I don't think I actually said the words "we submitted this to the LMO" in this thread, but we did a week or so ago. We had some back and forth and it's under review! We hope to hear back soon.

Francesco is working with a couple of us to create Meero costumes. As per his email to me today, he doesn't see a difference between this tunic and the other ISB ones, which is a point someone made at the beginning of the thread. His proposals for the tunic are as follows:

About the rest of my reference
Higher Collar than usual Pocket higher than usual Pockets horizontally to the floor The center seam coming down from the neck is a bit longer than usual Pronounced “V” shape to front placard until belt line Reverse V after the belt line Tunic shorter than usual Center seam on line belt

I re-read the thread and he seems to have captured everything, (except for the belt hooks, which I am hoping to still add in.) Am I missing anything?

    PLOT TWIST:

    WE HAVE A TRENCH COAT!
    Here is the updated text:

Trenchcoat Made of a medium-weight waterproof fabric that is light khaki in color. Two flares at the breast overlap and close in the front, right breast over left. The collar continues around the neck and is approximately 3.5 inches wide. A real, or decorative pocket is present on the left breast. A seam runs down the arm on the outside, it begins at the costumer's collar. Two inch long cuffed sleeves with a single button towards the end of the cuff. The cuff "strap" ends in a chevron shape. <---edit I am removing this On the back the storm shield has a pinch pleat at the top center of the shoulders. The coat ends mid-calf and is straight cut along the bottom edge. The coat below the belt has a split seam in the back. The right side of the coat squares off below the belt and angles outwards. Two vertical pockets appear at the costumer's hip. Pockets are vertical and covered with a chevron shaped flap. The coat below the belt has a split seam in the back. The coat is worn with a belt. Two belt boxes are worn unless a holster is present.

As we have had quite a few new faces this year I thought it would be time again for all to show off their costumes and everyone can put a face to who is whom

The Starkiller scene coat split is CGI... inaccurately rendered.  It is a composite shot combined with static elements that were shot with real actors, and entirely rendered elements, such as Hux's coat.  Normal 501st policy is that "mistakes" such as this are not usually included in the CRL.

The actual coat worn by Hux has no split.  Hask and KDKdesign are correct that it is an inverted box pleat.

As to the leg wraps under discussion, I don't follow the construction under discussion well enough to wade in.  Is there any way someone can draw a diagram that illustrates the two competing theories?

I agree that the scene in the TFA shows a full back slit - but after reviewing the rest of TFA movie and TLJ - I saw no evidence of a slit on the coat in any other scene: no slit openings with empty space intween slits -plus with a slit like that, his boots would clearly be seen going through the slit when walking  which doesn't happen in a video I have include (and it wouldn't be a good look forthe costume).  Instead I found a lot og evidence that supports the inverted box pleat for below the waist and above the waist in the back - and inverted box pleat is commonly used in tailored coat to give extra movement room in the shoulders as well as long coat skirts - as scene in the coat worn by Benedict Cumberbatch in Sherlock (at bottom) - I'm posting what I can now as I have mother's day thing to do today (an dhad planned to post this info with all my new FO research but the topic came up today) - I'd be happy to discuss this more later - as I know the slit evidence is there in the TFA scene, but I think that is a scene drawn in CGI and the animators misunderstood the pressed edges of the box pleat as a slit - and that the actual costume in both TFA & TLJ have an inverted box pleat along the entire Center back that is sewn shut at the waist.

The TLJ coat clearly has fabric between the pressed edges of the box pleat that cover the boot so the boot does not go through the opening:

Here's a scene of Hux walking away in TFA - you seen the flat shine and vertical edge of the pressed pleat when he walks away - but no boot coming through an opening, which is what would happen if there was a slit:

Here''s the inverted box pleat in the upper portion of the coat clearly open in and pooped out in TLJ - and my coat I make showing the same affect:

You can see the back pleat opening up a few inches below the collar seam - TLJ - I have more pics of this pleat in other TLJ scenes

so in conclusion - here is how I think the back of the Huc great coat in made in both TFA & TLJ _ and the Sherlock coat to show how these type of inverted box pleats are used in other long coats:

The strap is there and its clear in the visual dictionary and the behind the scenes photos i have seen , im not sure who the majority is but for me personally I can see the box pleat it's very visible in TLJ and one scene in TFA Just the way the coat moves when he is walking shows there is no split as it bellows out like a cape, I feel both options should suffice

Its super not a box pleat, Hux just has only the one scene where he (or the wind) move it enough for it to be extremely visible, as it lies quite neatly otherwise. There's evidence for one (split) and not the other (pleat). CRLs should be based on what can be seen and proved; there's a couple of other things on Hux that everyone does when they create their costume, but are mostly just extrapolated from the grey uniforms that have the same construction, as we don't see it ON Hux due to shadows or wearing a coat, and thus no one's ever tried to even offer them as CRL edits.

1 Do you want the strap detail included as that's a key feature on both Hux and the greys or add that for L2 OR 3?
    2. Correct the split is there in that scene but appears to be a box pleat in all others?
    3. Totally agree the generic General was based on Hux so should match

Yup both of them had the holsters/blasters!  I want to say there were a few others spread out but at least we have some things to work with to put this together.  Also if I'm looking at that photo right he's another General so maybe it's a rank thing?  Just a thought

If I'm not mistaken (don't have access to a photo right now) but the female officer present when Kylo exits the elevator and asks to prepare his ship is wearing a holster with a blaster in it.

Hux wearing that coat is the only reason I'd say that the holster should be an optional accessory, separate from the blaster (so you can still hold the blaster as you would have before, with no holster requirement). Wearing the holster and blaster beneath the coat, unless you were looking to replicate the throne room photos or pose with it a certain way (reaching for it, etc) will create a LOT of bulk under the coat on the left and the coat should be fitted to the torso of the wearer. Otherwise though it looks like the exact same holster shape as seen on the belts of the disguised rebels.

I appreciate that we don't see the other officers carrying the blaster and holster very much at all, however it's a great accessory and the disguised rebels have given us enough shots of the blaster&holster on those two uniform types to warrant them being acceptable on those uniforms/for those ranks? I'm going to keep digging for some additional pics where I can to present here! 4k where possible. If a suitable prop photo and some text can be worked out and we can agree on it in here, makes sense to roll it out to Hux and then look at rolling it out across the board perhaps? It also puts the groundwork in for that accessory for whenever the FOSB CRL comes along.
