  1. I’ve had my name down since day one of this thread, yes I’m still interested but disappointed I hadn’t heard any updates, last thing was that you’d found a solution to headband issue and would do a run.

Please advise as to next steps to guarantee one of the five remaining.

  2. BOOOOOOO, not too long ago, I had to shave to reach Imperator. Is that still the case if the canon character I'm emulating is clean shaven?

I mean that opens up a whole can of backlash at the detachment if they’re going to deny that rank based on human appearance.

We’re a COSTUME club afterall. I mean, could imperator really be denied if it was. Female emulating a male? Who cares if the COSTUME reaches that standard?
  3. Andrew, this kind of reply to a post is why members get banned from posting on Forums. If you have a personal beef with a member, then take it somewhere else. The Forums are no place for bickering or personal attacks.

    Alright I will rephrase;

Kelly; if you read the previous three posts to the one you quoted, you will see full context to it.
  4. He is irritated because he knows the person that made this Sith Order Eternal Officer costume and he is frustrated for her.  But we should not criticize other costumes or their development except to say "this is a precedent we can use" or "here is a suggestion to improve the CRL".

I know there are some people that think this is degenerating into a tit for tat.  I have no animosity on any costume.  I want all of them in.  Granted we have thresholds we are trying to meet, but at the same time these thresholds for acceptance are kept fuzzy so the head LMO can make a decision in the best interest of the legion.

But our mission is to make costumes.  That is our mission and the founding purpose of detachments.  Everything else is extra.

Any worker can shut down a construction site because of a safety concern.  People need to be safe.  But the reason they are there is to build things.  No one gets a cookie for stopping things.  You get a cookie for finding a way to get things moving again safely.

The people in these positions should be moving heaven and earth to get these things made.  And we should be recognizing the people that are.

You’re half right there. I am irritated yes. But mostly by the double standards that are keeping a costume out of this legion. A costume that I myself would dearly love to do for the legion. I did state that way back in this thread. So not really to do with me knowing said costumer as much as people want to believe.

    Edit to add:

No, I don’t begrudge any detachment for getting costumes approved. Any examples I’ve brought up, are not in hate of “these shouldn’t be part of the legion” - more in tone as “these are exactly why this costume SHOULD get approval”
  5. Policy should not be justified behind closed doors.  It should be out in the open.  And I will do what I can to have these policies and decisions discussed put in the open.  Please bear with us.

Thank you Bob. I have read over the discussion on the legion council now it’s been moved to public view

It’s clear to see even here in this thread just who is working against the ioc, and against their own works.

Thank you for your efforts on the matter. Now that a light is being shone behind those closed doors it’s no surprise as to who is working against us on this, and no surprise they wanted it hidden in closed council.
  6. Yes, it’s inconsistency like this that have so many of us so upset.
If there were clear and defined rules and procedures that would be one thing, and I’m sure we would all accept that.
(For those who argue that there MUST be 360° views, this is quite simply not the case. The very wording says that ideally there should be these views available, is does not say that they are a definitive requirement)
But this doesn’t appear to be the case here. We see some costumes get through and others not.
I’ve said it here before and I’ve said in the moan Legion boards, CRLs are continuously revised and updated over time. I’m literally part of the IOC CRL team doing that very thing now. We are talking about a fabric tunic which in all likelihood has nothing to see on that back than we’ve already seen. The very reason it hasn’t been seen is that there’s nothing to see. There is no hard armour, no backpack, no wings or fairylights there. It’s fabric. There might be an additional seam. And this is worst case.
If the CRL was green lit right now with the known sources, any future references could be easily incorporated into the text or images, if required.
This happens literally all the time. We improve our CRLs when more information comes to light.

This is the reason I’m so offended by the lmo’s on this. They literally have no reason beyond “because we said so!” But saying “no this is fine” for others.
  7. Oh he has don’t worry. This costume has not been forgotten!

I’m less worried about the costume being forgotten than I am about the atrocities that go under the rug. I have full faith this costume will be approved, but the damage being done in the meantime….someone has to own this series of mistakes.
  8. We’ve tried so many times man. It’s so frustrating. Some get through and some don’t. There’s little to no consistency and that really irks me so much.

Well it’s time to hold them accountable. Publicly.really hoping Bob can throw his support in an open forum and show the membership this isn’t okay.

  9. Interestingly enough, the same people have just approved a crl for the Sith eternal engineer over in the gunners detachment.

Absolute sham this whole thing is. Will be making further complaints for sure. Wasteful gate keeping tactics, and for what?

    Fleet technician*
  10. Bascially for want of a nail (or more specifically the lower 30 cm of the back of the tunic. I have no idea where this blanket 'missing the back' thing has come from that everyone keeps talking about. We have shots of the top part of the back from movie stills. We can see the seam across the shoulders) this is dead in the water.

Interestingly enough, the same people have just approved a crl for the Sith eternal engineer over in the gunners detachment.

  11. I stand corrected on the Solo navy trooper. Apparently a propmaker confirmed that the back piece was ground grew but filled in.

There’s still no visual confirmation one way or the other on that. Those words taken by themselves can still have a hundred different visual representations.
  12. How has it not been given a fiar go? Were missing important shots of the costume. That isn't the LMOs fault.

    Solo movie navy trooper.
    Galaxy’s edge mountain trooper.

Go research those crls and tell me this one really has been given a fair go.
  13. Is there a written rule in the Guidelines for character approval that clearly denies Lego-Figures? Ain't a Lego-Figure an Action-Figure? Isn't it licenced by LFL? Didn't they use official reference at Lego?

LEGO also has creative license to fit within their mini figure selection. Accuracy has NEVER been legos selling point, so therefore should NEVER be considered as such.

I put this picture forward a while back as a joke, because I knew then that this costume was never going to be given the fair go it deserves.
  14. People are more than within their rights to hold me accountable for my jab, I’ll take that on board.

    But

We are still left here with very few answers to a mountain of questions, so how about rather than jabbing/defending, we actually get the answers we deserve?

The stated rules are deliberately there for interpretation and judgement call. So why have the lmo’s seen fit to green light the likes of the solo navy trooper and the galaxy’s edge figure of the mountain trooper, but NOT this one?

Why has this one been targeted for the nix list?

  15. I've not been following this buid in close detail, can I just summarise why it was rejected to to see if I'm understanding it correctly?  The crl was rejected by the LMO because:

    - The LMO team should have been involved sooner.
Except that the LMOs were involved from the very beginning of this thread and have commented consistently.

    - The costume should not have been made before the LMO team had given the crl a green light.
Except that whenever new crls have been asked about in the past the standard response from Kris (an LMO) has always been "someone has to build it first".

    - There aren't clear reference shots of the back
Except this has never been a requirement that is applied evenly and, according to the actual wording (shared above), is not so much a requirement as a preference.

    Anything else I'm missing?

But god forbid any of us regs challenge the almighty Kris Kobus’ school for logic right?
