[Starting Governor Pryce Costume]

Hello!!

Quick update on my Governor Pryce build... 

I got the uniform from cosplay.  It came bigger than the measurements I sent so I will need to take it in for alteration.

I ordered the rankbar and the belt few weeks ago and they are on their way...

 

I'm ready to order the code cylinder.  Is this the correct one for the approval?

For the collar insignia, does it matter what kind of fabric it is?

[Question on Officer Boots]

Hello...

I have found a pvc molded boots online. Would these work for level 1 approval of Governor Pryce? According to the CRL, pvc is allowed as long as it gives the appearance of leather.

(Even though the title says rubber, if you choose size 8 the description says it's molded of pvc)

 

I also found leather "riding boots" but not sure if this would be approved for Governor Pryce.

[Question on Officer Boots]

Hello everyone.

I'm in the process of assembling the Governor Pryce costume to join 501st. I'm looking for the Officer Boots for the costume. Does anyone have any suggestions on where I can find the boots in the US that would be approved? I live in Southern California.

[Code Cylinders Question]

He is correct.

I do have my approximation of the Original Trilogy  cylinders up for sale.  *yay!*

But I don't yet have the Rebels style ready, though those are coming along nicely.  I'm hoping to get some shop time in this weekend.  Once the Rebels clips are dialed in, the rest should be a cake walk.

Those will (I feel) be cartoon accurate.

I've just started working on Governor Pryce uniform to join 501st. I plan to order the code cylinders soon. Please let us know when the Rebels style is ready for purchase.

[Starting Governor Pryce Costume]

Be forwarned that CosplaySky can produce some fantastic costumes at truly unbelievable prices, but they also can be VERY hit-and-miss with sizing... sometimes dramatically so.  It has definitely happened that even when provided with lots of custom measurements the uniforms they send are WAY WAY off those measurements. (Many stories of this all over the forum)  They've been good about replacements, but it's more delay, for sure.  As long as you're comfortable with what could turn out to be a drawn out timeline (sometimes 2-3 tries to get it right), even with the back-and-forth (and even costs for professional tailor alterations), you still come in far far cheaper than pretty much any source out there.  So I still think they're worth giving a shot, as long as you're not in a big hurry.  Just a tip to help manage expectations and reduce frustration.  And hey, if they happen to nail it on the first go, all the better!

Thanks for the heads up. I have read about their hit-and-miss on the sizing. I'm not in a hurry. I plan on spending the time to get it right. I'm going to put in the order in a day or two. Hopefully I won't have to go back and forth with them too many times.

[Starting Governor Pryce Costume]

Hello everyone...

I'm trying to put together my Governor Pryce costume for entry into 501st.  I've read through the posts here and many have mentioned that they've started with the Cosply Sky Imperial Officer Grey Costume (http://cosplaysky.com/star-wars-imperial-officer-grey-costume-uniform.html).  Before I purchase the uniform, I wanted to get some idea of how much alteration will be required.  I'm very new to sewing and alterations so I'd like to keep the alterations to minimum for now.

 

From what I've gathered from the posts, I will need the following alterations to the uniform trouser:

• Taper the legs over calf
• Taper the side flares
• Stiffen the side flare

 

Are there any other alterations I need to make to the trouser?

Are there any alterations I need to make to the tunic for approval into 501st?

Where can I find the belt?

Where can I find the Code cylinder?

Where can I find the correct Rank bar?

Can I use a black iron-on patch cut into triangles for the collar insignia?
