These are all pictures from the West End Games Star Wars RPG. I will break them down:
    - The first picture is of your run-of-the-mill Imperial Army Trooper. They were pretty much just AT-ST pilots with an E-11 and I'm just fine with that. Their old description reads: "Army Troopers make up a vast number of the Empire's planet-bound fighting forces. These soldiers wear similar uniforms to the Naval Trooper, complete with a helmet, but the Army wears a gray-colored uniform and partial armor for protection. These soldiers are trained only to fight, and they do it very well. They are taught all manner of combat techniques. Hand-to-hand, blaster pistol, grenade, and heavy weapons training are just some of the areas these soldiers are expected to excel in."

    - The second picture is of a "Special Missions Trooper". These guys are picked from the regular Army Troopers but are far beyond their compatriots in terms of skill and training. They receive the best equipment available to troopers (which still sucks compared to what Stormtroopers get) and are comparable to modern-day special forces in terms of combat tactics and skill set. Note that they still wear the flightsuit-type fatigues, but have heavier armor. I don't have the description for them as they were featured in a different book.

    - The third picture is of an Army Assault Crew Soldier. They, oddly enough, were Army Troopers specializing in combating vehicles, but wear a coat and pants. The coat has several pockets on the sleeves and the pants are not of a jodhpur-type. Their description reads: "The Imperial Army uses surface attack vehicles such as the AT-AT and AT-ST walkers to equal the fury of their assault troopers. These vehicles are all heavily armed and armored to provide maximum fire power and protection to the units they are assigned to. The crews that service these war machines are soldiers with training in the operation of a variety of ground of ground assault vehicles. Most of these machines are crewed by a pilot, gunner, and a combat coordinator (or commander). Depending on the size and type of the vehicle, there may be additional crew members or fewer crew handling multiple roles. Like the normal Army Trooper, assault crewmen wear gray uniforms and partial body armor. They recieve all the combat training given to the trooper, as well as the training needed to operate the ground assault vehicles. They also learn how to best apply the Imperial mindset of rule by fear through the use of their war machines." The odd thing with these troopers, though, is that they are shown NOT wearing the AT-ST pilot uniform when they should be the only ones who definitely DO wear it. I always just figured that all these pictures represent various configurations of, basically, the same uniform.

    - The fourth picture is a favorite of mine as it really gives you an idea of what it would look like to see the Army Trooper deployed in combat. Lightly-armed, lightly-armored, and only effective through strength of numbers and zeal. The Army Troopers, to me, are a perfect representation of how expendable the common man is to the Imperial war machine.

    - The fifth picture is supposed to show a Special Missions Trooper getting intel from a local informant, but it definitely looks like he's wearing the coat worn by the Assault Crew Soldier. Either way, though, it's a cool look at how these puppies could look in the field and how salty and badass a veteran Army Trooper could look.

These are pictures of Imperial Medics (who are from the same West End Games RPG but never pictured) and the Force Unleashed's Version of an Officer. Unfortunately, though, I don't have any game text to accompany them as I don't own the sourcebook they were featured in. Anyways, though, here we go:

    - The first picture is of the Naval Medic. You can see that he's just wearing an Officer's uniform, but has the hard-shell backpack, belt, and bandoleer for his role on the battlefield.  These guys see less action than their ground-based comrades (as is the case in real nautical services) but are still up to the task of patching people up. With a normal Officer's outfit, too, it would be far easier to convert over to a Naval Medic than an Army Medic.

    - The second and third pictures are both of the Imperial Medic from the Wii/PSP version of The Force Unleashed. The Army Medic is shown wearing a General Veers-style helmet (no chinstrap) but I would imagine that was just because they didn't want to render a chinstrap when they already had his helmet done for the Kashyyyk fight

    - The third picture is of, what the game liked to call, an Imperial Officer. Oddly enough, though, they look nothing like what they're supposed to. Kneepads, E-11 holsters, pauldrons, and (what you can clearly see in game) a big black stripe on the side of each leg? That's what a Special Missions Trooper wears and, if you look at it like that, then they're a good look at what a render of them could look like.

I strongly recommend picking up the 1993 Imperial Sourcebook for the old West End Games Star Wars RPG. Though it's a bit dated it offers a pre-prequel look at Imperial weapons, technology, and organization and has aged remarkably well considering how much has changed in the universe since its release. Some of its illustrations (like their laughable Space Trooper) are a little much but it goes into great detail on every facet of the Imperial Military and really helps to give an idea of how it's supposed to operate. You can grab it for about $20 online and it's definitely worth every penny. It's graffiti-free, too, so that's definitely a plus xD

So far I've been going off of what I've read in the Star Wars Imperial Handbook by Daniel Wallace. It's the one with notes written in it by notable Rebels which I choose not to name. I like how it goes into detail on Imperial Army unit formations and deployment. I only wish the publishers offered one without the graffiti in it. It's a pretty good read.

I can't post the images from the computer I'm on right now but I'll try to have all of them up tomorrow evening. I'll do a sort of "Army Trooper through the ages" type of thing and provide a decent amount of images from each of their walks of life and any iterations that I am aware of. Should be about 5-7 images. I will say ahead of time, though, that the there are three various types of medics and each of these have distinct looks:

    - Stormtrooper Medics (sometimes called Storm Surgeons):
Members of the Stormtrooper Corps who have been given specific training in a medical field. The only depiction of these I've seen has them wearing the standard Stormtrooper armor and orange pauldron and they seem to have no distinguishing features from other troopers.

    - Naval Medics (also called Corpsman):
Naval Troopers, Crewman, or Junior Officers who have received training as field medics. They rarely see the kind of deployment as Army or Stormtrooper medics, but have been known to be attached to Stormtrooper units to bolster the amount of medics on-hand. They wear the standard uniform of an Imperial Officer but carry a large rigid-framed backpack, harness, and belt with multiple pouches filled with life-saving equipment.

    - Army Medics:
Imperial Army Troopers who have been selected to receive medical training. Despite being a specialized Army Trooper they are much more capable combatants than their Naval Counterparts and, as a result, are frequently seen accompanying squads of Army Troopers, Stormtroopers, and even Naval Commandos. They wear a modified Imperial Officer's uniform consisting of a gray officers jacket with teal piping and black combat fatigue pants. They wear combat armor and large protective goggles and carry a large bandolier filled with bacta and other specialty medical equipment.

The PSP and Wii version of the Force Unleashed featured several variations of Imperial Army Troopers and Special Mission Troopers (their upgraded version) . Though the graphics aren't the highest quality you can still get a pretty good look at the uniforms they gave them and, considering the mess that TFA and TFA2 made of Imperial militaries, they look fairly dapper.

The Imperial "Medic" is one of the variations of Army Trooper shown in-game:
The uniform they're given in the Force Unleashed consists of black non-jodhpur pants with pockets on each thigh, an officer-styled coat with teal piping along the sleeves and shoulder pockets, a chest plate in the style of General Veers , and an AT-ST pilot's helmet. They wear the standard officer's tall boots, have a bandolier with slots for E-11 power packs, bacta containers, and an E-11 holster.

The Imperial "Officer" shown in-game more closely resembles the Special Mission Trooper than anything else:
They wear a dark gray-green officer-style uniform the pants of which appear to have a darker stripe along the sides (charcoal or black it looks like). They wear a chest plate and shoulder pads in the style of Veers (which is, again, devoid of any rank or marking) and their helmet appears to be in the style of General Veers rather than an AT-ST pilot. They wear standard officer boots, but have kneepads. It's unclear whether these are actually attached to the boot themselves or simply worn above them though. They have a rigid-framed pouch that appears to be for power packs and an E-11 holster on their belts and wear black leather gloves.

Both the Medic and Officer, though, have clearly visible microphone's protruding from their helmet along the right side. I have pictures of all these as well if anyone needs them.

The Army Trooper and Special Missions Trooper in the roleplaying game, though, looked just like a reuse of an AT-ST pilot who had a Veers-style chest plate slapped on to them. While that's fairly generic I honestly thought it filled the gap pretty well and made a lot of sense to me in regards to how the Empire seems to operate. Whatever version y'all are interested in making, though, I'm excited as Hell that the Army Trooper is even getting some love.

