Sadly, the chart is incorrect in regards to Navy Troopers. There's a difference between the jumpsuited trooper and the "dress" variants and the chart addresses none of those differences. Even the dress variants have differences between each film (and that's what you see in R1, I know you skipped that film, but there's dress ones in the OT.)
With the ANH vs the ESB/ROTJ tunics oftentimes referred too interchangeably, it at least points out that they are not the same. For our purposes though, you can use an ANH rank on an ESB/ROTJ tunic and be emulating an "on screen officer."
The matrix isn't all inclusive of all costume types, it merely shows the black jumpsuit costumes plus staff officer & warrant officer variants for comparison. It would have been way too wide had I included all the variations of navy trooper and gunner! -
This may help? It only covers original trilogy, though. I did not include Solo or Rogue One versions.

This is awesome!
I noticed there is also an Imperial Navy Trooper variant that contains the dress uniform, not sure if you knew about that one.

Someone else did bring that up as well, but since it has 3 variants itself I decided not to include it in order to keep it manageable. Gotta draw the line somewhere -

This might offer some help as to which costumes require belt boxes and at what approval levels. I recently completed my TIE Reserve, and wanted to know what was needed to become Bridge Crew -- so this really helped me understand the shared components and how they comprise each OT costume variation. But remember the CRL is always the definitive reference & provides more detail than shown in this Shared Components Matrix. Hope it helps!

Hi everyone, in order to help me understand the numerous variants of the black uniforms & what costume components could be used in other configurations, I created the Shared Components Matrix. That black flight suit is quite ubiquitous! I hope you find this useful.
It's not an official 501st document, just something I put together to help current & aspiring members. The CRL is always the official reference which goes into more detail than I could include here.
(It has been pointed out that "Navy Trooper - Dress Uniform" isn't included; it would have made the matrix 3 columns wider due to all its own variations, and I had to stop somewhere...!) So it's not
Thanks to @tristanuk and my garrison GML for providing feedback before being finalized, much appreciated.

Ah, you are correct! They're described as "Rod Style" in the CRL. I shall make that modification to the matrix, thank you!
