  1. I'm now on my second pair of line officer boots from Hessen and can't seem to get any to fit my feet. I have a wide size 12 US and originally ordered size 12 boots which I wore once but eventually mothballed as my entire legs went numb from the cut of blood to my ankle/foot. I have since ordered a second pair which I meticulously measured and had a cobbler check my measurements before sending in as custom boots do not have a return policy. I got the boots in today and I think the only way my foot will fit in the boot is by breaking my feet. Is anybody else having this problem with getting riding boots that fit? This is a nightmare and I'm out now over $700 and don't have a pair that will fit.

Should I continue to try with Hessen, or is there any other vendors who can make good quality boots that will fit a wide (odd shaped) foot.

  2. I had this same problem. I bought the size 12 hessens (I wear size 12 shoes) and they were very tight on the calf and are very narrow boots (if you have wide feet beware). I took them to the cobbler and they're working on stretching them (1st time they were better but still tight). I would recommend to everyone, just spend the extra couple bucks and get them custom made. Especially b/c they will start to look worn the more they are stretched.

Both my husband and my tunics ordered in Feb. were too short, and mine was too tight in the chest. They're supposed to be sending replacements, but they asked me to pay $20 for each one. We're not complaining too much because I didn't include the length measurements, and quite frankly, I know better. But I did include the chest measurement and even added extra just in case, figuring that if it were too big, I could have it tailored.

Crossing my fingers the replacements come in before Celebration.

I'm in the same boat. Don't want to take my TK 3k miles so I figured an officer would be a great way to still be able to be dressed up. I'm gonna try to email them to see if they can expedite... but I don't want to push my luck lol.

  4. Thanks guys for all of the feedback. They did respond and are going to send me a replacement. I sent them the measurements in inches and centimeters the first time, this time I just gave them CM. I thought I was going crazy, so I had my friend (who weighs 165lbs and wears a size 32 waist) try it on, and it was even snug on him! I looks like CS customer service legend lives on.

  5. Hi guys,

I just got my Cosplay Sky Imperial Line officer in today... I followed the instructions on previous forums and sent over measurements (measured about 10 times) in inches and centimeters and included about 20 different measurements. However, it is almost tight on all measurements. I think they literally saw 44" chest and made it exactly 43-44", and same for all measurements. It is basically as tight as a wet-suit. Was this incorrect, was I supposed to add in extra length to account for movement? I have had many suits made and in all accounts you send the tailor your body measurement and they adjust to make it "fit". Is it wrong to assume this should be the same?

I sent them an email requesting a new one... but my hopes are not high that one will be correct either..

    Advice/ suggestions?

    Thanks

  6. Hello,

I just received my belt from a guy on Etsy (boo I know, but everyone on this forum is backed up about 2-3 months), and I'm looking at it and am a bit concerned that the grain might be making it look too textured.

Here is the picture of the belts he sells:

Here is the belt I received:

    Here is the CRL Belt:

It seems based on the CRL that the belt does have some texture on it, maybe it has something to do with the polish that was done to the belt to hid it? Either way no 2 pieces of leather are the same and I don't want to request a refund/ blast the guy on etsy if he's truly producing what he says he is (see below).

"Belt - a 2" wide piece of 8/9oz. Full Grain leather drum dyed black and treated. I can also add the grooves to the top and bottom of the belt as pictured, just make sure to note this on your purchase. There is a metal stud 1" from the buckle per 501st. CRL standards. "

Let me know what you think,

    Thanks Officers.

  7. Hello,

I just ordered my slacks and jacket from cosplay sky (per instructions in the forum). I also added 2 yards of the fabric so I can have the hat made so it matches 100%.

however, I'm having a hard time finding a hat maker. Any of you guys have any suggestions?

it would be a plus if they're in the Pacific Northwest ;)

    thanks

  8. Hey guys,

I am ordering the materials to make my first rank bar. I'm going for General Veers as I plan to make the ATAT commander armor for him later. However, I'm having trouble finding out a strait answer about his dress rank bars.

In the film, they look much more spaced out than 1/4" (they also seem like smaller tiles than 1/2"). I am planning on using the switch-cover style (love the look), but I notice on the CRL it states:

    • Tiles are mounted with 1/4" (6.4 mm) spaces between them.

    I want to ask:

1: is there a recognized difference between the badge seen on film and one that is seen on CRL?

2: If so, is it approvable, or should I just make a General rank bar based on the 1/4" spacing and call it a day?

    Thanks!

    See you at Celebration ;)
