This is my Andor style Trench Coat. Thanks to the new CRL, I will now also need a new White tunic.

Personally, for something as universal and occasionally necessary as an overcoat, this is a philosophy I would disagree with myself. For me, it’s not so much about the screen/media accuracy, more so the reasonable historical accuracy.

As I have mentioned, an officers coat, is indeed an officers coat. Truthfully, the only thing that makes it a “Line officer coat” or a “Security Services officers coat” would be the color of the coat. Therefore by that logic, I personally believe I should be able to wear an overcoat that matches the line officers coat pattern detail for detail that goes with my grey 181st uniform.

Furthermore for that Juno Eclipse situation, I think since Juno as an officer of the Empire wore the same black uniform as everyone else apart from an open, cropped jacket instead of the traditional double breasted tunic, I do think that specifically during cold weather events where the troop will take place outside (Parades, Trunk or Treats, etc) it should absolutely be tolerated that Juno cosplayers wear the black overcoat. Granted, it comes off indoors, and if the troop on a cold day takes place indoors, I do think the overcoat ought to be kept off indoors as a special rule of thumb. It’s absolutely up to the individual cosplayer talking to the public to get it across who they are either way.

Even if we don’t specifically authorize it in the CRLs, for inclement weather events predominantly taking place outdoors, that sort of deviation from the CRL in my opinion should at least be 𝒕𝒐𝒍𝒆𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒅 if not outright sanctioned. Besides, Juno Eclipse has a dress uniform variant anyway, identical to the other Security Services officers, so why not let her stay warm on the parade ground and allow her the coat?

While I mean only to respectfully express my opinion on this matter now that it’s been brought up, I sincerely feel like such unofficial understanding and tolerance for bending the rules as I have specifically mentioned against inclement weather alone, if not already a thing in other garrisons, ought to be so legion wide in my opinion.

𝑻𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒌 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒍𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒐 𝒎𝒚 𝑻𝑬𝑫 𝑻𝑨𝑳𝑲.

You folks are preaching to the choir with me! I know we allow basically any rank as it stands even if they are not in the movies, how far to we allow that with accessories? The issue is going "too far" with that we see, or in this case, don't see, in the universe. How many liberties are we allowed to take? Would generals wear the same coats that the transportation officers do?
I am sure many folks have strong feelings on this (and that's okay!).
Just last week in my home garrison, we had a Juno who opted to squire instead of dressing up because it was cold. Juno is not a cold friendly costume.

That being said, I wish Vader had a summer version! LOL

Speaking ONLY as myself, I am also all for this.
Do we do a "Beehaz" CRL, or a generic "commandant"?

Cause, it bothers me I can't be a generic FO General with the great coat.
Would be great to see this as two CRLs, or tabs with specific characters to no clause bloat.

Yes I think this version is the standard "feldgrau" uniform, as he was part of imperial army.

@Bowrider This screen grab was from Episode 4 (Aldhani), hope this helps.
I'm liking this poncho version as well.

Updated rank bar photo and code cylinders.
I have not yet added a restriction of "Only 2 blue tiles". Discuss.
I also restricted the code cyls down to "you have to have two, one on each side." Discuss.

Rank Bar See the Imperial Rank Bar page for a list of allowed ranks. Rank consists of colored plastic tiles mounted on a single or double metal or metal looking bar(s). Worn on the left side of the tunic over the heart, aligned with the code cylinder pocket. Each bar is approximately 1 inch (25.4 mm) to 1.25 inches (31.75 mm) in height. Length is determined by chosen rank. Rank tile dimensions and spacing are appropriate and proportional to the sizing of the bar to allow for even spacing from each other and the border of the bar: Rogue One/Solo style rank tile dimensions are approximately 0.59 inches (15 mm) wide, 0.82 inches (21 mm) tall, and 0.12 inches (3.2 mm) deep. Original Trilogy/Mandalorian style rank tile dimensions are approximately 0.5 inch (12.7 mm) wide, 0.75 inch (19 mm) tall, and 0.125 inch (3.2 mm) deep. Rank tile sizes must all be of the same style and are not to be intermixed. Please note that final dimensions of the bar may be proportional to the wearer. Rank bar corners are a hard 90 degree angle, or slightly rounded. Rank tiles are translucent, rectangular, positioned side by side in a vertical orientation, and evenly spaced. No amber/yellow tiles are present for ISB agents. Color, quantity, and combinations of the tiles/bars are determined by rank and are appropriate to uniform type/color as supported by licensed reference.
OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): Rank consists of colored plastic push buttons (with white to off white insert) mounted on a metal bar. OPTIONAL Level three certification (if applicable): Chosen rank to match a specific officer seen onscreen or other licensed media.

Code Cylinders Two Code Cylinders per costume may be worn. No more than one code cylinder per pocket. Dosimeter style with correct silver clip (no brass) and Blue top.
OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable):
*Only real or replica dosimeters are used.

