It never fails, at least once a year a new, "Why can't Veers have his own CRL" thread is started.

Happy Thanksgiving to all my fellow officers and their families overseas
I'm thankful for being healthy and to be a part of the great IOC.

I should have specified "in the Air Force". I know the Navy is a different ball game all together.

In the Navy the Ops Officer is a very specific title (there is an Operations Department) and fairly high up the food chain. They run the actual “operations” of ships movement, communications, information, navigation. Pilots, gunners, etc. are completely different animals. Ops owns the bridge unless the skipper is there. -

“Operations” in the real military (not to be confused with “operators”, who are Special Forces personnel) can mean Pilots, squadron commanders, gunners, random air-crew positions, and their various support personnel, so take the operations title with a grain of salt.

This may be over a lot of people's heads, but I think, given military experience, rank is rank, then cylinders are comparable to skill level/function badge/rate/then calculating LFL F-ups. Piett quickly gained all three of Ozzell's cylinders because he was taking OZELL's exact place precisely. He might have needed them for whatever responsibilities Ozzel kept. He promptly went back to his original Capt display in ROTJ (commonly accepted as a F-up of LFL, given he was still Admiral in the script). Also, Veers didn't need his single code cylinder wearing his battle armor, yet clearly wore ONE, in his garrison/on-board uniform. Cheers.

[MODERATOR NOTE: THIS RANK CHART THREAD IS NOW CONSIDERED OBSOLETE. PLEASE SEE THE FOLLOWING THREAD FOR THE CURRENT RANK CHART USED BY THE IOC: ]
[/END OF MODERATOR NOTE]
This the official guide to illustrate all canon officer ranks recognized by the IOC. It is compiled with reference from the original movies, and official EU sources. It is created from a costuming point of view, and not meant to explain every rank's importance or how they differ from movie to movie (that's what fan fiction is for). It is just a simple chart that shows what rank officially goes on what costume. Code cylinders are intentionally excluded, and can be referenced in the CRLs.
Note Rogue one/Solo ranks are only compatible with Rogue one uniform style
COMMAND STAFF EDIT: There is a more current/comprehensive rank bar guide in this location:
(We are keeping this post intact for the time being)

And by the way, IG is a position, not an actual rank. Jeems was an Army CPT, (according to Glyn Dillon's rank chart he used for making up new characters for R1.) IG in the real world can be pretty much any officer in the rank of Colonel or below.

I have an empty space on my lower back. There's no ink there, but I call it the force.

It already exists. It's Version 3 on the ISB CRL. You have to click across the top tab to get to V3 and you'll see it's this.

Go for it. That's kinda how these things happen. Someone makes it....and it becomes a thing.

One potential problem with this costume is the low graphics makes it difficult to interpret what the game designers had in mind for this officer.

So, it seems the image for the SE-14 should be updated to a HD image of the R1 variant (scope not protruding) like @Dave Maul posted.
I'll be scooting my own scope forwards to not protrude as Dave has done and as @bjsavage7 suggests.
Regarding the excessive text, please see a more streamlined version below @Hask:
Holster, Version Four
Made of black leather or leather-like material.
OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable):
Holster is made of leather. Holster is worn on the right-hand side. Holster is affixed via a single loop over the belt. No fixings are used. Joining edges are stitched only. OPTIONAL Level three certification (if applicable):
Holster is made from a single piece of leather. The finish of the leather exactly matches reference images.
Thoughts all?

Sometimes decisions are made for reasons of consistency, to the best extent possible, when faced with inconsistent material.
But a decision will be made soon.

bjsavage7 reacted to Aurabesh in Ysanne Isard CRL
Just so I fully understand. Even though it was shown in several comics blue row up, it has been assumed to just be a coloring error? If it was just in one single issue I could buy that, but they kept it blue up through several issues. Also, who is to say that the Director of Advanced Weapons research would wear his bar the same way as the Director of Imperial Intelligence? Couldn’t an argument ever made that Isard having been given latitude to have a slave camp built into her SSD would just wear it the way she wants? Not to mention that the Imperial rank system has never been uniform.

I had posted this in the IOC FB page, and it now seems to have been deleted. I did get a response from an IOC admin that her CRL would be updated. I have not heard anything back, and my PM to Hask has also been ignored. I would like to know when this CRL will be updated (it’s one single line that says “rank may be worn blue row up)?
I would also like to know why my post was deleted; after it was acknowledged that the CRL would be updated due to “numerous examples of it being worn blue up”
I am attaching screenshots from the FB thread. If this will not be updated I would like to know which admin posted that it would be updated.
