This is quite the conundrum, however I agree with the LMO team on this one. I'm getting a kick out of people saying certain LMO's don't understand these costumes, they do. From what I've seen, most of these LMO's have worked on far more complex costumes. At the end of the day, it's just looking at photos and writing details into a CRL; they understand these costumes.

I've been following this build since it started. While staff may have never been notified about the decision that this wasn't going to be a CRL, we should have seen it coming. We knew early on that we lacked reference photos. Stephanie and others have done a terrific job, but surely they knew the risk of this not becoming a CRL due to lack of reference. Silver lining, they have an awesome costume they can wear to cons now! We have the same issue with the Solo Navy trooper and grey ANH officer, very little refences, yet people are working on a CRL, someone should warn them it may not happen. I think as a group we need to start tempering our expectations, just because its on screen for a few shots doesn't mean it will become a CRL, we need more references! The 501st is a club that follows strict standards, its our claim to fame. We have to follow the references to uphold our reputation, or we risk tarnishing it.

One argument I've been seeing is we should put out what we have and if we get new photos, we'll update the CRL; that's a slippery slope. If we start publishing half baked CRLs, the standards will keep dropping for every CRL after.

    That's just my two cents.

I can't speak to that, but if what you say is accurate, to me it is a "two wrongs don't make a right" situation. Pointing out other mistakes or errors in judgement should not be a platform to try to push through another one. That should be repaired rather than considered an acceptable precedent.

    Hi,
I would like to add this datapad to the First Order Lieutenant/Captain CRL:

    Security Sealed Officer’s Datapad
Security Sealed Datapads are used by officers of the First Order. As they contain highly sensitive information they are kept locked and keyed to specific officers only. They were used aboard First Order Star Destroyers such as the Supremacy.

This will be the home for the "Official" work list.  "Official" in this case means ones that the Command Staff are aware of, and thus should not be taken to mean nothing else is in the works.
It will remain locked and updated by staff as additional CRLs are brought to our attention and (behind the scenes) work begins.
Please continue to use the CRL Updates area to discuss possible revisions as normal.
    Thank you

    Hi!
Overall this is a superb build!
However, I would also like to point out that on the back pictures there seems to be a presence of the curved seams/top stitching of the back and also one seam running down the material. However, from my own research it appears to be all one piece of material.

I agree, it's tricky to pin down solid screenshots proving this in TFA, however in TLJ you get a few reasonable shots of the back of the same style jacket with no seams present that I can tell:

The very far right of the screen is the curvature of the back of someone wearing this style of jacket, you get a pretty good look at it if you check the movie. No seams at all that I can see.

Firstly  your contradicting yourself by saying ' orange tiles are operations' then in your reply you go on about how 'He could be a science officer, his title.  He could also wear the rank of a colonel  as an operations officer in the imperial military. '
You also seem to state you have 'stuff to back it up' however, all you have said it what people have said.
I could quite easily state that George Lucas has said that Star Wars is in the same universe as Star Trek. Does it make it so? No.

OfficerPouty got a reaction from Duchessina in Simple question: why the Empire?
In my opinion, the Republic became too corrupt and disorganised like some Republics can be such as the Roman Republic in our universe, the Empire overall was looking at unity of the galaxy under one order. I like the fact that the Empire from the perspective of ordinary citizens was overall a regime, to promote peace and order after the bloody Clone Wars and that's to me why I like the Imperial side. It's more uniformed and more efficient compared to the Republic era and the costumes overall reflect this.
The rise of the Galactic Empire is very similar to the fall of the Roman Republic and rise of the Empire which is also something I am interested in .