I have some light gray fabric (in a wool twill) which I'm hoping will be suitable, i will share photos on here asap,
I'd like to have a go at making this costume, if I can. I need to upload some WIP pics when I get the chance.

I also have the rank bar (x2 blue squares) I'll share a pic of that as well.

    First draft.
Spoiler: it's ISB but with some tweaks.
I think we should talk about which ranks are allowed on the attendants. We only see them with 2 blue cubes.
Do we only allow 2 blue cubes for them?
After that, we just need photos of the tunic.

    Description: Imperial Security Bureau Attendant
    Prefix: ID
    Detachment: Imperial Officer Corps
    Context: Andor
ISB Attendants are junior officers of the Imperial Security Bureau who serve as assistants to ISB Supervisors. They were delegated various responsibilities by their commanding officers, but sometimes also held specific appointments, such as manning the ISB datavault. The ISB Attendants worked in the ISB Central Office on Coruscant, often within the offices of their superiors.

Imperial Hat, Black Hat is OPTIONAL but only if a specific referenced licensed character’s typical uniform configuration is copied in full, and does not typically include a hat. Fabric is a medium weight suiting material matching the pants and tunic if applicable. Cavalry Twill or a Gabardine style weave is most accurate. Base of the hat is conical, with a crown about 4 inches (101.6 mm) tall. Front and rear “flaps” overlap on the sides, with the back flap over the front, and are about 4 inches (101.6 mm) high. Front bill extends 3 inches (76.2 mm) down, decorated with five (5), six (6) or seven (7) concentric stitches. Imperial Code Disk is positioned in the center of the front vertical flap.
OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): Code disk has NO notch in the outermost disk.

[[|200x150px]] Tunic Fabric should be a medium weight, gray suiting material. Tunic is double-breasted with a left over right closure on the tapered yoke. Yoke comes up across the shoulder to the top shoulder seam. The standing collar has square corners and is between 1.25 inches (31.8 mm) to 2 inches (50.8 mm) tall dependent on wearer’s neck size. Collar closes snug. Modesty panel is OPTIONAL. Collar edges are closed with two (2) eye hooks. There are code cylinder pockets on both outside panels of the jacket from about halfway between the top and bottom on the arm hole. Sleeves are long, and without decoration, cuffs, or buttons. Sleeves contain 2 seams; one along the bottom and one along the back. Tunic is constructed with no top-stitching (stitches visible on the exterior surface of fabric). Hook and eye fasteners on the uniform should not be visible. Optional: Up to two (2) hooks may be added through the sides of the tunic to hold belt in place. Hooks must be black.
OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): There is a dart of about 2 inches (50.8 mm) in the top center of the yoke. There is a seam running the entire circumference of the tunic, dividing it along a line hidden by the uniform belt. The back of the tunic has princess seams that run vertically and turn outward to intersect the arm-hole seam at the vertical center. OPTIONAL Level three certification (if applicable): Tunic is secured on the right side by snaps, hook, & bar, buttons, or unseen magnets; not hook and loop fastener (Velcro). A lining is sewn in.

Rank Bar See the Imperial Rank Bar page for a list of allowed ranks. Rank consists of colored plastic tiles mounted on a single or double metal or metal looking bar(s). It is preferred to wear the snap to the left of the wearer, unless emulating a specific licensed character. The buckle is constructed from a horizontally brushed metal, or metal looking material. The buckle size is approximately 2.6250 inches (66.7 mm) high and 4.1250 inches (104.5 mm) wide with 0.5 inches (12.7 mm) radius rounded corners. The approved rank bars are here.

You will notice this is every possible permutation. This is a quick reference guide for the GMLs to say "oh yeah, this is approvable." This is to clear up any misconceptions about which ranks are allowed.

We are updating the rank bar detail page to have more information on it.
We started a few weeks ago by adding the approved rank chart.
It would be great if we can add some more information. Really get in to the weeds with the details.
    Talk about things like
    The ROTJ rank fiasco
    Mando goofy tile spacing
Veers's rank badge  spacing (and the rest of the double rank bars that aren't fleet admiral)
Which badges had thread holes in them.
Lt. Gorn's rank badge from that one scene that looks like smaller buttons.
    Can you think of more?

I think that's too thick/wide, side to side.  Somewhere between 1/2-3/4 that size.

What material is that?  It's not perfect... doesn't have the visible rounding at the edges, but I'd say it's definitely "close enough" for my thoughts.

I have some brushed aluminum vinyl for my cutter that might be a good option for this, looking at that.  That would certainly be easy!

I'm saying it doesn't matter. They cover that COFFEE logo up with a piece of metal or something. Unless you just want an all black mug that does not match what is on screen. It's easier and less work to just do what the prop guys did and stick on a greeblie.

We've also updated the boots to "chelsea boots only".
