Here are some pics that I have of IOC members from various troops last year. I hope this is what you're looking for Ron. Ive also included the TKIDs of the members in the photos. All of these are from the Badlands Garrison

You can't see it on this part of the picture, but on the other code cylinder is the knurled bezel visible:

The shadow underneath the rankbar makes no sense at all. A straight edge with a brick-like shadow?

I am still uncertain if there are small holes or little elevated dots in the corners. On the left side of the picture they look like holes - they are darker. On the right side they are bright and seem to catch the light from the right which makes them appear like dots raised up from the bar.

I haven't yet played Battlefront, but dug up some old convos about those pinholes in other officer badges from the movies.  It is amazing that they picked out that tiny little detail and made sure to put it in the game, yet changed so many other things about the uniform and bars!

Here is Tarkin's. You're part right. But the spring I mentioned earlier in blue is near the bottom of the clasp while Versio's is near the top.

Shouldn't we change the requirements für the code cylinders? I'd like to see the research provided by Kalei as the reference for Lvl 2:

    Code Cylinders
    For 501st approval:

    For 501st approval:
Two code cylinders are worn on the uniform, one in each cylinder pocket. Modified: silver "chalk holder" tube with short clip, top is colored Blue. Dosimeter style: True Dosimeter with correct clip and Blue top.
For level two certification (if applicable):
The code cylinders are exact replicas of the digital  model in Battlefront 2.

Nice work all around. You all have either a lot of time to stare at these photos or great eyes for details... maybe both

There's a mixture of 1 part rubbing alcohol and 2 parts water in a spray bottle that can help it stretch. You spray the solution inside and outside the area you want to stretch. Let it soak for a moment then put on the boot so it'll dry to the shape. You may have to do this a few times cause it's a gradual process.

I missed the post initially, but I (as does Bob) have these boots. They were very tall on me, so (again like Bob) I had the tops taken down to the bottom of the stretch panel. Now they're flat top and look great!

I very much agree. With all your points. I guess semirigidness is a broad term. I don't know of any other Rebels Thrawn costumes but I am in the process of making my own. I believe I can achieve this look.

You do know that even saying semi-rigid, a very high degree of leniency and range of flexibility is built in?   My definition of semi-rigid is possibly not the same as another person's which is different from yours which is different from hers.  I would consider an embroidered cloth patch as semi-rigid for example.

The shoulder bars have a very specific three dimensional design and look.  Very clean, sharp lines with a definite thickness.  You can achieve that with cloth, go for it.  I will hazard a guess that I will describe what you produce as "semi-rigid" even if it moves and bends.

What you do not want to do and what is not desired is blurred and soft lines, flat floppiness or lumpy corners.  However, we do not (or should not, and yes, I am aware some older ones do) define CRL's with what things are not.  We define them as what they are.

I'll close with:  the debate with how cartoons are translated into CRL's will last as long as there are costumers who reproduce things out of said cartoons (and comics, for that matter).  At some point, we need to ensure that people aren't waiting forever unapproved whilst said debate goes on as well as do justice to the costume references.  Are we perfect?  Nope?  Will everyone agree/be happy?  Nope.  Do we still try to do the very best we can?  Yep.

Speaking of which ... until folks actually post up submissions for the requested CRL pictures ... this CRL will remain unpublished.  So.  If you know folks with outstanding examples of Rebels Thrawn, encourage them to submit their photos for consideration.  >>>> http://www.imperialofficer.com/forum/index.php?/topic/8723-rebels-thrawn-crl-pics/

these are not hard to modify.  Find a local leather worker and see if they can clip the spanish cuffs on the side to make them proper english boots.  I did those with mine and you would never know they were not in the first place.

I searched for boots quite some time, so I spent a lot of hours reading the CRL carefully and looking at pictures of different boots.

And I am also not sure about the stretch panel clearly visible in the first and fourth picture, which is clearly forbidden by the CRL:
There are no stretch panels, buckles, snap tabs, or decoration

Hessen is an excellent choice and definitely worth the money.

I think they are ok for basic Level and maybe L2, but not for L3 where it says "Exact replicas of English riding (dress) boots or Equestrian boots" which these are not.

I don't think they are english riding boots with that kind of top. But I do not say I'm right, it's just my opinion.

I agree with Sean, I'm also not sure about the top. You could ask your local GML too if he would approve them.
But when I take a look at the price you can also go with the Hessen Boots which are 229,50$. They have a calf circumfence of 17 inches and worked perfectly for me, and I had a lot of trouble with Boots because of my calves. But it also depends to which country you need them to be shipped and if you would have to pay fees and taxes for the Hessen Boots.
