Always impressive we can pull new things from these films still. Great research. Took a look at some 4k screenshots to see if there was anything more I could snag you haven't already. Tough as he seems to always be just out of focus.

Excited to get this one together. Made a new rank badge to match the Captain of the Gozanti in S2 of the Mandalorian. It's much wider like how Veers' rank is except in the Captain's configuration. Should have all the parts now. Just need to toss on the new greeblies on my hat and belt and should be ready to suit up in this configuration based on the CRL.

The hats are mostly rigid as they are in ANH, though we are seeing some exception to that with the Mandalorian.
Plus the rank buttons are a large size over the OT ones as well.

Truthfully what I've seen above is one thing that keeps me away from this forum. You only added evidence to his end statement there in that incoherent rant. I've been on this forum for quite some time and the animosity presented in these blaster waving contests is pushing people away. Information is presented and if it doesn't line up with expectations it is dismissed and deemed contradicting. Where is the information to actually help build these things correctly or start trying to?
From what's been presented it seems rather simple to relate the officer's on the yacht to Dillon's rank system and our straight pants officers from ANH. We have this lined up for us far easier than we did even from when I started this process in '09. We have a wealth of information and need to take advantage of it.

You must be quite unfamiliar with video games. You see when you have the model from the game you can pose him in any which way you want the same way the programmers do. I asked for the T pose as it is generally the most useful for these sorts of things. I'm working on getting us a generic officer from in game as well, but work today is a bit more pressing. I'm trying to help here but really feeling quite off put that the validity of these models is a question at all. I wish I had the ability to conjure up models like this out of nowhere. Models like this would be invaluable for reference for doing game style costumes just as we have utilized t posed for clone wars characters.

Straight from in game. I had a friend rip it for us great thing about the games is the ability to grab the models. Figured we should use our best references if we are to make this character come alive.

I just had a friend pull it last night and render it. Not so sure it's a prototype but an interesting spot. My bet is cinematic vs in game models differences.
As for cinematics generally those are prerendered and can be slightly different and more detailed than in game models. It's been some time since I went through that doc but are there not more make officers running about?
In regards to animated we have had the legion build and approve movie versions of animated characters since that is what they represent. Sure we can make it stylized like in clone wars but we know what they are imulating. If we keep along that path Hask and other in game models will have to have their own separate crls because the game looks this way and the real ones look this way. We don't make a game version if kylo with xcoser fabric, we make a TFA or TLG. Point being the game uniforms and the movie uniforms need to coexist in the same crl, otherwise you have a TFA, TLG, and BF2 costume varient. We don't do that for ANH, ESB, and ROTJ so much.

I thought this conversation warranted a bit more than screengrabs, but rather a dedicated T pose in neutral lighting to help us better understand how Hask plays into the CRL's. Like others have said we haven't established Veers and others as CRL's (Save for Veers in armor which for who knows why isn't under this roof) so I can't say I agree with making Hask his own unique CRL yet. The uniqueness of the character seems marginal as I'm sure his body is identical to other game models save for the face. Regardless he will be useful in helping us develop our First Order developments. Since Dice was attempting to make what we see on screen we should be treating our game models and our film models as directly related otherwise comic references and such will each need their own CRLS to remain consistent across the Board.
Really brings out that charcoal grey. But hey if we make him his own CRL don't worry about keeping your uniform clean or shaving. Yikes!

What BJ said, we nipped this in the bud a while back our uniforms are green and always have been. Anyways supposedly the proper color is pantone 449u.

there are actually two versions of the stephens dosimeters used. The other has a silver clip and silver top. You can see it on a few officers, but most easily in Mott's right cylinder pocket. It is really hard finding any real ones, especially the blue caps, I've found about 2 in 3 years of searching.

Found it: Pantone #449U was the color that LFL Archivist sent to me.

I was watching ANH again last night and i noticed for the first time a fleet officer who had belt boxes. It was about half way through the movie and it was an officer who walks into the conference room to tell Tarkan and Vader something (cant remember what he says).
A couple of guys do. Motti has them as well.

Here I was thinking we had already finished this debate hehe. This is Admiral Motti's uniform with me in the background and my uniform is no grey.
Anyways on topic I like to think being able to meet with the tailor/seamstress in person will help you make sure you get absolutely what you want, but it is understandable if you can't find someone in your area. I'd also suggest just finding someone who sews clothing in general and ask. My uniform was done by a lovely seamstress who sewed things for ballet, she had never even tried anything like an officer uniform before!

I have seen some TKs (I think the troopers are TKs) use the back canister on thier belt of thiier armor as a storage container with a pop-out lid for keys and what not.
That is the thermal detonator. It is a part of the costume. some hollow it out and use it for storage like you said. A TK thermal det wouldn't look quite right on an officer though.

Actually there are a few other officers with them. One fo the guys in the Death Star conference room has some I believe and so does Capt. Kurahee.

Its hard to incorporate certain standards of physical appearance into a CRL for a costume, and honestly that's probably been thought of as a battle nobody wanted to fight in the past, or nobody really brought it up, or cared.
Lots of members have beards, long hair, tattoos, piercings, glasses, ect. & would probably not be pleased if it were written in black & white, that they could not look a certain way. So, to answer your question, no. There aren't clear requirements. Your garrison may wish to incorporate more stringent standards though, depending on a member's appearance.
I would ask that members just use good jugement when suiting up, especially for canon/high-profile events. I.e. tucking your hair back neatly, taking out/off jewlery, or whatever might detract from the illusion that someone stepped right out of a star wars movie. Thats what we are trying to look like, after all.
I think its safe to assume the Empire had dress and appearance standards dictating that they cut their hair, shaved, all that stuff, just like the real military.
Nobody had glasses either. Maybe vision correction procedures work differently in the star wars universe. However, I would't really expect someone to remove their glasses if they were blind without them.
I know every actor who played a Imperial face character had to shave off their beard (Richard Marquand) or big mustache (Peter Diamond). I read once that the actor who was originally supposed to play Daine Jir had a beard & didn't want to shave it, so the part was given to Al Lampert. I believe Lucas really wanted the Empire to have a military look to them, unlike the Rebels, who were mostly just regular guys.
Will that ever be written anywhere in a CRL? Probably not, or only for characters who need to look a certain way, like Thrawn or Tarkin. So, essentially, as long as you portray a neat appearance, you should be fine.
No facial haor but crazy 70's hair is cool hehe. I like to give myself a 1 around the sides anyways. I figure it gives a good military look. shoot people think I am a JO all the time anyways so it works.

Right? Trick is finding fabrics that sit within the acceptable range. No reason to get caught up on coding too much but we just need to go with what we know/see for ISB tunic colors.
