Just to add to this, depending on what uniform you want to do, if you require a hat, you can ask CosplaySky to send you extra material that matches your uniform to make an accurate matching hat. I dont remember how much the extra material costs but its a bit pricey. 
 
I bought my belt and rank bar from TiggWolf and they are both awesome. 

Well, you can always start out as an Imperial Bridge Crewman, this costume can also be used as a base for a Tie Pilot, Tie Reserve Pilot, Imperial Navy Trooper, and Imperial Gunner if you wish to branch out.

Cosplaysky is probably the cheapest and most popular choice but most of the time will need some extra work to get it up to standard .Boots are usually the most expensive part

Just got tipped off that these surplus 1940's Polish Dosimeters are for sale cheap at Sportsman's Guide. I think if you shorten the clip a little bit they'd be great for type B cylinders like Motti and Tagge carry, and may work for many Rogue One officers! I just bought 6 to check them out, with my membership I get free shipping so I got 6 for 14 bucks! You can't beat that price in this hobby, last surplus dosimeters i've seen were German 1960's ones and they were 30 credits. Check them out, what do you guys think?

it was 15 years ago today that I married my best friend. Incredible how time goes bu so quickly. She is my best friend and my partner in all respects of my life. I do not know what I would do without her . She has always been there for me and certainly saved my life on more than one occasion. I love her dearly and am truly blessed. Now, if I could get her to put on a costume and join the 501st she would bring balance to the Force.

Thanks, I appreciate it. I am looking forward to being able to post some pics of my uniform so far over the weekend. I have been working on stuff, waiting for other things to come in and waiting for payday to get some other things I need. It has been a crazy, but fun ride so far. The 501st seemed like the ultimate way to express my Imperial insanity and when I learned about the IOC, well that sealed the deal.

I had to post a lot to get Executive Officer...lol!

Here is a pic from an event that is close to my heart.  I was leading the Northern Darkness Garrison as we appeared and participated in the Out of Darkness Walk for Suicide awareness and prevention in Ft. Wayne, Indiana yesterday.
 
Most of you don't know that I have lost 2 children to suicide.  My beautiful daughter Jessica in 1999 and my adopted son Greg in 2013.  This pic was taken on October 2 which is 1 day before the day, 17 years ago that I lost Jessica.  It was a very emotional day for me and all of my NDG/501st family were there for me.
 
The 501st is filled with great and caring people.  I'm blessed to know all of you!

I am so sorry to hear that you lost not one but two children.
Suicide has touched my family as well, though not as closely as yours.

I am truly sorry for your loss Mark. As a parent I can only imagine how you must feel. From the look of your photo it is truly inspiring how many of your fellow troopers are marching beside you. I hope one day to have the honour to march with you all.

Excellent!!

I used Scotch-Brite scuff pads to polish the face to a dull, brush finish. Just lay the buckle face down on the scuff pad and move it back and forth, horizontally, this is important to give the brush effect one direction instead of multiple scratch areas. Then I drilled a hole in the exact center of the buckle to mount the code disk that was aluminum with the center hole drilled and tapped out, it is mounted with a machine screw from the back side. You can glue it with a good grade of superglue, but they tend to be knocked off.
Another trick I did is to glue a small shim of leather to the back of the buckle at the pin to offset the distance from the belt due to the size of the mounting loop for the belt.

Actually, as a GML, I prefer the candidate contact me and/or the Garrison first, we can  walk them through the process and save some extra steps.  We can get to know each other and even have a future member come help out at troops to get a feel for what we do.
