bjsavage7 reacted to AlqVeers in EPVII
I personally wish they went with some of the EU (as do most of us), but hey, reinventing it for a new new generation. Which seems to be the go with a lot of reboots for running series/movies/etc right now.
I'm hoping to see Star Wars on a big movie screen, I've only ever seen Episode 3 in Cinemas before. We should get Eps 4, 5 and 6 played before the release though.
Give me some Star Destroyers.

I'd like to thank everyone here online who helped me with ideas and suggestions and helpful hints to make my costume a sucess. Technically, it's a "Galactic Civil War Gown" but people still pointed at me and said, "Oh my god...it's athe f%$^&ing Death Star!!!"
and yes, it IS as big as it looks.....it's 6 ft wide and 20 ft around...it feature 1400 tiles and EL wire to blast ,people out of my way.
Thanks again for all your help!
Cheers,
Jenn

bjsavage7 got a reaction from ColonelDSanders in Imperial Officer Uniform Color
Welcome, Donald.
Whoever said it's grey is absolutely wrong. It is olive-green. We have seen the ones in the archives, and the one in the Magic of Myth display, and they are indeed green. The uniforms can appear gray in very bright light as mine does in my avitar, but in person, or under regular lighting conditions, they are green.
Army Green Twill fabric from Joanne's is fairly close for something off the shelf. Most fabrics have to be custom-dyed the correct color like Museum Replicas did with theirs.
If you want to be a Colonel, The Grand Army of the Empire (black uniform), and the Imperial Security Bureau (Cream tunic/Black hat & Johdpurs) have O-6 Colonels.
Or, if you prefer the olive-green uniform (Imperial Star Fleet), you could be an O-6 Captain which would be the equivalent to a Colonel.
Colonel.

I am having a custom Olive Officer Uniform made, first one she is making. We'll see how it turns out. She will be willing to make more if it turns out as good as I think it will. Should be done in a couple of weeks.

bjsavage7 got a reaction from AssassinGirl in Boot fit questions
The women's boots are usually easier to find. Perhaps just go up one size in woman's. I'll have a look around and see if I can spot a pair for you.

here's a funny picture from the troop. xD "Miss TK, MISS!" -Lord Vader

bjsavage7 got a reaction from max4487 in Tips for first troop?
The hardest part is staying in character. I trooped as a Biker Scout for about a year before I had a costume where my facial expressions could be seen. I was constantly smiling with joy behind my helmet. I had to practice that expressionless look that most imperial officers seemed to have. I think if you can make yourself do that, the costume will be even more convincing.
And yeah. stick next to Vader, or another clearly imperial character for context (depending on the nature of the troop). I am always surprised at how many people don't recognize a standard imperial uniform.
Being able to see around you and interact with people can be a blessing. Of course, having said that, other troopers who's vision or movement is a bit more limited, might depend on you to do things like watch out for steps or small children, open doors, help with suit-up or un-suiting, hand out trading cards & stuff like that. You may even have to speak for the group if everyone else is helmeted.
Most of all, just have fun.

bjsavage7 got a reaction from bigguynextdoor in Corellian blood stripes?
Never. Ever. Wookieepedia is often full of shatner when it comes to any official IOC/501 standards. So no. Ignore their silliness. Check the official Costume Reference Library if you want to know what you can or cannot wear for approval.
