  1. Hi IOC,

We JUST received this information for a March at Celebration Chicago:

Hello everybody, we FINALLY have official details on the Galactic March at Celebration. Due to several logistical issues, we are unfortunately starting sign-ups for this event much later than anticipated.

The Galactic March will take place on Saturday, April 13th at 3 PM.

The parade will take place entirely within the building.

Meet-up and then step-off. at the multi-club booth at 3 PM.
Sign-up will be first come, first served at the link below.
We will take the first 10 signups from each 501st and Rebel Legion detachment
and 20 members each for MMCC, GA, DB, SG and TDE

If you have access to a parade flag, we encourage you to bring it. Any other questions let me know and I will do my best to get them answered ASAP.

  2. Thanks for bringing this issue up. We don't have an Official mandate stating the Anovos uniform is ready for L2 and above. I agree with you that the CRL should be met for L2.

I do remember having a series of conversations when Anovos released their uniform in which we decided that the mid seam would have to be added to the costume for L2/3 levels to be awarded. There was further some conversations on the actual seam itself and the fact that it is hidden, and whether or not the requirement text should be adjusted, or even if it should be there at all. There appears to have been miscommunications.

I believe we should resurrect those discussions, and make a conclusive ruling, keeping in mind that no supplier is ever (or should ever be) auto-ready for L2 and above.

I applaud your diligence, as a GML, to educate your members in the building of a costume to attain higher approval levels.

  3. I became aware of the 501st by accident. I bought my TK armor on Ebay, just to put on display. At the same time, I ran across the Documentary about the 501st on the Star Wars Blue ray set and thought that looked pretty cool. I stumbled onto the FISD forum to figure out the specs I needed to apply. Then I contacted my local Garrison, Bloodfin at the time. After a couple of tweeks, I was in.

After a few months of trooping my TK butt off, I thought to my self, "Wow, a soft costume would be great..."  I started with a Bridge Crewman and soon after a Black Staff Officer.  That was about the time Celebration 6 happened.  There I ran into BJ and Paul, we struck it off right away.

A little later, they started the Executor/Imperator program.  Since I was a Centurion, I thought I'd go for Executor with my Staff Officer and I was the first Executor.  That's when Paul and BJ came to me to Offer me the chance to be the First Deployment Officer in the IOC.  I accepted and the rest is History.
