I put it down after about 20 pages. I just couldn't do it :-(

I felt something similar. Im at about page 100 now... Im trying to get through Aftermath. I just keep telling myself "this is canon, I need to know this..." Its hard though....

Do you have Lowe's in Canada?

We do. There are several Lowe's in the city, but when I checked the Canadian site, they dont seem to have brass sheets. Neither do any other home improvement/hardware stores. But I did find a place called Metal Supermarket that has 22 gauge brass sheets. I just need to go and pick some up. Shouldnt cost too much.

  3. I personally loved this book. Was even more surprised by it when I learned it was a "young adult" book. Im currently trying to read through Aftermath, but Im struggling through that one a bit to be honest. Im not sure if anyone else found this too... If you liked/loved Aftermath, some words of encouragement to finish might be needed hahaha :P

  4. Update: Surprisingly, the folks over at JRS havent replied to my thread. Im in no big rush at the moment since Im still trying to finish my first costume, and Im lacking funds right now after purchasing my boots, but I will likely just buy the olive CosplaySky uniform and add the red blood stripe myself. Im still hoping someone at JRS replies and can give me a firm yes or no.

Choose the "actual size" option when printing. Reference dimensions in inches and millimeters are present to verify printed scale.

Thanks so much for this pdf!! This is perfect!!!

Ive ordered 5 (in case I screw up one) Charles Leonard chalk holders (https://www.amazon.ca/Charles-Leonard-Holder-Silver-74541/dp/B0013CHGHO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1485403763&sr=8-1&keywords=chalk+holder). I really hope these are the right ones. At $8 CAD, I dont think thats too bad.

Ive managed to get everything else on the tutorial that Strongbow made, except for the brass sheets surprisingly. I figured that'd be easy, but its turning out to be harder than I thought. I think Ive found a vendor in the city that sells it, but I havent gone to get a quote (or see if they even have it).

The Officer in the CRL had his costume made at Carol's Custom Costumes on Facebook. It looks like a medium olive to me, but others on the JRS Forums have been approved with uniforms in the standard Line Officer green. There's a few threads on the JRS Forums in the 181st Fighter Wing section that can help you out. It's a cool uniform, good luck!

Thanks Ron!! I was just going to go to the JRS and ask them as well before I commit. I thought I was either overthinking it, or just colorblind haha

  7. Hey Everyone!!

I know this is technically part of the Jolly Roger Squadron, but because its a Dress Uniform, Id like your guys input as well. So, Im tempted to start working on a 181st Fighter Wing Dress Uniform (duh), and perhaps Im just overthinking this, but what color is the uniform itself? The CRL says olive (http://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:TI_181st_dress_uniform), but the pictures that go with it seem more gray to me.

Therefore, I am asking (before dropping any $$$): If I go with CosplaySky's uniform (http://cosplaysky.ca/star-wars-imperial-officer-olive-green-costume-uniform.html) and modify it with a red blood stripe, would that be acceptable? Is the CosplaySky olive-green the same color (or an acceptable color) as the CRL?

    Thanks!!

If you go for cosplaysky don't get the hat or belt and send accurate measurements

Just to add to this, depending on what uniform you want to do, if you require a hat, you can ask CosplaySky to send you extra material that matches your uniform to make an accurate matching hat. I dont remember how much the extra material costs but its a bit pricey.

I bought my belt and rank bar from TiggWolf and they are both awesome.

  9. Pretty much agree with everything Jared had to say. Only thing I can add is, at least from my experience and from whatever else Ive read, getting the costume right can be tricky. Its hit and miss. I ordered their Deluxe Imperial Officer uniform (custom fit) and added the Change of Fabric option to make them white for my Grand Admiral uniform. I received my costume in somewhat short order, but got black pants instead of white. Now having to deal with getting another replacement (white jodhpurs) is a bit of a headache. They currently havent replied to any of my emails. Others, Ive read, had their custom fit costumes be either too big or too small. Others, like mine, fit my perfectly. So, like I said, hit and miss.

  10. I did the exact same thing Stefan did. Its best to email CosplaySky first and ask some questions and details about altering the Deluxe uniform. But afterwards, placing the order isnt too bad. Just have to tack on the "change of fabric" to your cart: http://cosplaysky.com/color-fabric-change-service-for-costume-orders.html

PS: FYI, I just placed my order for Rank Badges and Imperial officer's belt from TiggWolf Creations (you can facebook them). You can check out there thread under  Ongoing Sales & Project Orders
