Morning all. so years ago i started my Agent Kallus build and had an original cosplay sky uniform.
i regrettably sold it. now im wanting to restart my Kallus build but the uniforms that are now been produced by cosplaysky / skycosplay / several other Chinese outlets have altered the design of the Tunic. now by the looks of things, it no longer has the front zipper hidden by the front panel flap which snaps onto should, now it looks like it is a rear access tunic with the zipper running up the back of the tunic and visible.
any idea if this will be approvable ?
please see pictures attached for new design .
    Cheers

Ponchos are Canon for the black-suited officers, so that's an option without waiting.

I know where those images come from.  It was from the West End Games Star Wars Role Playing Game, specifically the Imperial Sourcebook published in 1988.  It had one revision a few years later.

This was the first attempt to make sense of what the ranks were and this book asserted that code cylinders were part of rank.  They were not.  At least that was not what John Mollo, creator of the system did for the original trilogy films.

It was a good try and they were trying to make sense of why there were double rank bars after ANH and single rank bars in ANH and earlier.  These were the dark years where while we got much of the lore for Star Wars from vendors (West End Games, Decipher, and the books and comics) they also took us down dead ends like this that people still look to.

Things were first cleared up by Dave Crossman and Glyn Dillon in 2015 for the film Rogue One and they have stuck to that since.

Not at this moment.  But there are high hopes we will see something like a green poncho in the Andor series.  To this date there has not been seen a green poncho on screen or in any other medium for Star Wars.  The costume designer Glyn Dillon stated that they simply didn't have time to make them.

They were approved for a very short time and then taken down as an approvable item when the costume creator stated they never existed.  The olive poncho is not approvable.   To allow it would open the door on things that "should be", not "what is".

As for white ponchos for ISB officers, we are also hoping to see them for the Andor series.  A hybrid poncho was seen in the Visions animated series on an ISB officer, but this has yet to been submitted to be made as a CRL.

    Please keep it civil.

The accusation of transparency came after he posted in the legion forums and the thread was locked.

Another person posed the same question and that post and thread was deleted.

After that, a Garrison commander posed the question in closed council where it could not be easily moderated and they asked if it could be moved to open council.  Which was granted by the LMO.  Not all of the legion councilors thought it should be moved to open council.

Closed council exists to talk about sensitive topics that can legal repercussions.  This topic was none of those things and it was good to move it to open council.  Because policy should always be in the light of day.  We don't have to agree on policy, but we can agree that it should be discussed openly.

Policy should not be justified behind closed doors.  It should be out in the open.  And I will do what I can to have these policies and decisions discussed put in the open.  Please bear with us.

If you have almost no references to a costume, you can say it is similar to another existing CRL and then fill in the gaps of your knowledge so you have a full costume CRL, even though you don't have complete photos of it.

A good example of that is the new Sith Technician released the other day.  It is based off of the First order Gunner which is based off of the First Order Petty Officer.  only the Petty officer do we see the costume in back and in front....mostly.  So the leap is made that the Gunner is the same... and then the leap is made for the Sith Technician being the same.

Those are guesses with the thought they would have a similar pattern.

Well you're not the ONLY one here that can speak in open council. Those of us who are COs or XOs can as well. Lol

There is still a chance that the LMOs won't approve it. Even though the sources are the best we can get, each one of them says they don't remember and basically giving a guess. All of this is hanging on a guess. I would keep that in mind.

I predate the CRLs.  I’m starting my 18th year in the Legion in January.
We made the best decisions with what we could see.
When I see the picture of this outstanding costume, we should be asking people to prove how it’s NOT accurate.
spoiler: they won’t be able to.  That makes it screen accurate.  The discussion should end right there since we aren’t going for “prop accuracy” like some of the amazing, but clinically insane (much love to you, Fetts!) Boba Fetts who track down original pieces and don’t use any reproduction pieces.

Look at the ANH costumes.  Those F451 things, etc.
    The CRL can change.
We aren’t lowering our standards.  Nobody out there in the general public gives a crap about princess seams and most of them don’t couldn’t even tell you what they are.  Approximately 98% of all non legion people I’ve asked over the years done even realize Vader’s costume was different in every movie.  You think potential seams barely visible not shown on screen on the back of a costume is what’s gonna hurt the credibility and reputation of the legion?
Not as much as this, quite frankly, “weird flex” attempt at elitist gate keeping.
Are we doing this for us, or for them?
Perfect is the enemy of good.

Thank you Bob. I have read over the discussion on the legion council now it’s been moved to public view

It’s clear to see even here in this thread just who is working against the ioc, and against their own works.

