Great move! Can't wait to see some pics when they start filtering out amongst the ranks!
I can't imagine I'd get much use out of one over here in Australia as it's warm enough in the officer gear as it is! Still, I'll be looking to add one or two to the collection in the near future so I'm thrilled to hear about this decision.
Thanks for everyone's hard work being so diligent with bringing this awesome prop from screen into our hands!

More good news: since the R1 and Andor Ponchos are pretty close (they are both black ponchos), both R1 and Andor Ponchos are permissible with either Security or Military officers. Previously we only saw Security officers with both R1 and Andor ponchos, and we only saw the military in black Andor ponchos.  It simply makes sense to allow the R1 version since they already can wear a black poncho anyways. Close enough for plastic spacemen and great at world building.

It is in all of the non saga CRLs.
We put it in there to raise awareness and enshrine it.

I added the but about the 3 inche bottom hem.
As for the collar top stitching, Kat smartly worded it so the number of lines isn't what counts, it's the distance between them that counts. smaller people with shorter collars will have less lines.

But I counted 9 in your example.

    @sundancekat@chicken45
I have 2 questions if you can help with them please. Latest draft says that the edge of the poncho has approximately 1 inch hem around all edges, but it seems that the bottom one is different (around 3 inches)
then, how may stitches would you consider in the neck (8-9?)
    thanks!!

I think it could be helpful if you guys could tell me if my proposalsfor this costume from my first post in this thread from march 1st. would be okay or require some changes.
I've already listed my ideas for this CRL, because there are some deviations compared to the republic officer from season 1-6.
I also need to know wich fabric (please look at the photos above) I should use.

Some additions or modifications depending on the level of detail you are going for:

The front yoke has a slight point at center front, is flush against the costumer and has a seam down the front center which is top stitched on either side. The back yoke is flat, not pointed like the front yoke, and also lays flush against the costumer's back. The edge of the poncho has approximately 1 inch seam hem around all edges, which are top stitched at the edge of the hem facing as well as very close to the outside edge of the poncho. There is a seam at the center back of the cape part of the poncho, which is top stitched on both sides. The collar is approximately 3 inches tall at the front and is top stitched with lines approximately every ¼ - 3/8 inch. The front of the poncho has a piece panel attached to the yoke but separate from the sides. <-- the technical term is plastron, but not sure if you want to use more specialized terms or keep it as basic as possible. This panel extends down to just past the crotch area and is tucked in to the costumer's belt. The bottom edge of the panel is flat, not pointed. (or is it very slightly curved? i can't remember) This panel has three lines of top stitching running parallel to the edge on both sides. Alternately, instead of describing the location of alllll this dang top stitching, include something like:
Extensive top stitching is present throughout the poncho and closely matches references. ...this way a GML can just compare their applicant to the pictures.

First draft of Andor Poncho text. Mostly a copy paste of the R1 version thus far.

Made of a black waxed cotton, or similar fabric. Top stitching thread is dark gray and visibly contrasts with poncho fabric. The closure is located at the costumer's right side. The collar overlaps and the opening is approximately 2.5 inches on the shoulder, going down at an approximate 45 degree angle to the bottom right of the yoke. The yoke is flush against the costumer and has a seam down the front center, this ends in a point. The edge of the poncho has approximately 1 inch seam around all edges. The collar is approximately 3 inches tall at the front and is top stitched with lines approximately every ¼ inch. The back of the poncho is flat across the back. The poncho voids at the edge of the costumers shoulders. The front of the poncho has a piece attached to the yoke but separate from the sides The front of the poncho has three lines of top stitching running parallel to the edge. The front extends down to just past the crotch area and is tucked in to the costumer's belt. There is a code cylinder pocket in which one or two code cylinders are worn. There are 2 pockets, but two code cylinders can be worn in the same pocket.

I just saw Sheev's Emporium is making white and green ponchos now.
We have not seen white or green andor style ponchos on screen, so those won't be approvable.
I'm not sure why they did a green one since Lt Gorn in his green uniform, wears a black poncho.
Maybe they are for bounders, but don't want people to say "oh yeah, this guy sells 501st approved ponchos" and then someone orders a green one that they can't get approved.

chicken45 got a reaction from Nijal in ANH Staff Officer Update
We updated the ANH Staff officer to further clarify the unique tunic and add graphics to help the GMLs differentiate that this is not just "the black version of the olive tunic"

    Added "special notes" section.
    Special Notes
This costume is very rare. This tunic was unique to ANH. It is NOT a black version of the standard olive tunic. The collar clips on the side of the neck instead of the center of the neck. The yoke closes up across the shoulder, instead of coming up to the shoulder seam. The tunic has top stitching in some areas, whereas other tunics have no top stitching. The rear sleeve seam opens at the cuffs, instead of having no opening. The rear of the tunic has double vents (one on each side), whereas other tunics have no vents present. Princess panels extend to the shoulder seam, whereas other tunics extend to the armhole.
If the tunic is a black version of the olive tunic, THIS IS NOT THE CORRECT CRL for it. The correct CRL is the Imperial Security Officer (Non Saga).

Updated the picture for the tunic to show what is correct, and what is incorrect.
Tunic, Black Fabric is a medium weight suiting material exactly matching the pants and hat. Gaberdine style weave is most accurate. Tunic is double-breasted with a left over right closure on at the right shoulder-seam. The back of the tunic replicates the look of the double breasted design of the front. Yoke closes up across the shoulder to the top shoulder seam. The standing collar has square corners and is approximately 1.25' to 2' tall and closes snugly. Collar edges close on the right side of the neck with two eye hooks. Collar closure edge aligns with the right shoulder seam. There are code cylinder pockets on both outside panels of the jacket from about half way between the top and bottom on the arm hole. Sleeves are long, and without decoration, containing 2 seams, one along the bottom and one along the back. The rear sleeve seam opens at the cuffs at a length of about 3" (75mm) Tunic has top-stitching in these specific areas: Approximately 1/4" (6mm) from the outer edges of the double breast/double back, Approximately 1" (25,4mm) from the outer edge of the double breast/double back Directly underneath the edge of the code cylinder-pockets Hook and eye fasteners on the uniform are not visible.
OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): There is a dart in the top centre of the tunic, this dart is between 2 inches (50.8mm) to the top of the code cylinder pocket in length. There is a seam running the entire circumference of the tunic, dividing it along a line hidden by the uniform belt.
OPTIONAL Level three certification (if applicable): Tunic to be secured on the right side by snaps or buttons, not Velcro. There is no topstitching visible anywhere but at the noted points. A cream lining is to be sewn in.
