  1. Thank you guys for your advice! I will take them to a cobbler as soon as I am able too and hopefully, that may fix the issue. I'm not sure if it's just the calves or the actual ankle/bottom of the boot that's preventing me from getting in them.

You could take those boots to a cobbler and get the calves stretched a bit more to give you room to fit your foot in.

Sometimes when they're tight, and especially before they're broken in, it can help to use boot pulls to get them on.  (and you can be sure you'll need help, or a boot jack, to remove them!)  Have you used boot pulls yet?

Otherwise, yes, it should be quite straightforward for a cobbler to add a little extra stretch to the leather that will let you get them on more easily.

I have not used proper boot pulls. I tried using the ones in the boot but I was afraid I'd ruin them or rip the leather somehow.

  2. Hello,

So nearly a year ago I started getting together the items I needed to put together my Krennic, outfit. And at that time I ordered a pair of the custom riding boots from Hessen Antique. After a whole plethora of problems actually getting them shipped to me, they finally arrived, and I can't get my foot down all the way into them.

They seemingly fit fine, albeit a tad tight, but I was anticipating that, in the calves. However, I cannot get my foot all the way down, into the toe and heel of the boot.

I'm concerned that I'm going to potentially rip the leather or something.

I have experience in re-enacting WWII and I've worn Soviet jackboots, but they're considerably shorter and somewhat looser than these German-style officer boots. So I'm not certain if I'm not doing something right in trying to get them on.

Has anyone else had this issue, or am I getting the short end of the stick nearly a year after I ordered the boots? I gave them custom measurements and they said they'd accommodate to those measurements.

Maybe I'm worrying too much, but I'd be curious to hear what other more experienced 501st vets, might have to say on this, and whether or not I should try getting back in contact with Hessen.

    Thanks in advance!

  3. Thank you all for your great advice so far! I guess all that matters now is actually placing the order. When they come in we'll see if C.Sky manages to do a perfect job on all the stuff, or if I need to take it into a seamstress.

I'll definitely look into getting the bits to make the stirrups myself, that sounds like a fantastic idea, as well as the cut/iron-on method. Although I must ask what kind of iron-on you used? Because all I'm seeing is stuff for t-shirts.

You mention that you asked them to move the code pockets.  I'm pretty new here, what was the problem on the Deluxe design?  Too high or too low?

    Steven

Yeah, for the uniform to be approved for Krennic, there was a post here on the forum on the code cylinders needing to be 5CM higher along with the collar, and this is according to this post. I'm not sure if this is applicable to a regular line officer's uniform or not, but I'm currently working on Krennic, so that's the info I'm using.

It was quite a while ago, but I don't think I added extra.  And (for me) the neck still came in a little loose.

As always though, individual results may vary.

Alright, I'll stick with my regular measurements, for now then. Hopefully, they maintain the quality in that department and I won't have to worry about it being too tight. Thanks for your input!

I concur with Jeff. I told them how I wanted them to make the jodhpurs and I still got elephant ears. However, they're still approvable. You could tailor the flares a little bit, but not much.

Well, so long as they're still approvable I guess that's all that really matters at the end of the day. Thanks for your input!

In my experience, it doesn't matter what you specify regarding the pants.  They're gonna make 'em however the heck they want.

Some people have told them explicitly how to make the flares.  They still get elephant ears.

I gave custom measurements, I still got a waist size so big that I don't unbutton them to put 'em on or take 'em off.  Suspenders fixed that.

The tunic they can get right (most of the time).  But pants?  Good luck! :)

Ha! I kind of figured that might be the case, but I guess it is what it is. When you put down your measurements for the tunic did you add a centimeter or so? Or just as it was, and it fit fine? I don't want to run the risk of placing the order and having it fit me like a sausage casing. Thanks for your insight! I'll definitely look at getting some suspenders.

  7. Hello!

I'm ordering the C.Sky deluxe uniform and I've added the necessary edits to make it approvable for the Krennic CRL.  However, I've heard that, while the tunics generally fit fine when using custom measurements, the trousers leave a bit to be desired.

I was hoping to gain insight from those of you who ran into this problem of "oversized/elephant ear" trousers, and how I can avoid, or significantly decrease this issue with my order. Did you add any particular custom measurements to your legs? Or is this going to be something that'll require in-home treatment?

I added the necessary movement of code cylinder pockets, and the increased height of the collar, but I want to get other opinions on what could have been improved with your own orders, specifically with those pants.

Any other tips for ordering from C.Sky would be much appreciated, I want to make sure all my bases are covered before I hit send.

    Thanks in advance!

  8. Hello!

I'm ordering a pair of custom boots due to my larger calves from Hessen Antique, and while I've heard many good things I wanted to check with people who've already ordered custom.

The main question I have is how these boots fit you when with trousers tucked in. I'm converting my measurements over to centimeters and I wasn't sure if I should add a centimeter or so to compensate, that way they aren't skintight when I'm wearing socks/pants tucked in. So I guess what I really want to know is if you've ordered the custom boots, did you add a centimeter/inch? Or did you just leave it as is with your regular measurements, and they fit totally fine with some room to spare already?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello,

I'm requesting an advisor for help in building Director Krennic's uniform. (Hopefully this isn't limited by location, but I would be greatly appreciative of any help I can get)

    Many thanks in advance!
