  1. I was going to recommend Hessen Antiques as well.  I have not bought boots from them, but I have bought other things from them, and I have been happy with them.  If you can hold off, dont buy right away.  They have frequent sales or specials.  Sign up for their emails and you will get sale codes when they have them.

  2. So I was visiting Disney last week and spotted a new Hasbro toy blaster for Han Solo.  It is different from previous versions in that it has a longer barrel.  It also has some lights inside the flash suppressor which light it up quite nice.  I actually like this blaster a lot and am thinking of getting it to convert into an officer blaster.

  3. I'm not sure if it is really a shirt or if it is a jacket.  The reason I say that is because of the sleeve cuffs.  The whole thing reminds me of a very tight fitting "Members Only" jacket.

I believe that blaster is the new Rubies blaster.  With some modifications and a good paint job, those blasters are actually pretty good.

  4. I barely know these guys exist, they can't ship down here, no license for Australia.

At least you guys get to complain about having to wait for stuff you've paid for, we've got to wait till the end of the year to find out if they're allowed to take our money, ironically the wait times should be ironed out by then.

There are ways around that, my friend.  Just got to get to be good friends with a few people here in the States and have them ship it to you.  It will cost you a bit more for the double shipping but it's possible to do.

  5. I get that they are using the sales to fund the fabrication.  I dont particularly agree with that business model, but I can understand it.  But it doesn't take a year to take your wad of money and hand it over to the factory and say "here you go, start making stuff."  The fact that items still haven't been delivered after a year tells me that somewhere along the line there was a break down.  Either they didn't have their production lines set up prior to even offering the items up for sale, or something went wrong during the fabrication stage.

  6. I think everyone is getting anxious, and rightly so.  We have people in our squad who ordered the Han Solo stuff, which was the first Star Wars stuff to be put up for sale, and that stuff hasn't even been delivered yet.  I find it hard to believe that is has taken a year to produce an item.  This tells me that they didn't have things set up and running prior to putting the stuff up for sale.

  7. For me personally the big question on whether or not to go with Anovos is what color uniform you want.  If you plan on doing a black uniform, there are many sources of uniforms out there that are much cheaper then Anovos and will be just fine for approval.  While there are slight differences in shades of black, for the most part black is black is black, and no one will notice a difference in shades.

If you plan on going with the olive green uniform, the big question then is how much of a stickler are you for the color.  Remember, since no one has actually gotten a uniform from Anovos yet, this is all still speculation.  If you want what is probably the best recreation of the color used in the movies, then you will want to go with Anovos.  There are plenty of other vendors out there that sell olive uniforms cheaper, but the color isn't 100% right, though they are is perfectly acceptable.  If you are a real stickler for getting the best color possible, like me, then your only real option is Anovos right now, unless you source the fabric yourself and have a uniform made.

  8. You have failed. Good day, sir!

LoL, just kidding. There has been lots of discussion about the anovos uniforms here, but probably not all in one spot. Many lf us have ordered them, including myself. Since no one has gotten one yet, a full review of it cant be done. However, based on what we have seen in pictures, there really isnt anything that seems out of place that would prevent them from being acceptable. But just like any uniform you get, whether you make it or not, the important part is to make sure it fits you well.

  9. You can definitely be approved with the uniforms from Cosplaysky, as long as they fit you well.  So if you are worried that it will cost you a ton of money for a uniform, dont be, you can find them for a reasonable price.  One of my squad mates has a Cosplaysky black officer uniform and he has been rocking it at Disney Star Wars Weekends the last 4 weeks.

  10. And getting a new uniform may not be as expensive as you think.  If the only problem is the color of the uniform, then all you need is a new jacket and pants.  You can get those from Cosplaysky for $110.  Keep that in mind even if you try to dye the uniform.  In the event the dyeing doesn't work and ruins the uniform, you can get a replacement for a decent price.

  11. I think someone got those soviet boots before and yes, they were too textured.

Honestly, if you can afford it, you are better off getting a pair of good leather boots. Even if you have to wait a bit and save up, you are better doing that. You can get a good pair of leather boots from imperialboots.com made for you for $200. Ultimately the decision is yours, of course.
