Well hello IOC family.... I would like to ask you all for a favor and help put a smile on a 6 year old with Leukemia.

I had the pleasure of meeting young Declan on my first troop with my Garrison. He is a special little man. Even though he had a fever and was being given IV antibiotics treatment, he found the strength to come and see us. Declan has always wanted to be a Stormtooper and my fellow Garrison members have been visiting him prior to my first troop.

Things are not as good as we all would have hoped and it seems that he will be having another round of chemo and possible transplant. They have given him 15% chance of recovery which is not the best, but it's better then 0%.

The thing about Declan is that he truly believes in Star Wars. He thinks that we are all from various planets or outpost around the galaxy and have been stationed on Earth. We have asked members of the 501st to go to his FaceBook page and post messaged or photos in your costumes. It's such a simple thing to do and I know that it brings him joy.  Link enclosed:

    https://www.facebook.com/DclanSpecialOps/

You can send you message via private message to the admin on his facebook page so it can be added as a transmission or you can post it on the visitors section. Declan reads And sees both. Be creative if you can.

I ended up going to my dispatch center and with the assistance of one of my managers did a quick photo shoot.

    ^^ Exactly.

The precise meaning behind the "random" rank bars isn't really important, as long as we're wearing a representation of something that was actually on screen.

So.. for my 100th post within the forum, I thought that I would share a tip that I received from a Cobbler to stretch my boots and fix a part of the leather that was curling inwards.

He told me to soak the leather with Rubbing Alcohol and then use something like newspaper or in my case my feet to stretch the boots out. I ended up soaking the inside of the boot with the rubbing alcohol in the areas that need to be stretched and then walked around the house for a few hours. I was amazed how fast it worked and comfortable the boots are now.

I did have to shine/buff the boots again, but I consider that fun.

First Troop. Stollery Children’s  Hospital, Edmonton Alberta, Canada.

I don’t even know where to begin... nausea, nerves, excitement, fear and and absolute joy. This is what I experienced at my first troop. I can truly say that this is one of the most memorable days of my life. The pure joy that we brought to those wonderful children going through what may be one of the worst time of their little lives was amazing. There wasn’t a single person in the room that didn't have a smile.

We had parents comment on how they could not  remember when their child last smiled so much or that it was the most they were able to do in days. One little girl was dancing up a storm, laughing and playing the entire time. Her mother told us that the day before she wasn’t even walking and had no energy...don’t you know that she was one of the last kids to stay and play with us. Amazing!!!
We did have the opportunity to walk through some wards, where they were too unwell to make it out to see us. I seriously could have stayed all night with those kids.

I had the honour (Canadian spelling) of seeing and meet some wonderful members of my Garrison who took me in as one of their own from the moment I said “Hi, I’m the new guy.” They showed me what it is to be a member of the 501st. My only regret is that I didn’t join sooner.

now... the bad. I lost one of my code cylinders... but I have a set coming from Philo soon anyways.
