trencher reacted to bjsavage7 in Revamp
Some good ideas in here guys. Many improvements are being made every day & suggestions are always helpful & appreciated.
I do have to admit though, that the name Imperial Officer Corps isn't going anywhere for a long long time. All Imperial, Republic, First Order, ect are welcomed here, and always will be.

trencher reacted to DarthFunk83 in Will these boots work?
Unfortunately no. There's a huge stretch panel in the back which is a no-go. Don't let that discourage you, it's hard finding boots.

trencher reacted to Hask in Trying to get 501st approved
You could have them taken in and the flares reshaped should be a cheap easy job

Yeah the jodhpurs are pretty big on me they are a small does anyone know where I can get a pair of jodhpurs with stirrups??

trencher reacted to Chargrilled in Trying to get 501st approved
Welcome to the IOC!
Looking good so far. The tunic, hat, belt, boots and code cylinders look good from what I can see.
2 things do jump out to me as issues, although my eye isn't as keen for details as some of the veteran Officers here.
First would be the jodhpurs. They do look a little baggy and the shaping of the flares seems too low in my opinion.
Second is the Admiral rank bar. As far as I know Admiral bars can't be worn on a Staff Officer as it is seen exclusively on Line (Naval) Officers. I'm sure someone else will be able to confirm this.
A few HD pictures of front/back/sides would be good for Advisors to look over too. I think with the above 2 issues sorted (and a good press/iron) you should be good to go.

The jodhpurs, as mentioned, could use a little work. Stiffening the flares and adding stirrups would be very beneficial.
For basic approval, you are allowed to wear an Admiral rank bar, so that's ok. If you were interested in going for L2/3, then you'd need to replicate an on-screen officer exactly, and you wouldn't be able to use the Admiral rank bar.

trencher reacted to Steven in CRL Idea: Combine Navy Trooper IN Dress & Staff Officer
I would not combine the Staff/ Warrant/ Navy Trooper CRLs, it would make them far to complicated with to much options. But I'm a big fan of updating the specific CRLs to the latest information, which I already tried.

trencher reacted to buckrogersbarker in Solo - and new uniforms!
I saw the black and green uniformed officers at the cocktail party wore straight pants and Chelsea boots. This is a variant uniform, they are not science officers

trencher reacted to DarthFunk83 in Solo - and new uniforms!
Yes!! The Immigration Officer (that's what they're called appearently) was a really cool uniform. There already a discussion on some Solo-based costumes here:

trencher reacted to xAlpha in Solo - and new uniforms!
I saw Solo last night (the only one dressed up, but oh well). No spoilers, but I enjoyed it.
And there are definitely some new uniforms and accessories in the film for us. The customs officer sticks out the most to me, but I noticed some other stuff like armor on the naval troopers, &c.

trencher reacted to buckrogersbarker in 501st Honorary Membership List - Imperial Officers
Honorary Membership List to be pinned
This list is by no means inclusive. There are many other actors out there that portrayed officers. We need to fill this in, preferably in a separate pinned post. People from around the world can say when an actor would be at con with a 3 months lead time if we chose to act on it.
If someone has submitted the name of a person here. The date submitted should be listed so it can be seen when it was listed.

I'd highly recommend getting custom sizing. It's not that much more, and it gives you a much better chance of getting a uniform that fits you right. If you go custom, in addition to the measurements they ask for, give them neck, inseam, outseam and shoulder width in the notes. Give it to them in cm. Make sure the measurements are exact, do not add any extra. I'd highly recommend getting a professional or someone who really knows what they're doing to take your measurements.

A lot depends on how fast things are worked on at the Legion level. Bryon is answering emails and messages concerning honorary members

trencher reacted to buckrogersbarker in Honorary Membership
I can note it here. But will anything be done to pin a post like this? Otherwise it will quickly fall into obscurity.
-
trencher reacted to Hask in Honorary Membership
Start a new post containing the names of all those that are currently HM that can then be pinned and edited accordingly, this thread can then be used for discussion, ideas etc

trencher got a reaction from schubertrr in How to better present myself as an officer?
Very true. They were what appears to be off duty on jeda. That's showing us they have a human side to them.

trencher got a reaction from Lienna in How to better present myself as an officer?
Well, I have a lot that I say and do. I have worked on things with my prior service experience. There are a lot of thing to do to keep up appearances.
1). Greet people as citizens. If you throw in something like "good morning citizen. How are you on this fine imperial morning." Or " welcome citizen, so not worry. My troopers and I are here to cleans this area of rebel activity. It will be safe again shortly. ". Try it out. It's fun.
2) what I call the trooper blinkins. After a "citizen" takes a photo. Stop them and ask to see the photo. At which point a trooper or helmeted character in the group gets a down dressing. (Let them know ahead of time you might do it). Mine goes... "Citizen may I see the photo. I need to check that my troopers preformed their duties well.". They show you the picture. Then, " trooper blinkins! You did it again. You blinked when I ordered you not to blink! ". And have some fun with it.
3)if someone is just walking by, interact with a greeting of citizen. Then warn them of viscous ewok activity in the area. Or if near a parking lot. Warn of jawas stealing motivators from parked speeders in the vicinity.
4) more photo fun. When a "citizen" goes to take your photo. State "make sure to get my good side. Not my dark side". Most everyone will laugh. It's a good ice breaker for adults.
5) you could talk about how tough it is to be a imperial trooper. How on jeda you could get beaten up by a blind Jedi temple guard. And had issues with little aliens charging you yelling, Admiral akbar! And blowing themselves up.
Honestly I have a thousand lines. But just work with the crowd. It's a fun interaction that you want. And the "citizen" will remember.