Thank you for your efforts on the matter. Now that a light is being shone behind those closed doors it’s no surprise as to who is working against us on this, and no surprise they wanted it hidden in closed council.

Apologies for the delays in the final CRL website build, photo collection and preparation, but the full CRL was sent off to the LMO team for formal approval today.  If they require any changes to the proposed text, we will negotiate that, else as soon as they approve it, the CRL will go live.

this costume has NOT been forgotten.  There are quite a number of members with experience making first of a kind costumes that believe there is more than enough information here and we will resubmit this when more information becomes available, when the LMO office changes its mind or we get a brand new LMO office.  Whichever comes first.

TL;DR: Disney are going to do a version of the original Thrawn trilogy, Heir to the Empire, Dark Force Rising and The Last Command.

I know I’m not the only one who believes this and I’m sure many of you here have had similar thoughts but I wanted to start a friendly discussion.

Those who have watched The Mandalorian episode The Jedi will know that Thrawn is going to come back to live action, most likely in the Ahsoka TV series. But I am proposing that Disney are actually going to do what fans have wanted for over 20 years, seeing the original Thrawn trilogy play out in live action.

In the original books, Grand Admiral Thrawn shows up with a large Imperial force out of the blue and almost decimates the New Republic. No one had even heard of him and he very nearly wins.
He had been sent off on a mission by the Emperor and missed the Battle of Endor, only returning (patiently) when the time was right.

As it stands in the current canon, Thrawn was almost defeated by Ezra Bridger and the Rebels, the two of them are then transported to the Unknown Regions, again missing the Battle of Endor. This is why Ahsoka is actually trying to find Thrawn, she's looking for Ezra.
So at this point in both timelines following Endor Thrawn is alive but out of the picture and biding his time.

In Heir to the Empire, Thrawn locates a secret stronghold of the Emperor, Mount Tantiss on the planet Weyland.
Here he finds the location guarded by an insane clone of Jedi Master Jorus C'baoth. This clone (with the slightly on the nose altered name of Joruus C'baoth) is actually quite powerful and is needed for Thrawn's plans. C'baoth, in return, wants the children of Han and Leia to train.
Within this facility Thrawn finds what he is after, a cloning facility which is uses to create a huge army of forces for the Empire.

The last episode of The Bad Batch actually shows this same planet and Mount Tantiss itself. The Empire takes the Kaminoan cloner (I forget her name sorry) to Weyland against her will to continue the secret cloning plans of the Emperor. This isn't just a guess because the location looks similar to what is described in Heir to the Empire, actual released imagery by Disney labels this as Mount Tantiss.

I believe that Ezra will actually be turned (we've seen hints of this already) and take on the role that Joruus C'baoth filled in the books, helping Thrawn to control his forces and possibly even wanting Han and Leia's offspring, Ben.
It could also be a version of Snoke who takes this role admittedly, in fact that would probably work better in the whole scheme of things, but then I'm not sure what happens with Ezra in this case....

We know that the Emperor is doing all kinds of crazy cloning stuff. We've seen jars of Snokes in The Rise of Skywalker as well as whatever those experiments were in The Mandalorian. Cloning was an important part of the Thrawn trilogy so this all fits.

This brings us to Mara Jade, also first introduced in Heir to the Empire. I think she's coming back as well, and not just because I really want her to (I named by second daughter after her!) but it just makes sense.
There have been rumours of her being cast but the strongest evidence I feel is in the latest Thrawn book. There's a memory in that which plays out a scene from the Legends book Outbound Flight. It is told from the point of view of Thrawn's brother Thrass. It's the last thing he experiences before he sacrifices himself in order to save many lives.
Years later, again within Legends, Luke Skywalker and Mara Jade find his remains and work out what happened to the Outbound Flight mission.
By including this scene in his latest book, Timothy Zahn has pretty much made the book Outbound Flight canon again. Well, a bit of it. Not quite making Mara canon but it's close, it’s so close.
But, and this makes me sad, I think Mara will die. And this is one of the reasons which led to Luke's self-exile in The Force Awakens.

The current canon time period fits for these events to take place. If things do play out similar to the books, there's no reason why they would effect the sequel trilogy too much.
people might say that they’re never mentioned so how could they have happened. I’d argue that we don’t always go about talking about things that happened in the past all the time just in case someone is filming us.

I'm not exactly sure how Ahsoka will fit into things though. I'm not saying things are going to be exactly the same, but they will be similar. Evidence just keeps stacking up.
    It's so exciting.
Would love to hear other people’s thoughts on this.
