Sorry for letting this go dormant.  It's the next thing I want to get going on though.

The only one we've positively identified as being seen (on screen, I'm not sure if there are any comic featuring them) was a woman, therefore, the CRL follows her specific uniform.  While it's entirely possible there were male Transport Security Officers, we have not yet identified them/seen them, and therefore there's no approved male version at this time.

I can't help but laugh a little- as a woman, so many of our costumes are male-dominated/portrayed as male only, so now there's a female-only one (that's not a specific named female character).  The tables have turned!  I admit it's easier to go that way because pants are generally considered unisex (and armor hides everything).  All in fun!

The alternative would be find an Officer you like, as that would pair well nicely for his/her costuming- the pairing would make sense.  Maybe that guy in the recruitment center.  Or, just make your own version, unofficially.

I'll be sure to say when I have a source for the headsets! It's just finding them at the moment proving tricky.

I appreciate that the fabric having a noticeable sheen does mean that folds and wrinkles are more apparent, however I would worry that if there are a lot of wrinkles or the wrinkles cannot be avoided or controlled, then the fabric choice for the costume might not be the right one. For Hux, a lot of costumers are using black bengaline faille. You will need to interface it with a good woven interfacing, especially for the jacket, in order to get it to behave. However we've been using it for these costumes for some time. It's not perfect but it's very very close! You need a subtle sheen without an obvious shine, if that helps. Plus it needs to be heavy enough and sturdy enough to make a suit out of, without creasing/wrinkling/folding a lot.

I have copied below the image of Petty Officer Unamo from the TFA Visual Dictionary. It's helpful to see the costume on a female figure since that better matches the costumer!

There are a few folds and creases in the fabric, yes. However you can very clearly see:
    - Flat front, no bunching of fabric around the upper shin, knee or thigh area. They are neatly fitted to the wearers legs and hips.
    - The side flaps are very well defined and sit almost perfectly straight, you can see where they are stitched together, along the outer seam of the trouser legs on both thighs.
    - Even with the slight creasing or waves in the fabric due to the actor having slightly more curves than the thin male officer pictured next to her, you can see the pintuck detailing on the front of the pants, on each leg.

A couple of other things to note:
    - A very clearly visible front fly closure.
    - Just at the bottom of her jacket, you can see the same metal hook and eye closures that feature on both Lieutenant Mitaka and General Hux, leading us to believe that this closure type was standard across all jackets and tunics in the First Order.

He have discussed it with the LMO team.  The IOC will include these armored officers.

Just saw it last night and I thought it was really good.  Especially considering it was said that 80% had to be re-shot for Ron Howard.  Usually massive re-shoots just spells disaster.

I feel like a lot of the hate comes from those "fans" who always think they know better, the armchair quarterbacks of Star Wars.  Their "head canon" and/or fan fiction was "ruined", so they get super salty and toxic.  Thankfully their hate for Solo didn't ruin my enjoyment of it.  I went in fairly agnostic about it and was pleasantly surprised.  I loved the characters, the story, the score...just everything.  My one gripe is that the Patrol Trooper didn't get more screen time, as I really like that look.

If I'm not mistaken (don't have access to a photo right now) but the female officer present when Kylo exits the elevator and asks to prepare his ship is wearing a holster with a blaster in it.

A big part of what drew me to make my Imperial staff officer was loving the tailoring of the uniform. I tend to pick costumes either because I love the character or because I want to challenge myself with the costume construction. I also do historical costuming, and I loved being able to apply what I've done recently with Victorian tailoring to my officers tunic.

I've actually only trooped in my officer once so far, at a children's museum event. It was SOOO hard to keep my "resting sith face" imperial officer scowl going..... The temptation to smile at the little kids was very strong!!!

I mainly end up trooping as Princess Leia, Rey, or my generic Jedi. (And now as Vice Admiral Holdo - the most fashionable of Admirals!)

However, I wore my officer a lot at last year's dragoncon and had an absolute blast! I have sooo much fun scowling at everyone and feeling superior to every being who is not worthy to serve the Emperor. It's especially fun hanging out with all the other officers!

It's also really satisfying to be an imperial officer as a woman, considering the lack of female imperial officers in the original trilogy. When I was little, I would have LOVED too see female imperial officers! I'm glad there are now women in the first order breaking the "kyber Crystal ceiling"!
It's important for little girls to know that they can grow up to be anything, not just one of the "good guys"!

This has been making the rounds lately in our Garrison and on social media, thought it would be worthwhile to share here as well. Great place for a newbie to start when they’re looking for an easy and versatile costume combo.
