I know this is for Imperial tattoos but.



Just a small one for me, but I already have some really cool plans for new ink.  I got this at Celebration 2017 (like AT the con :D), to commemorate all of the amazing, wonderful people that this crazy hobby has brought into my life. 20 years of the 501st Legion. 40 years of Star Wars. (And also the very recent clearance of my Hux costume which I'd spent the last five or so months making in time to troop alongside my 501stfamily at Celebration). So, it's small but it means a lot to me. <3

Aye a Veers costume (or similar, if not Veers himself) is covered by an entirely different detachment. It's.. complicated, haha.
 
There are a handful of face character officers (Pryce, Tarkin and Thrawn specifically) who don the same armour in Rebels. I believe someone is also working on an "armoured officer" from Battlefront 2, so there mayyyy be some armour creeping into the IOC soon. Nobody has told the folks building these costumes with this armour that there will be any real issue or sent them elsewhere I don't think, so it's a "wait and see" for what happens for this armour regarding CRLs.

When this was originally posted, Mark immediately then posted the thread re: no updates until staff changeovers etc were finished. As we are updating and discussing things obviously that timeframe was passed and I want to re-open this issue.

All the data and reference has been presented, as well as Hound's opinion as the creator/model of the existing CRL.

How do we wish to proceed on this matter?

I presented it as a generic change, as in all should be able to do this thing with the reference applied. We have since discussed a separate CRL as Hound's was intended to be specifically a singular character (I was not pushing a CRL here). If the former, then it should be a very quick change given all the reference material available. If the latter (and potentially with changes regarding how it was interpreted in animation versus comic form), then can we discuss to proceed? It was a purely theoretical discussion to open up availability of the uniform a bit; but now I have this cadet uniform in progress and want to know what to do with it - as it was intended specifically for Cadet Thrawn as seen in the ref.

Your question on those specific boots was answered; but if you're already considering the idea of a cobbler, be aware then that any boot that has a back seam on the shaft can be brought in on the calf - if that's the main reason you can't go for other boot options, seek out a cobbler in your area with pics and discuss your options.

Oof, I'm genuinely impressed that the seams not matching up is how they've gone with this!

Rose's Major costume lines up beautifully. As does the FOSB. The two decent examples of the foldover we can see in the visual dictionary.

I mean. The only two upper body shots we've ever seen of the admiral include this wonky seam misalignment. Maybe it -is- legit? Urgh my kingdom for a costume designer to talk to about this!  XD

I'm still reeling over the lack of adherence to the given rank bar system in the TFA visual dictionary with his rank bars. I'm really struggling to believe that Hux was that special a snowflake that he got entirely his own uniform. But like, maybe? There are so many unknowns here. So many "why?!" questions!

Love this! I found it hard keeping up with Thrawn (and Vanto's) rise in rank through the book, so the timeline is super useful!

If they can't get along at Disney then there is no hope for the relationship tbh.

I don't even think I've cracked the spine of my Celebration copy of Thrawn. I went and bought a regular copy to actually read. XD Fancy special edition Thrawn is safely tucked away on a bookshelf somewhere to likely never bee touched again.
Action figures and toys I'll open and mess around with. Books? Books are serious business!

It ties in a HECK of a lot more with Rebels, which.. makes sense. I've just got a really bad memory so I think I'm going to be wookiepedia-ing a lot to remind myself of this planet or that battle. XD
