Stormystormtrooper reacted to PArmstr in screen-used Imperial line officer tunic from LFL
Many people try to use the McCall's M 4745 Civil War pattern for the tunic. I don't recommend it because the shoulders of the sleeve are weird. The instructions are also a little bit difficult to follow.
https://mccallpattern.mccall.com/product-search?ref=M4745
Some people use the Butterick B6340 pattern for the jodhpurs trousers.
https://butterick.mccall.com/b6340
I suggest using Hawk's pattern from the forum for the tunic.

If you want to use the McCall's M4745 pattern as a base I recommend following Char Tozard steps. He did a very good job with his uniform.

Stormystormtrooper reacted to Angelus in Advice on finding/creating Rain Poncho? (For Line Officer)
Line Officer Rain Poncho was said to be Black color instead of Olive color base on some picture and info from the designer from the <<Rogue One>> movie.
Jason Womack from what I know is making the poncho and the coat too! I do make some of the ponchos at times.
I have my olive poncho because I thought it will be matching to my Line suit. LOL and that I can wear it when I go for cons. XD
There are some pattern on how to make the Poncho if you feel like making it yourself.
For the Coat, if you are planing to make it yourself. You can try using this pattern and mode it yourself
For Officer Trenchcoat

if you somehow find this pattern, this is the closest pattern that I can find for the pattern.
Burda 5543 or Vogue V8720

My bad. I meant green ponchos.

Stormystormtrooper reacted to SNK in Advice on finding/creating Rain Poncho? (For Line Officer)
The description says it’s black - probably an unintentional carryover from the Staff Officer CRL.
I don’t think we have seen a line officer with a poncho yet - only the trench coat.

Ponchos aren't an option for Line Officers.
Coats are good to go though!

There are multiple Etsy shops carrying rain ponchos - but the shop that has been linked here has both coats and ponchos.

Stormystormtrooper reacted to SNK in Officer - Mimban Lieutenant CRL Update Proposal
Also - just to clear up any potential confusion:
The guy in the green uniform and trench coat is the Major - the guy wearing the black uniform Staff Officer is supposed to be Commander Xodell.
The caption doesn't match the order they are standing in.

He’s not - and I don’t really consider either of those images a good reference for this purpose - neither of them are wearing armor in this picture - they are just in standard uniforms with trench coats.
I also don’t recall the Commander on screen or being mentioned in the novel - I’d have to skim it again though to be sure.

It doesn't look to me as though Xodell is wearing the "Mimban Officer" uniform. I don't think he has a breastplate for a start. He seems to be more the standard line officer with optional trench coat.

Stormystormtrooper reacted to lantern2745 in Snap Belt Size
.39 something. That's about 25/64 which is a weird size. The next size down from that is 3/8 - a much more "normal" size.

The button on my belt is 1 cm in diameter. Not sure what that is in inches

Stormystormtrooper reacted to DarthFunk83 in How can I make my own belt boxes?
This question, and Jeff's answer, reminded me of a Tested video I watched not too long ago. Its a great watch regardless, but when Adam is making the big boxes on Chewie's bandolier, the method to make them is very similar to how Jeff described making the belt boxes for an Officer. Obviously the dimensions of the boxes will be different (like Jeff said, get the measurements from the CRL), but the method to make them I think would be the same or close to it
Start at 5:20 ish.

I haven't tried it myself, but I've put much thought into it.
You'll need a metal break with adjustable fingers. And some stainless steel sheet.
Lift the dimensions off the CRL.
Then a drill and pop rivets.
And a way to fasten it to your belt.

Stormystormtrooper reacted to gmrhodes13 in Placement for Rank Bar
Depends which version you are doing, especially if you want to achieve L2 or L3, have a look at some of my approved submissions in the Executor section, you'll notice depending on which officer I applied for how the position of the bar changed slightly. You can also look at screen shots of officers to see the positions.
Examples of Olive officers

Stormystormtrooper reacted to Trapper in Life without star wars
.What a horrible thought. Some of us met our wives and husbands through star wars. Made babies after watching star wars, ( ok not sure about that, but wouldn't doubt it). All the heated debates at work and school . Like the one about Han, (he shot first no discussion). Yes , life without star wars that would be scary. Come on, can anyone imagine costuming as the cast from American Graffiti? Ha-ha just kidding. Hope everyone is having a great day.

Stormystormtrooper got a reaction from bluebeam in Hats - Rebels style
Just throwing in my two cents. They probably wore them like that to look more dark, mysterious and such. Kinda impossible to see through, which probably isn't good when one is commanding the imperial army.
