  1. Agree with the position on the goggles until more comes out.

However, can we use graphic novels/comics as references? If so...it seems a tab could be made with shin greaves and the second Mudtrooper belt, open coat, not fur collar.....as can be clearly seen on the comic page you shared.

In the film it is too poorly lit to see what exactly the major has on aside from a hat, trench, body armor and an E-10

  2. Great, and working on it now.  I do have a favor to ask of other members.

Does anyone have an approved Mimban Officer Kit based off the Major seen briefly at the start of the Mimban scene in Solo?   He wears an open trench coat.  I would like to do this as a second tab option aside from the Lieutenenat (there are more than enough differences to warrant a tab), but I need some pictures of a 501st member who has this look (open coat, major rank, plain collar [no fur])

Also I know Becket is a face charachter, but an argument could also be made for his "disguise" being another tab for this costume, that of a "captain" rank, again open coat, furless collar, and this one including the goggles as a requirement instead of being "optional".

I've also been reviewing screen caps, and simply by the way the coats are sitting on the shoulders/backs of the officers wearing them, it seems they are likely wearing the normal full mudtrooper armor under tha coats instead of just the front piece.   There is no way to prove this, but through my own "experimentation" thise seems to be the case, just judging by how the coat lies on the back/shoulders.    This couldn't be a requirement as it's not actually scene, but it should surely be an option.   Does anyone who has contacts at Lucasfilm who could maybe verify what armor Woody Harrilson wore under the coat on Mimban?  Did he have the normal trooper armor backplate?

Kalani is in charge of the CRL team.  I’ll have him reach out to you about how we should get about this and where to post your information.

No one ever contacted me, should I post my proposals here?

  4. Crosspost from the Solo Officer thread, probably should have posted this here:

As the one who worked on this CRL, I wanted to go back into it and rework some of the wording and add some L2/L3 requirements.

The Mudtrooper CRL was recently refreshed/updated and a lot of detail was added that I would like to carry over to this CRL, namely paint colors and details for the armor for higher levels.

I’d also like to possibly add tabs for variations of the costume like is being done for many others now.

Lastly I’d like to update the main CRL photos since I’ve improved the look of the jacket to be more screen accurate (the lapels are oversized in the original version seen on the CRL).

I know that we’ve had some elections, so can whoever is in charge of this now let me know how we can go about this rework/refresh

  5. If this costume goes ahead it will need to match the game IE First Order style pants, wrap over collar etc. Just adding armour to a standard line officer wont cut it.

Adding the armor to a basic Line Officer is pretty much just the AT-AT Commander CRL (just with a back plate).

For those interested, the ATAT Commander CRL is open to any rank at Level 1, General is just needed for higher approval. So you could replicate this just with the back piece and slightly different belt using that CRL

  6. Some of you may have seen this on Facebook.  But the Chicago Police Department did a video shoot with members of the 501st Midwest Garrison in promotion of Celebration.  This aired on most of the local news outlets this morning.

    Here is the link:

Unfortunately I left the Star Destroyer parked in a Loading Zone at O'Hare, at least the CPD got me before Vader

  7. ReedPop, the host of the con has done another general Comic Con for years called C2E2 (which is also at McCormick Place).  The weapons policy is exactly the same and blasters, lightsabers, etc have always been allowed at C2E2.

Typically security will want to look at the weapon, and upon determining it is not real, will put a zip tie or band on it indicating it has been inspected, this is at least my past experience.

They can be hard plastic, resin, or even have metal bits, so long as they aren't built from a deactivated actual firearm (or pellet gun, airsoft gun, etc).

  8. I recall someone selling rank patches here a while back, but I'd have to look for them

If anything, it should be pretty easy to commission a custom one! I know Etsy has a good handful of people that do custom patches

There is an Etsy shop which makes rank badge patches, I think it’s the same ones that were posted here
