I'm sure any hat shop will know what can be done, but usually a simple steamer is adequate to help with things like that.  Very handy for officers to have... I bought mine a good while ago for like $20 on Amazon (cheap travel steamer).  I'm sure they're a little more now, but probably still not too bad.

You can wear any rank you want, but for higher level approvals I'd recommend to sticking to screen-used ranks, or comics, or anything where you can specifically point to a licensed source showing someone wearing that specific rank with the costume you want.

I was needing a picture of either boots with a zipper and or the type of zipper to use.

None of my boots have zippers, but don't over-think it.  It's just a standard zipper going up the inside of the leg.

Oops, good to know that people use the DMs here! I've sent only a few, but noticed how quickly my mailbox storage says it's filling up and have been wondering whether people actually use the system.

Staff have larger inbox limits, FWIW, as we need to communicate with a lot more people than the average member.

If I think about it I'll check the server and see if the earlier inbox limits can be loosened a bit.

Just for the record, as a moderator elsewhere I'm really impressed with the admin work I've been able to see here so far. Active and fair and considered and welcoming.
