  1. Howdy folks!
This has been talked about for 6 or so years, but we are finally pulling the trigger.

We are going to no longer allow Cosplaysky for Level 3 approval levels of olive colored OT uniforms.

The big reason is the shade of "olive" is way wrong. We will still black and white tunics since those colors are good.

The full list of affected officers:

    • Admiral Daala Officer
    • Grand Moff Tarkin
    • High Moff Morlish Veed
    • Imperial Military Officer Non Saga
    • Mimban Officer
    • LIne Officer

Again, this is just a L3 restriction. They are still good for basic approval. This lets us have high standards, but not make us gate keepers.

Like the FISD, we would put this in a Special Notes section at the top of the page and also mention it in the tunic/jodhpurs L3 sections of the CRLs.

  2. @Tarkin99933 the most important thing is that your uniform looks as close to the references on screen as possible. That is what costs money and time, and I do not want you to waste either. I know that you know more about this costume than likely anyone else. You are the expert, and I trust you.

My worst nightmare is that the detachment approves it, and the LMO office rejects it, causing you to spend more time and money.

As for the CRL text, we do not want to make things SO specific that no one else can do them, so for example, if the hat is close to one other animated hats, maybe have basic approval be the same, but add in the specifics for L2 or L3.

    Does that make sense?

I've made a mistake. The fabric I've showed in the attached pics i my recent post is quite difficult to handle when it comes to ironing the wrinkles.

I've attached a pic of a better fabric in my recent post (please take a look), wich is easier to handle. It's made of 45% wool and 55% polyester.

Here is the direct link to the seller:

    https://stoffladenonline.de/epages/ncs244637817.sf/de_DE/?ObjectPath=/Shops/44637817/Products/"Woll Gabardine Mittelgrau"

Sorry for the confusion, please let me know what you think of the new fabric.

Cedric I think it looks great and, quite frankly, you know this costume best- better than I do. Choose whatever you think will work best.

  7. So, the ANH one is a C96, and the Andor one is M712.

    Can we tell if Gorn's blaster is a C96 or a M712?

Looking backwards to the legacy CRL entry...wait there is a typo there. M172 or M712. @Detaleader this may answer your question. Regardless, I'd like to make this a L3 thing, we just need to decide what Gorn's blaster is.

This is a small thing, but something that I noticed: M617

Where did that designation come from? I've been googling and found nothing. I feel like it might be worth deleting this term, if nobody else knows what's up with it, as it may confuse people otherwise?

As for ISB Power 5: Since Gorn carries one and Petigar carries one, it might be worth adding the same blaster/holster combo to the Non Saga Imperial Officer as well.

I'll do some screenshot digging later to find out if

    A) Petigar's Power 5 is silver ribs

    B) If it's possible to tell if it is a Schnellfeuer or a regular C96. A magazine eject button would be a big giveaway here.

I can't speak to the M617 as I just copied the language from the legacy entry.

OOH YES Good point about Gorn and Petigar! Petigar's Power 5 doesn't look silver. I am excited to add the Power 5 to the Military Officer!

  9. There seem to be two main variations of the Power 5 blaster: the ANH version and the Andor version. We would like to allow both for the ISB Non Saga CRL.

    The differences:
    • The ANH version has the coiled wire, while the Andor version has the straight wire.
    • The ANH grip is seen to be brown or black, while the Andor version is black.
    • The ANH cooling module seems to be black with heavy silver weathering, while the Andor version is actually silver.
I looked outside the IOC to find precedent and I found that the FISD did something similar with the Rogue One TK.
They allow ANH E-11 blasters for basic approval, but specifically state that in L2 and L3, power cylinders must not be ANH style, but R1 style.

Therefore: we propose changing the ISB Non Saga Power 5 entry as follows:

     MerrSonn Power5 Blaster
    • Scratch built or high-end prop replica based on a Mauser C96, M712, or M617.
    • Grip can be wood tone, from brown to black. NEW ADDITION
OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable):
    • The wire on the top is straight, not coiled. CHANGED FROM BLACK TEXT TO BLUE
    • The ribs of the cooling module are black with very heavy silver weathering to the point where it looks almost all silver.  CHANGED FROM BLACK TEXT TO BLUE
    • Grip can be black or very dark brown. NEW ADDITION

We would also like to clean up the holster language to align with other holsters better. We would update this holster entry for Dedra Meero , too. JUST the holster, mind you.

    Merr Sonn Power5 Holster
    • Holster is black in color. CHANGE TO Made of black leather or leather-like material.
    • Outer circumference of the holster is curved around the basic shape of the blaster.
    • Holster has a form-fitting contour around the blaster itself, CHANGE TO Holster has a cutout for the blaster's “cooling module.”
    • Holster has one belt loop that is integrated into the holster body.
    • A safety strap that secures the blaster in the holster is present.
    • NEW Holster is open at the bottom and allows the muzzle to slightly protrude.
    • Holster is not present if no weapon is carried with the costume.
OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable):
    • Holster is made of leather.
  10. More good news: since the R1 and Andor Ponchos are pretty close (they are both black ponchos), both R1 and Andor Ponchos are permissible with either Security or Military officers. Previously we only saw Security officers with both R1 and Andor ponchos, and we only saw the military in black Andor ponchos.  It simply makes sense to allow the R1 version since they already can wear a black poncho anyways. Close enough for plastic spacemen and great at world building.

  11. Proof positive that if you want feedback, post something wrong. LOL

Also interesting to note that the Rogue One Poncho entry also does not mention the split.

I have fixed BOTH of these, using the Krennic language:

Josh, I was asking because there is "waxed canvas" that is ready to use, but I think that the cotton is not waxed and you have to do it. Is that correct?.

If the "waxed canvas" is ok, seems that will be easier to make.

    What do you think?

    thanks

I think as long as it looks like it does on screen, you will be good. Check in with your GML first, though since they will be the one approving it.
