Eagle got a reaction from CaptainCunning in SE-14R in Metal?
As far as I'm aware no one makes them in metal.
You can get a merr sonn p5 in metal. If you buy the replica Mauser pistol off denix and modify it. However, I tried this and I don't recommend it. It ended up being too heavy for trooping and it was a pain to make.
I know some troopers will fill their blaster prints with dense filler to give it weight. In your case, ide recommend you do that.
Also if you can find a rubber blaster, they have a good weight and they don't break if dropped. All my blasters are rubber, they are better than prints in my opinion.
Hope this helps!

In the spirit of sharing, I will say, I have also hit the flare with like a bottle of fabric starch, works as well, but gets kinda messy hahahahaha.

Eagle got a reaction from Jankowski in The Mandalorian CRLs (Minor Spoilers) (S2)
Minor spoiler warning, nothing serious to the plot, most of this was in trailer or set photos.
Season 1
The Client
Played by Werner Herzog
In Chapter 7 he's revealed to be an imperial officer. He rocks a pretty cool trench coat and Imperial medal.
Dr. Pershing
Played by Omid Abtahi
This guy is similar to Esro from R1.
Prisoner from Chapter 6
Played by ?
This guy only got about 5 seconds of screen time in the background. We know almost nothing about this guy, we don't even have enough photos to make a CRL, we don't even know if he's imperial. People are assuming he's an Imperial officer because he is a prisoner of the New Republic and wears an officer tunic with a unique rank plaque , that's about it. I doubt anyone will make a CRL for this guy, but I thought I throw him into this list for fun.
Moff Gideon
Played by Giancarlo Esposito
I think JRS and the IOC are going to have a custody battle over this guy, not gonna lie. His costume is definitely a hybrid of a Tie Pilot and an Imperial officer. He wears an officer tunic and either jodhpurs or straight pants, couldn't really tell. If they were jodhpurs they had very small flaps. From what I saw he wears standard ridding boots. His rank appears to be mounted on his shoulder straps. His armor and his ship is where I feel we may have issues. His armor is tie pilot inspired and he pilots a modified TIE in the show. Personally, I think IOC should get him because from what we know he's officer first and clearly a pilot second. Hopefully Chapter 8 will reveal more!
I'll update this thread when Chapter 8 drops next week!
Season 2
New officers in Season 2!
These guys use Rouge One/Solo code cylinders, hat pins, and belt boxes. They wear OT style ESB/ROTJ rank bars. They wield SE-14r along with that holster worn by the shield gate officer in Rouge One, apart from some detailing. The belt appears to be on different ways depending on the officer.

Eagle reacted to Alay in Imperial Military Officer (Non-Saga), green
This seems like a weird take away. I spent 3 years and >$3k on a costume for a comic character that basically no one has ever heard of, including tracking down original artists and writers to get their take on references that may no longer exist or have never been published--and I don't even consider myself that much of a costuming nerd, compared to some people I've met. I know folks who only ever do con events or other "fun" lesser charity focused events.
I mean I've done plenty of trips to the oncology wing too myself, but the legion and reasons for costuming are varied. Some people are more about the costuming aspect than the charity aspect, and some are about the charity aspect way more than the costuming. I think we need to cater to both as a legion. I don't think having a well written CRL for random characters like Xizor or Zuckuss hurt the charity work we do in any way.
During my tenure as a DL, my philosophy of CRLs has always been the focus on the bare minimum approvable costume, and gutting out extra detail facts as much as possible to be moved to something within the detachment itself; it's why I always had a tough time reading over comic and video game CRLs, especially when they use things like measurements, material types, etc. But at the core of it, the detachments to me are all about the costumes, so it's no surprise our focus is there and making the best records we can.

Eagle got a reaction from kman in Imperial Military Officer (Non-Saga), green
I agree with this. Different name, but its the same costume as Warrant Officer. Just with the olive fabric.
Agreed, I think that's a good reason to get approved as one. Hasn't happened to me yet, but when it does, at least I'm approved lol!

I wonder if we could add a second version for the "green" uniform to the Warrant Officer CRL? That would cover the "prescreening" configuration in a logical place.

Eagle reacted to kman in Imperial Military Officer (Non-Saga), green
One Interesting justification I once read for the Warrant Officer is: If you ever forget your rank bar at home, or lose it partway through a troop, you can still troop in an approvable (/ approved) costume.

Eagle reacted to kman in Imperial Military Officer (Non-Saga), green
Yes, but there's really not much different between adding a tab to a CRL and making a new CRL. The process is the same... the tabs just keep things more organized.
-
Eagle reacted to Mitthrawnuruodo in Imperial Military Officer (Non-Saga), green
I agree there is a lot of info in this thread to throw into 1 CRL, but isn't this why tabs were introduced? Prescreening Officer seems like a good one to just be a tab
-
Eagle got a reaction from kman in Imperial Military Officer (Non-Saga), green
I propose we make a 'prescreening officer' CRL. Adding all this info into one CRL is making it too cluttered. I can foresee new members getting confused if we put too much into this crl.

Eagle got a reaction from Hask in Imperial Military Officer (Non-Saga), green
Chiming in as a Centurion. If our TKs were exact copies of the ones used on screen, we wouldn't make it 10 steps out of the changing space lol! There is a balance to be had between accuracy and compromise. Strapping and non visible parts typically are flexible on accuracy. But something like making officer ranks bars optional shouldn't be on the table in my opinion. I recommend making a warrant officer if you don't want a rank bar lol.
Rank bars need to remain

Gloves being optional is fine with me, as long as they were in the green costume. I just couldn't recall any examples off the top of my head so I wasn't sure. I'll edit my post to move it into the Optional section.
We'll leave the rain poncho out until we actually see someone wearing one, then we can add it in easily enough.
Re Aliens, right, that's what I was trying to accomodate, in terms of appearance. I figured we'd want options there, and didn't want to write it in a way that would exclude aliens and require future changes, if it could be phrased well enough today.
I'm not sure I'm on board with leaving rank bars off, though. That feels like more of a "wardrobe malfunction" (temporary / on purpose or otherwise) than how a uniform is supposed to be worn. I'm sure there were times that officers are literally half dressed, too, while they prepare for their day, but we don't necessarily need to enshrine that state into the CRL for someone to wear at a troop.
Thanks for the compliment. I wrote most of this about a month ago... sorry it took so long to get it cleaned up and posted!
Once we collect photos, hopefully things can move quickly from here, if not other major changes are needed. I'd still like to get some sort of wording in there to make it clear that blackface is not what we mean by makeup...

Eagle reacted to snipedoc2001 in Imperial Military Officer (Non-Saga), green
My two cents on this is I complete agree with it. Over at FISD, they try to find how the armor is supposed to be worn. If you look at ANH or ESB, you can see plenty of malfunctions, shoulders backwards or falling off, armor duct taped on, biceps missing cover strips, Mr. No Stripes (A TK without tube stripes on the bucket), etc. IMO the CRL should be based off how the officer is supposed to look, not how they look in a specific scene or reference material.

Eagle reacted to nanotek in Sith Eternal Officer
Hi there, I only just stumbled across this thread today and have to say that I am quite shocked by some of the disrespectful comments aimed at the Spec Ops detachment. As a long serving staff member of Spec Ops (currently DL) we do not tolerate this kind of behaviour from anyone on our forums. We take great pride working on our CRL's and adhere to the CRL development guidelines 110%. If you have issue with any of our CRLs you should bring that up with us on our forums as we are happy to take feedback.
Thanks
