Be sure to take lots of pictures with your uniform on at your earliest leisure after you get all the work done to it, I'm dying to see how their products look on everybody!

I wish they had this stuff already figured out before they started to preorders, and making us waits for months and months.

I swung by the Anovos booth several times this weekend and spoke with the Project Manager for the IO uniform.  According to what he told me it was based on Tarkin's actual uniform from ANH. They were able see the original artifact and studied many photos as well since it has been almost 40 years since it was made. We spoke on the subject and the uniform is based on the artifact itself and not 501st Standards. That being said, I looked over the garment and from what I could see, the major points have been hit. No top-stitching, princess back, chest dart, snaps for closures, etc. They already know of a few details that need fixing, especially the collar which will be taller and close all the way. A nice detail is that it will have a detachable collar liner as was standard on German tunics (they'll save your neck...literally).

The breeches are NOT simply cut like regular trousers with disproportionate flares as is the case with the Cosplaysky. The flares are subtle (like WWI breeches), but that was one of a few things to be improved. They will have more of flare to be more SA. The legs taper and have lace up calves as is standard on true riding breeches (jodphurs).

The thing to remember is this....the uniform that was at the booth is the very first and only existing prototype Anovos has right now. It was just finished last week in time for SDCC. As mentioned above, it is made of a very nice cavalry type twill or wool gab and is fully lined with an acetate type lining, but the production uniforms will be made with rayon linings which was very common amongst original German uniforms (IO uniforms are basically taken from WWI Chevaulager Cavarly uniforms). The uniform is a legitimate garment. The material is sturdy and thick and will be on the warm side that is for sure. As with any real suit you buy that is not tailored made for you, you'll have to get it tailored.

Yes, there will be a standard and premium version. I didn't the details on what the differences would be.

Ok....the biggest question of all is this........... cost. I was quoted at the $500-$600 range. Now again, once these are finalized and go into production, there may or may not be an increase.

My phone was dead at the time I was not able to get any photos. As any of you who were there know, the Anovos booth was ALWAYS crammed with people and was on one of the most crowded isles of the con. My buddy was able to snap this shot of me in the Anovos prototype tunic. I was told it was a about  size 42L which felt right since I'm about a 40R. Forgive the face....day 3 of SDCC for me and I was smoked:

Yeah, another good one is in my experience kids love to force choke me. So i get really into character, i go on my knees reach for them to stop and gag, push all my blood to my face and croak. The kids always get a kick out of that.

I had this random thought, and I thought it'd be pretty cool/funny if we had our own Meme thread where members could post memes about trooping and costuming as an officer or just trooping and costuming star wars in general. It would be great for "Esperit de Corps"/ If it takes off, that's great, if it dosen't, oh well. So to start off, i'll try my hand at this.....

Greetings everybody!! I wish you all a very happy Star Wars Day!!
I'm really glad that Star Wars is a thing. It's something I care for quite deeply. I'm sure most of you on here and even elsewhere in the world will agree. This is such a great community. I'm very happy that there are other people out there who enjoy the Star Wars saga and culture as much as I (and perhaps in some cases even MORE so!). It truly is such a great part of life. To some of us, liking Star Wars is a form of hanging on to our great childhoods. I'm sure some of us will never grow up from it. And the more we take Star Wars seriously- be it through our costuming, toys, games, books, etc- the more we prove that point, heh heh!
I'd like to thank the makers of Star Wars for making what they did, in all its glory. You guys gave so much of us something to really enjoy; something that will forever remain a part of our lives, BIG time.
I would also like to thank all the great fans of Star Wars, too! Yes, that's right, that means YOU! I like to think that it is WE who make Star Wars as great as it is, too! After all, it's people like us who make things like this great costuming organization meant for spreading the love of Star Wars, and feeling like we are from the movies! We are a big part in making Star Wars the legend it is, just remember that! Thank you all, so very much! Life is much better with people like us in it! I'm so happy for all that we have right now that I think I could even find it in myself to hug a rebel, haha! Keep up with the good work, people!
I hope everybody finds a great way to celebrate Star Wars Day today! (I know what I'M watching today.....) May we all preserve the supreme greatness of those grand old movies and everything that spawned from them!!!
    MERRY STAR WARS DAY!!!
Would anybody like to take the time to share with everybody else a fun memory/memories of seeing Star Wars for the first (or umpteenth) time? Or share a fun story about something else Star Wars related?

I like the idea of 3 more movies since that is what Lucas originally intended. However i an concerned that without him directing it wont be "his" story. Whether that is considered good or bad is an individual choice. What has me concerned is that even after that they plan to release a movie every 3 years or so. Somehow the idea of watching Star Wars Episode 20 in the distant future is a bit disturbing.

I had the same issue. When I got them I was so excited, and then I tried to put them on and was like"what the hell????????" brute force is indeed required, and yes you can hurt the boot, especially if your pulls are canvas, not leather. Those suckers will tear! You can also hurt yourself, as I did. Pulled a muscle along my ribs trying to get them on. Out of the gym for a month. I kid you not. Most embarrassing stupid injury ever.
And no, do NOT put these suckers on until you get the tool to remove them, at least not unless you relish sleeping and showering in them while you wait for Amazon to overnight it to you!!! LOL!
