@sundancekat can you tell us the difference between waxed canvas and waxed cotton? I often see "waxed canvas cotton" out there so I honestly do not know if there is a huge difference or not.
Josh, I was asking because there is "waxed canvas" that is ready to use, but I think that the cotton is not waxed and you have to do it. Is that correct?.
If the "waxed canvas" is ok, seems that will be easier to make.
What do you think?
thanks

Would it be possible to use waxed canvas?. or it must be "waxed cotton"?
thanks

@Jean it looks fantastic! Great great great work!
@chicken45 do we see belt boxes on any of these guys? Listing them out (especially non-saga/andor) seemed kinda out of place with the rest of the CRL.
Hi Erza, thank you for your comments!! I think that you are correct. Looking at those 2 characters I would not include the belt boxes as an optional option. Also, they are not "animated style".
@chicken45 what do you think about?

I agree with this. Thank you very much!!!

@kman looking at the poncho again, do you think that is black and due to the lighting looks more grey?
-
Hi Kalani @kman thank you for you opinion!!. I will give all this info to the vendor. I totally agree with the rectangular detail which seems to be a magnet and having a bigger pocket.
The vendor is Sheev´s emporium in facebook https://www.facebook.com/sheevsemporium
I think that the lighter fabric is the mannequin
Thanks again!!

Hi everyone,
I would like to ask your opinion about this poncho that could go with the Imperial Military Officer from Andor (non-saga). It could be made in twill or duck cloth . What do you think about?. Thanks
I deleted the name of the maker to avoid any conflict of interest
This is twill
this is duck cloth

@chicken45perfect, sounds good to me. Will paint them.
my only question if it is the hat gold or dark silver?
thanks -
@chicken45 @darthcharles @buckrogersbarkerSo, it means that this costume will be a "named" costume?. Because, if the CRL shows an specific pattern in the pictures, I understand that should be replicated?. Also, should the name be changed?.
Then, regarding the color, What do you think about dark grey?
Thanks
-
@darthcharles @chicken45perfect. It sounds good to me. Will paint it like level 2.
what color would be the most appropriate?
thanks
-
@chicken45 @buckrogersbarker I think that in the last comment I made a mistake, because I saw the other side, sorry.
I have not seen other character without these characteristics in the hat or collar.
So, the questions would be, regarding them
1-it is a necessary or optional characteristic?, considering the other rebel uniform approved
2-this uniform would be approved as a generic or specific character uniform?
3-if I have to add them, I will do it, no problem with that, but should it be painted, with an sticker or embroidered?. And what color (white or dark grey)
happy to do the best for this costume, detachment and Legion.
Thanks again!!

Hi @chicken45
i have not seen an specific (not named) officer, but in some cases the mark in the hat was not seen or the mark in the hat / collar was different. So, considering that we had defined to give the chance of having the piping as optional. The pictures are above
So, here we could have 2 options
1-it is specific character (but this one had a hat without it)
2-make this generic and give the chance of piping as optional
obviously this depends on the LMO, but happy to make the best option for the detachment and the Legion.
if I had to paint the hat and collar, what color would be the best?.
thanks again
Will post those pictures again after getting home

@chicken45 I agree with your point. I think that we should maintain it as you described above

Hi @chicken45 These are my comments (Blue)
-
Hat
- Without the concentric stitches on front bill extends
- rebels code disk ALL THE SAME AS OLIVE COUNTERPART
- Agree with this
-
Tunic
- Without Princess seams on the back
- With a vertical seam in the middle of the back
- Without the dart in the front
- with only one seam on inner arm for sleeves
- Without the circular seam
- ALL THE SAME AS OLIVE COUNTERPART
- Agree with this
-
Pant
- With smaller flares and cartoon similar I DON'T THINK WE NEED TO GET THIS SPECIFIC.
- The flares in the cartoon are smaller, so we have to consider this
-
Belt
- Has the specific buckle, the code disk goes not right in the middle. It is higher than the OT and the snap is located higher tooALL THE SAME AS OLIVE COUNTERPART
- Agree
-
Code cylinders
- Would depend on the character, but they are rebels style and with red cap ARE BLUE ALLOWED AT ALL?
- Blue should be permitted because some of these officers are using them in the show
-
Boots
- Ridding boots SAME AS OLIVE COUNTERPART
- Agree
-
Gloves
- Black, short, without stitches on the backSAME AS OLIVE COUNTERPART
- agree
-
Rank bar depending on the character SAME AS OLIVE COUNTERPART
- agree
-
Hat

Good Morning @darthcharles @chicken45 @buckrogersbarker Thank you for your comments!!.
I agree with your point.
However, I did not want to do that until defining if this costume will be a "generic" or an specific "(with name)" costume, considering the previous history of the rebels costume in the detachment. I am mainly talking about the previous rebels officer recently accepted which was accepted as generic with the chance of variations since severals officers are seen in the cartoon (https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:Imperial_military_officer_rebels). This is also because in Rebels there are more black officers, not only this one and considering that, my initial idea was that this could be a generic one. It is something that we have to define. What do you think about?. Thank you very much for your help!!

-I really can’t see in those very dark pictures, almost a shadow, the clear pocket. So, I disagree with changing it. To me is very easy to change it because I have 2 jumpsuits here, but I don’t think that is correct to change it.
-then, do you really think that this CRL should be written again?, rewording almost everything only for a compad which could be added as an accessory item?. I also disagree.
-I also want to say this again (4th time) that the jumpsuit used includes the pleated area and doesn’t have the webbing like the pilot. It is accurate.I want to recheck if this was the same used by the tie pilot in Andor.
-I do not believe that we have to include compads used by rebels in this costume. That is very confusing.
I think that at this point the CRL team should evaluate this @chicken45 and see.
-I also submitted some weeks ago a picture of the compad. That picture could be used -
The changes proposed would be
1-removing the gloves
2-changing the compad (I provided a picture of this), using the other one. I agree and recently found a picture that I posted here.
3-“using the adequate jumpsuit”. Without.the webbing covering the zipper and with the pleated area behind the shoulder.
It also has been said that the webbing or fabric that goes on top of the shoulder pocket should be removed, but it has not been proven with an adequate picture.
BTW, the jumpsuit used here was one without the webbing and with the pleated area, so it is accurate.

I have 2 questions if you can help with them please. Latest draft says that the edge of the poncho has approximately 1 inch hem around all edges, but it seems that the bottom one is different (around 3 inches)
then, how may stitches would you consider in the neck (8-9?)
thanks!!