It is funny that even in the card game they show the Army Officer commanding stormtroopers! I have thought about the Imperial Army trooper a lot over the years and having been at reenactments in the mud and eating rations, I like the idea of a non-elite ground pounder. I imagined the Veers breastplate with no rank and helmet in od green, no backplate but a green army rucksack, and a larger rifle like the rebels' A-117 or whatever that thing is. A jumpsuit in the field isn't really practical; I always imagined green fatigues, like a sheriff's department tactical uniform. Jackboots and web gear and a sleeve compad, you're there.
This type of load-out would be practical in long recon or occupation missions where you would need more gear, a higher level of camouflage, and more stealth and visibility. From what we have seen in the movies, though this concept has merit, these types of soldiers do not exist. Stormtroopers are the infantry of the Empire, though they are supposed to be only Naval shock troops and boarders, like Marines, we see them pulling guard duty and policing Tatooine, a backward outer rim world. The Empire does not choose camouflage or subtlety, they rule by fear, and their soldiers are recognizable and have a faceless menace to them. They are Army and Navy, and though I believe they are impractical for extended ground combat, the canon Star Wars universe doesn't provide an alternative. We trust in Fear and Heavy Armor, the Rebel Alliance uses camo and stealth. If there were similarly attired Imperial Army Troopers on Endor, that battle might have gone differently I would love to see your take on the ground pounder, but be aware you may not be recognized. I find the whole subject fascinating!

I'm beyond excited that y'all are discussing the Army Trooper. I used to play the old Star Wars Roleplaying Game God-only-knows how long ago and I really liked the way that they flushed out the ranks of the ground soldiers. It never made sense to me that the Stormtroopers, who we're constantly told are these elite and specially trained-soldiers were somehow the only ground troops in the Empire. In the sense of the movies it made sense to me because, if you think about it, you really only see ground troops in high-profile situations:
1 - The storming of the Tantive IV
2 - Following up on leads for the theft of the Death Star plans
3 - Onboard the Death Star
4 - Alongside Vader on Hoth (You don't actually see any ground troops in the AT-ATs or AT-STs. Just when Vader storms the base).
    5 - Vader's trap on Cloud City
    6 - The Emperor's hand-picked regiment on Endor.
All of these situations involve important battles or events where someone with a lot of political power is involved and, so, it makes sense for Stormtroopers to be deployed in them. With the majority of small skirmishes, though, you'd see either Army or Navy troopers being deployed to take care of it. They were supposed to form the "meat and potatoes" of the Imperial war-machine, but I think that Stormtroopers stole the show to such a degree that people just kind of hand-waved them into being the main soldiers of the Empire. I would LOVE to see these guys brought to life though. They're such a neglected facet of Star Wars lore that it's almost criminal.

Imperial Army Troopers would be really cool to so but I don't think they're depicted in many sources.
One further source they were in though is the Fantasy Flight Star Wars tabletop RPG series. In "Edge of the Empire" they are an enemy type. They're also in one of the adversary decks with a picture of one. I can upload that when I get home later today!

No updates yet. I'm trying not to be an annoying customer (especially since I haven't given her any money yet, she said I can pay her once it's finished). However, by the end of the month, I might start asking questions since she has my officer uniform too.

As for this being approved, there are individuals such as myself that will certainly look the part when in costume. No one is going to know I'm 33 with the bucket on. I'm 5'6" and I weigh 100 pounds, so I will definitely look like a youth.

It's also already been passed up to the LMO by my GML for various questions concerning details on the costume, so if they had an issue with age for official 501st approval, I'm sure it would have been raised. It's sort of like jawas being approved for anyone of any height or weight. A 6'2" jawa isn't really accurate, but we allow it anyway!

As an astromech builder primarily and here as a way to make me blend in a bit more with my mech let me set you on your way to the droid side, I mean dark side. Astromech.net is the defacto droid builders whom share a similar LFL relationship as the 501st. The yahoo groups is our old group and we have since migrated everything over to astromech.net, we have builders of almost every kind of droid to include a large group of bb8s. There are at least 6-8 MSE-6 ("mouse") bots around. We have a similar attitude as the 501 in that you can't buy a mech/droid but there are many parts runs to help builders out. With that being said an astromech can be made out of many materials based on budgets. A styrene R2 unit may be a thousand or so, an all aluminum and steel R2 unit is 10x or more.
Come on over and check us out! I'm there under the same name.

More so- it seems that unfortunately (except the Admiral) there is no difference between navy and army ranks. So navy Colonel is still a colonel, not like in The Empire and real world, that army Colonel is navy Captain, or army Major is navy Commander, etc.

I'm afraid it is not so (though I really wish they'd do that). As you can see in the VD, the color of the uniform differs depending on the rank. It seems black for non-commisioned officers, gray for junior officers, teal for senior officers, and charcoal grey for the flag officers.
