My two cents. I would like to wear my approved uniform as the character eli vanto. The character has appeared in two canon books and one comic book.
At the moment this is not possible because there is no crl for him. Although it is basically my approved uniform only without a cap but with a wig and other contouring. Therefore, I find the idea presented here good and hope it finds a way.
Picture ist so big repost it here; so if you want to have a look https://www.dropbox.com/s/k6npi9l3ewkans5/uri_mr1559212637216.jpg?dl=0

I find this possibility very good and would be happy if it is all so implementable. I would be happy to contribute my interpretation of Eli Vanto, which is based on the line officer.

Starting this thread for the discussion of the Non Saga Imperial Officer Uniform.  The Detachment used to call this "line" officers for the original trilogy, we will no longer use fan created names when naming costumes going forward.

A few guiding principles for this costume and thread (these are not binding but they will be discussed):

It will contain details and options that we see from the year 2015 on.  The Original Trilogy Line Officer will be not be touched in anyway unless some special information comes to light from those films. It will incorporate options that we have seen on screen from the new Non Saga anthology movies, television shows and other licensed material (straight pants and Chelsea boots versus, breeches and boots, optional white shirt and hatless officers). The construction will follow how the costumes are made for these productions (Modesty tabs will be optional but recommended, expansion joints in boots as seen on screen, etc) Accessories if seen used in licensed LFL material will be added to the CRL.  in many cases, the accessories are already existing in other CRLs and can be quickly added when verified. Permission for face characters to be allowed will be secured at level one, provided licensed LFL material can be referenced.
How we will do things is up for debate.  What is not for debate is finding a way for members to be able to create the licensed LFL characters they have seen in media.   We will find a way and I think this is the best platform to do so while preserving what has come before and we do not want undone.  This is the core costume for going forward.   Having this move forward will give us the agility to respond when we see them used in future Disney LFL productions.

We will be soliciting models from the membership.  A number already have uniforms mostly assembled or ready to go.  We expect at least two variants for the uniform with different potential face characters to be displayed.  If you would like to participate, let us know.

Just curious, did MazCave use the German Garrison's special fabric run to make the uniform for you?  That doesn't look like their usual fabric.  (They're tailoring is impeccable as always)

I would not say the sideburns are mandatory.  They're not even always especially pronounced, comparing the cover photo above to some of the other shots.  Your wig is excellent as it is.

Normally gloves are optional.  It looks like he usually wears them, in the panels above, but on the cover shot Bob posted he is not wearing gloves, so I suspect sometimes he does, sometimes he doesn't.  So perfect item for being Optional.  That said, I haven't read all the comics.  If that one cover shot is the ONLY time we see him without gloves, I could see an argument for making them required.  I don't feel strongly about that either way, though.

Thanks for posting the pictures here.
Thanks for the compliment but I only did the make up.

Wig (forgotten the seller) and Boots (Cavallo 2nd Hand) ebay.

    Brown contacts for daily use

For  CRL I would put to disscussion if necessary the code cylinder all in silver with option blue cap (sometimes it is there sometimes not)?
Sideburns mandatory or is it enough as I did it?
    Gloves optional or mandatory?

That's right, it's related to the rank he has right now in that panel. The comic makes extremely large time jumps, so it looks like there were only two panels between the different ranks. But in fact these are months or years in the book.

Thank you for the invitation to the discussion.
I agree with that. The uniform varies constantly from panel to panel. So it would be easiest to use the existing crl as already suggested.
Actually, either he don't wear a badge or wear three ranges ( Lieutnant Commander, Commander and Commodore not sure as already shown) in that panel the batches are upside down OMG . What defines him in my eyes is the hairstyle and that he is very small.
