I applaud the update but PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE on this and other Officer CRLS (but especially this one since the reference I’m talking about is specifically from Rogue One) - make the hat optional!
There are officers with black, olive, and white uniforms on screen who do not wear their hats. Making it required instead of optional only makes us GMLs punish people for trying to replicate a specific character or specific look with verifiable on screen reference (that’s even ignoring all the comic references of officers without hats). Tarkin’s attaché in Rogue One is just one example but there are plenty of others. We don’t have “Face Officer” CRLs in IOC and instead do that in the Level 3 so saying “you have to be doing this officer specifically to not need the hat” doesn’t make sense at the GML level.

It was one of the highlights of DragonCon for me (and this was my first DragonCon to boot!). I'll definitely be making this event a priority for Celebration.

It’s great. You see a lot of Commander bars on staff officers (4 blue 2 amber single stack) because it’s the only bar for them that has access to that great amber color for a bit of pop...but it is a little boring if all the officers at your event are wearing the same rank. When our Commanders get together, I try to change my bar since I have four different ones.

Black uniformed officers have been seen in the comics a multitude of times with double stacks (and in official artwork as seen above). No, they aren’t seen in ANH...but they exist, there’s no denying it. To be honest if you can match a specific comics officer configuration I don’t see why those can’t eventually be accepted for level 2 and 3 as well (I’d say the same for Rebels with the red code cylinders and interesting ranks, but it seems those will be a different CRL).

Although I joined the Legion as a Tusken, the officer was the first costume I had (and the only one I wore for many years) that I actually enjoyed.
For me it’s the officers in ESB. They are very professional even in the face of Vader’s short leash and their failures. Helps that the uniform is slick as heck if it fits right!

I've always liked the individuality shown by Moffs in expanded material like Veed and Calixte. Ties is well with the Legends post-Empire Warlords too (and even some New Canon Moffs who took over remnants of the Empire by force).

Looks to be much better quality than CPS (what a lot of troopers are doing for budget crew builds). How long did it take from ordering to receive?

We were not even close to 14k before census...we HAVE crested 20k if you count inactive members though.
Here is the fruit of my research into this last year from available sources (for the Legion level). Unfortunately we have been horrible at archiving things like census data and election data from previous years so it is sort of cobbled together:

I haven't yet played Battlefront, but dug up some old convos about those pinholes in other officer badges from the movies. It is amazing that they picked out that tiny little detail and made sure to put it in the game, yet changed so many other things about the uniform and bars! -
After all that paint testing at armor parties and months of glee and waiting...can't wait to troop with you in this! I'll have my 7th Fleet armband soon!!

I'm not a fan of CRL proliferation (that's just personal taste though). I much prefer the different possible configurations to be spelled out in one CRL with the stipulation that parts must correspond to each other. A good example of this is the ISB CRL. The Rogue One tunic is completely different in cut and color, but it was added to the same CRL as an alternate configuration.

Sorry Kris but what we do is cosplay. We exist in the costuming community just like any other group or costumer does, there's nothing special about us that makes the word cosplay not apply. When Legion members get upset about this word being used I never understand it. Our costumes are better than the average con-goer but that doesn't make the word not apply. If anything our units that emphasize in character behavior are actually cosplaying more than the rest of us.
To be honest this attitude that we are somehow special is why we have the bad rep in the rest of the costuming world that we do (along with unwelcoming behavior earlier in our history and in some places even today). It turns away recruits and breeds antagonistic rival groups. But you're right, that's a debate for another time (and one that's been going on ever since the term cosplay came about).

As far as the ranks go, this is excellent. More ranks and better understanding of what the actual term is for each rank is nice. I can now get rid of some of the various charts I've saved once the updates are made. Maybe one day the dream of having a complete and comprehensive chart of the whole rank structure confirmed can actually be a reality.

I haven’t played the game but was underneath the impression the Inferno Squad members themselves were going to be split between Jolly Roger Squadron and Spec Ops Detachments. Do they ever wear regular Officer uniforms in the game that are unique at all?

Sean is right, these things are snazzy but units that abide by the canon/non-canon and formal/non-formal event classifications I would definitely run it by your event coordinator or GCO.

The artwork is beautiful. Also interesting already to see in this preview shot that Vanto has a grey uniform on (adding on to the grey uniform now seen in Battlefront II).
Even if the comic line strictly covers the events of the novel it is definitely still going to be worth a purchase in my book.

I was one of the lucky ones and only some easier mods were necessary. The waist seam is pretty much the hardest thing to fix though. If CS won’t help you when you contact them, find a nice sewist in your area and hand your tunic to them. At least having it in front of them and just telling them the change you need to a new one should be easier than trying to show them a whole bunch of reference photos and explanations.

There isn't one but Rogue One configurations have been being used for L2/L3 approvals (as far as I can tell it is currently being treated as a variant instead of a separate thing).

Side note but on this same topic - the Rogue One belt boxes are clearly smaller, does anyone happen to know the measurements for that? I know a few people are making them but we currently don't have a way to utilize them per any of our CRLs (unless I'm missing something?).

Yes. Keeping them here is ideal. They still use all the other officer accessories (rank bars, code cylinders, same tunic and trousers).
One of the big problems I had with Galactic Marines moving to Blizzard Force is that half the pieces to make the things were heavily researched and had vendors available at CTN (because they were Clone parts).
The LMO team is right on this one. No need to send people to ACD to try to make this costume and then just get people pointed back here to build 90% of it. This is a really good jumping off point to add another standard accessory to multiple costumes for us as well. More options means more people doing the version of the costume that tickles their fancy. Hopefully we can see some black versions of this as well (one can dream).

All the above have it right, the tandy blank needs to be ground down to hide the weld marks - usually people who produce these belts grind the whole buckle all in the same direction so you can't tell they were there at all.

I wouldn't be surprised if they reused ALL of the Imperial costumes from R1 in the Han Solo movie. Despite being loaded, Lucasfilm is still pretty suave when it comes to re-using props

When we are so beholden to this stuff, we quench any and all hype for the costume. I’ve seen it many times (also in our active CRL library I’m sure you could pick out dozens of costumes with worse references than this one).
Yes we may get a back reference in the future. MAY. But if we do it will be way too late and this will be a single digit costume rather than one that could result in a new crop of people getting approved.
Let members make this costume, and if we ever get references that contradict the CRL, update it at that time. We are losing an entire generation of costumers interested in First Order and Sith Eternal costuming by being overly dogmatic on our CRL process.
