Haha I thought some of it was fairly obvious too but I didn't want to come on the boards and be like "... Hux's CRL is about halfway finished and needs this this and that" so I thought phrasing it like "Hey... does anyone else notice that.... ?" might be a nicer way of going about it XD

The IN CRL wording is correct. The only INs who ever wore the 451 were the two in the Star Wars Holiday Special, which we "could" do a CRL for, but....it's the Holiday Special. lol.

This the official guide to illustrate all canon officer ranks recognized by the IOC. It is compiled with reference from the original movies, and official EU sources. It is created from a costuming point of view, and not meant to explain every rank's importance or how they differ from movie to movie (that's what fan fiction is for). It is just a simple chart that shows what rank officially goes on what costume. Code cylinders are intentionally excluded, and can be referenced in the CRLs.

Note Rogue one/Solo ranks are only compatible with Rogue one uniform style

I left them out because I'm still not convinced they are rank connected. Gen Veers wore one in his dress uniform, but none in his battle armor. The Snowtrooper Lt wore none on his armor as well.
The only occurrence we can speculate cylinder association with rank is when Piett assumes Ozzel's same amount of cylinders upon promotion. This may simply be because he needed access to the same info Ozzel had, after taking his position.

How wide are we talking? Usually boot shaft width is relative to overall boot size. There are a few proven methods of widening them; ball & air pump, water & soda bottle, ect. The best way would be to take them to a professional cobbler for stretching.

I recommend removing them for photos whenever possible, especially approval submissions. Other than that, no biggy.

To reiterate what Kris said above so it is crystal clear, if you already have a staff officer, are working on a staff officer, or planning to create the staff officer which matches the current CRL, you are fine & have nothing to worry about.  I do hope the 451 will become the standard at some point. Since the staff uniform has been the way it is for so long, and has been (let's face it) our most common IOC uniform, correcting it has proven difficult, especially since so many other things always popped up to take priority for the IOC's focus. I am excited to see this get such a huge push in the right direction. Now we just need all the Cosplayskys and similar makers to jump on board.

This is my current feeling as well. I hope seeing it a few more times will give me a higher opinion of it. Having said that, usually if a movie (any movie) doesn't strike you the first time, and you hope watching it again will change that opinion, it basically means that you didn't like it and are trying to talk yourself into liking it.

I dunno, I liked it but I don't think it was as good as any of the other original films, or even TFA. Initially I thought Hobo Luke might work - we saw Yoda living like a hermit in a fairly unpleasant way, and Obi Wan was a bit of a desert rat as well, so there's a grand tradition amongst elder Jedi of being a bit... weird. I genuinely thought Luke was doing a Yoda - trying to test Rey's patience before revealing his true nature, but then I realised the whole thing was serious. We did get to see Rey being cool and patient and serious about getting Luke's help but we didn't get the right payoff. Seeing Yoda was cool though, but I think his character was a bit weird. Very much stuck on the 'crazy old man' act he was putting on in Episode V rather than the sage wise Jedi he actually turned out to be.

I think my - and many fans' - problem with the concept of the Jedi not being the be all and end all of the Force is that we've seen it before and done far better. In The Clone Wars we saw the Jedi order being portrayed as inefficient and decadent, and in Rebels we had Ahsoka who properly eschewed the Jedi Order to do things in a different way. Luke's way of doing it just wasn't very interesting, and it would have been better, I think, to have Rey realise the Jedi had to end on her own. That avoids a belovéd character being turned into something he really isn't, and gets the same message across.

I don't really mind killing Snoke off - he was far too much a Surrogate Palpatine, and it's good to move past that with a younger man at the helm and a different master-apprentice dynamic between Kylo and Hux. The casino scene as trencher mentioned seemed... a bit superfluous, but the ending battle scene was good fun. Don't get all the Rose hate, frankly, and Phasma could have had a better send off.

This turned into a slightly longer post than intended... sorry chaps...

bjsavage7 reacted to captsafe66 in Proper CRL submission/addition procedures.
    Greetings IOC,

I've been forwarded an email by the LMO, a request to submit and update some CRL's.  He's asked me to remind our members that there are proper channels to submit and update a CRL.

We have a CRL discussion forum to post and work through the CRL.  So please post your proposals, all very valid and well thought out BTW, to the CRL discussion area so we can make fast work of them.   Also, the attachments with the bulk of the work wouldn't open, please post them to the proper area as well.

We have published and edited more CRL's by any detachment ever this year, most of them went smoothly.  There have been a few bumps in the road but a CRL is a constantly changing document, always open for interpretation and improvement.   We don't want to revert to the days when the detachments had no say in how a CRL was worded or presented, but that could happen if some of the type of disruptions continue to occur out of the proper chain of progression.

Many may not know that our LMO team member stepped down due to attacks that occurred over the year by certain members.  That has to and will stop now...We will get no more assistance from the LMO team if some of our members can't post in a civil manner.

We don't want to loose our reputation as one of the friendliest detachments in the Legion and I hope that any of the members that may have "rocked the boat" a bit this year, didn't do it with the specific intention to cause friction in our detachment...that will not be acceptable.

I'm not calling anyone out specifically, but making this statement to encourage all the loyal members to call out any negativity as they see it.

Let's keep our detachment and the 501st fun.

    Thanks everyone,
    Mark Ryner/ID-4584

I also make the First Order Officer Hats and have researched them a lot - in the following photos I can show that there is top-stitching along both sides of the hat crown's main seams, in addition to the single line of top-stitching along the bottom edge - and I think I see top-stitching along the outer edges of the flap as well. In the lower res photos, like the side view of Rose, you only see the bottom line of top-stitching because it is going through so many layers of fabric that is causes a deep crevasse to form with a dark shadow- the top-stitching along the seams in the upper portion of the hat don't show as well in the low res pics, so I'm including the high res pics we got of the hats from the lat movie to show the top-stitching.  In the new movie, I saw a lot of good shots of the hats in which I think the seaming and top-stitching on the back side of the hats (which we didn't get good pic of in the previous movie) will be clearer.

    Here's the Teal hat:

    Here's the Grey Lieutenant Hat

OK I tried to find the highest Resolution photo from the new movie I could - I can see some faint lines next to the seam line which I think are top-stitching lines - you may not see them on you computer screen. I also included the side view of Rose to show another design feature of the hat that hasn't been mentioned in the CRLs: the brim of the hat is parallel/level with the front of the hat (it doesn't angle up/out like a baseball cap does) - this design detail could certainly be a higher level feature and not required for basic hat approval.

Here's a link to the original hi res photo of rose and finn - you may see the faint lines better on it:
