Bootlegger137 reacted to lantern2745 in PHOTOBUCKET CANCELLED IMAGE HOSTING!
To be fair: How would someone actually KNOW if a Rebel Legion thread had missing photos? THEY ALL DO THERE!!!!
Only half kidding. Their the worst.

Bootlegger137 reacted to DarthFunk83 in Imperial Boots to produce officer boots
My advice to you is that if you think youll have a desire to reach L2 or L3 status, just go for that level of boots. No point wasting money on boots that'll only get you basic approval

That looks great! Luckily, the inside doesn't matter even a little bit (on most costumes, anyway). Nicely done.

Bootlegger137 reacted to DarthFunk83 in Magnoli Collar
Haha yeah, doesn't look nice from the inside, but that collar looks a lot better now. Nice work!! It's so weird that the Magnoli made the collar with top stitching...

Bootlegger137 reacted to DaddySolo in Magnoli Collar
It's funny cuz I just noticed it as well lol. I guess in my case, the hooks are set further inside the collar so the left side covers over the loops and the stitching.
In the end it is a miniscule amount and with the proper placement of the collar hooks, can't be seen

Thanks Clayton. Much appreciated.
Just scrolled through the thread again, and it's interesting to note that DaddySolo's tunic also has the top stitching on the left side near the eyelets, the same as mine.

EDIT: Double post thanks to my phone being stupid.

Hey there, the parts shown on the left side.
And that is deeply disappointing, Magnoli should know about the top-stitching being prohibited.

Bootlegger137 reacted to lantern2745 in Tie Pilot/AT-ST/Gunner leather glove suggestions?
I actually just sold my Wampa Wear gloves to a friend who is doing a full tie. More like traded. He then ordered the Leather Mystics gloves and is having them shipped to me. So soon I'll be able to provide a first hand account of them.
Get it? First hand. Cause it's about gloves? #dadjokes

You have to make costumes, troop, help other's make costumes, troop, post, give advice, troop, post, give good advice, troop, post, get noticed for being helpful, troop, post, make some more costumes, troop, post, get noticed for giving proper advice, post, troop, love doing extra work for no pay, post, troop, post some more, troop, have an eye for detail, learn to interpret the CRL's, troop and Post some more.
Nothing to it.

Bootlegger137 reacted to lantern2745 in Welcome to Ask an Advisor
Greetings Imperial Cadets! If you are reading this, you have begun or will soon begin constructing one (or more) of the many IOC costumes within the 501st Legion.
The IOC Command Staff, and IOC Advisors are here to help you to be successful in this proccess.
To that end, this area will be for you, Cadet, to ask questions specific to your costume build, and have them answered by an Advisor.
Additionally, if you decide you would like to have one on one mentoring by an Advisor, this section will be here for you to make that request.
One question you may already have is, "What's an Advisor?".
An Advisor is a 501st member with an approved IOC costume appointed by IOC Command Staff to assist new members.
If you are more comfortable asking questions in a one to one setting, reply in the "Requesting an Advisor" section HERE using the format at the start of that thread.
Upon seeing your request, an Advisor will volunteer to work closely with you as you progress through your build.
Be aware that it may take a day or two for you to be paired with the right Advisor.
As a note - When asking a question please do two things;
Make the title to your thread as short, yet detailed as you can. Don't just title it, "Question" or "Does Anyone Know...". If it's regarding boots, you could title it, "Will these boots work?" or "How do you care for boots?". Scan the titles of (or preferably read entire) threads that have come before you. If someone is having or has had the same issue, you may save time (yours, ours, everyone's) by reading before posting.
Thank you for reading, and we look forward to helping you join the Imperial Officer Corps!

Lets just do this... Hey @ID6187. Are you aware of Tosche Traders using what appears to be photos of some of your props? If so, could you let us know if there is an agreement between you and them?
Thanks!

CS has not fixed their jodhpurs as far as I know. And it seems like they might never. I wouldn't worry about it too much. If you take the uniform into the tailors, you can get them to decrease the size of the flares a little bit. Otherwise, starch the flares and leave it.

Bootlegger137 reacted to Risvang in A couple of beginner questions...
Hey, I just got approved in a CS tailor made.
The jacket arrived in an OK state, but the pants were of by several inches.
I ended up paying the same amount at the Taylors, as the uniform from CS. But the extensive work at the taylors was worth it.
The uniform went from being an OK CS uniform, to being my uniform, fitting my body.
I would plan on using a good amount of money at the taylors, as an officer uniform should fit you snugly. No officer would leave the academy in a poorly fitting uniform.
As for the boots:
Go with Hessen, and get the the boots fitted. They are awsome, and when trooping for several hours, you will love a propper fitting boot.

Bootlegger137 reacted to lantern2745 in A couple of beginner questions...
We just ordered my son an off the rack uniform, and the jacket is absolutely perfect. The pants could do with a bit of tapering, but all in all I was/am very impressed with the rack sizing.
So much so, that if I decide to get another uniform I will likely go with the rack size (XL). My custom fitted line officer is good, but I had to have the sleeves shortened anyway, and I literally don't unbutton them to put the pants on. They just slide on, and suspenders keep 'em up.
So for what it's worth, there is my experience.

I would advise getting a custom set made, they seem to be more of a hit that a miss, most have issues with the off the rack sizing. Make sure you measure as much as you can and accurately, add it into the notes section when ordering. The jackets are a nice fit but most of the time you will still need some tailoring on their pants, for some reason they are always too large, not much of an issue if you know someone that can sew.
They have updated their Olive sale thread so you will have not issues ordering that.
Good luck with what ever you decide.

So, I've started making a line officer as well, and I have bought my uniform from CS. In my opinion, you might as well get the custom sizing. Alot of the negative feedback was due to Chinese New Years a few months back, and yes they can be hit and miss, but I find that they're pretty good. Might require minor adjustments. As far as I know, the olive green uniform has the same stitching etc as the Deluxe. You should ask though, just I case.
And last, my boots are Hessen. In my opinion Hessen is better than Todd's, and since the pricing is close, I see no reason why not.

Ahh, well... I don't know how much this will help then, but here's the measurements anyway haha: http://imgur.com/a/w6X6k
From what I understand, if you don't fit standard sizing, Hessian is THE boot to get. Todd's look really nice, but again, the shaft is too small for me.
