I got an email this morning. I'll get the full list up tonight, but from what I'm told if you signed up, you're in.
Don't hold me to that. I haven't had a chance to look the list over. But the gist of the email was that they got everyone who signed up.
Full details after work.

Hi IOC,
We JUST received this information for a March at Celebration Chicago:
Hello everybody, we FINALLY have official details on the Galactic March at Celebration. Due to several logistical issues, we are unfortunately starting sign-ups for this event much later than anticipated. The Galactic March will take place on Saturday, April 13th at 3 PM. The parade will take place entirely within the building. Meet-up and then step-off. at the multi-club booth at 3 PM. Sign-up will be first come, first served at the link below. We will take the first 10 signups from each 501st and Rebel Legion detachment and 20 members each for MMCC, GA, DB, SG and TDE If you have access to a parade flag, we encourage you to bring it. Any other questions let me know and I will do my best to get them answered ASAP. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSc7PilMaWUas4_CBNYj4W0-cG8b3pSk4ITp36en5YYvNI-QVA/viewform?fbclid=IwAR1DVtaLtGixKwVtWzcP4RPiEagZyG5FxVEROOAodeBCYND1cz0y85ZbQoE -

redforce reacted to captsafe66 in CRL announcement.
Hi there everyone.
I just want to make a quick announcement about the CRL process. Since we have a new LMO rep this year and a New LMO in charge of the LMO office, there will be a brief delay in any updates for new CRL being finalized or published. Hopefully by mid March, things will be up and running. However, that doesn't mean the preliminary work in this forum needs to stop.
Thanks for all the great input.

redforce reacted to captsafe66 in Proper CRL submission/addition procedures.
Greetings IOC,
I've been forwarded an email by the LMO, a request to submit and update some CRL's. He's asked me to remind our members that there are proper channels to submit and update a CRL.
We have a CRL discussion forum to post and work through the CRL. So please post your proposals, all very valid and well thought out BTW, to the CRL discussion area so we can make fast work of them. Also, the attachments with the bulk of the work wouldn't open, please post them to the proper area as well.
We have published and edited more CRL's by any detachment ever this year, most of them went smoothly. There have been a few bumps in the road but a CRL is a constantly changing document, always open for interpretation and improvement. We don't want to revert to the days when the detachments had no say in how a CRL was worded or presented, but that could happen if some of the type of disruptions continue to occur out of the proper chain of progression.
Many may not know that our LMO team member stepped down due to attacks that occurred over the year by certain members. That has to and will stop now...We will get no more assistance from the LMO team if some of our members can't post in a civil manner.
We don't want to loose our reputation as one of the friendliest detachments in the Legion and I hope that any of the members that may have "rocked the boat" a bit this year, didn't do it with the specific intention to cause friction in our detachment...that will not be acceptable.
I'm not calling anyone out specifically, but making this statement to encourage all the loyal members to call out any negativity as they see it.
Let's keep our detachment and the 501st fun.
Thanks everyone,
Mark Ryner/ID-4584

redforce reacted to gmrhodes13 in This Years 501st Legion Census Has Begun
501st Legion Census has begun, it is the responsibility of all 501st approved members to fill out the census each year which you can find here https://www.501st.com/memberDB/
You must be registered on the main forums to participate in the census http://www.501st.com/forum/index.php
Here's what the charter says about activity definitions: Operations Protocol/Membership http://www.501st.com/databank/OperationsProtocol#Section_2:_Membership
An Active Member is defined as a member in good standing who meets the following requirements:
• Meets all 501st Membership Requirements (i.e. ownership of an approved costume, is over 18 years of age, etc).
• Has an approved membership record in the 501st Legion Membership Database
• Maintains active contact with their Garrison CO or GML. Active contact and participation will be confirmed during the annual Legion Census held each year during the month of October.
• Maintains contact information/membership record in the 501st Legion database either through their Garrison CO or GML.
• Participates in at least one Garrison or Legion activity per year while wearing an approved 501st costume owned by said member as recorded in the Legion Census. (One year is defined as the period from Legion Census to Legion Census). Examples of an activity include, but are not limited to conventions, charity events, or any activity designated as an official event by a coordinating administrative unit of the Legion.
• Members who serve in military branches are exempt from activity level requirements if their service renders them unable to meet these requirements.
These Minimum Activity Level Requirements should be administered as justly and with as much common sense as possible.
A member may retain active status, even if they do not meet all of the requirements listed above at the discretion of their unit Commanding Officer or Legion Command.
Filling out the census only takes a few minutes and you also have the opportunity to update your contact information ie: address, email, phone and so on.
The LAST EVENT TROOPED is the most important piece of data. If it is not within the last 12 months of the census, you may be marked RESERVE, which will mean you will not be able to vote in the next election.
Any questions you have in regards to the census please contact either your GCO (garrison commanding officer) or your GML (garrison membership liaison)
So stand up and be counted troopers.

After all the discussion above, my suggestion would be making the following addition to the "Optional Accessories" list on the ID - Imperial Staff Officer (Black) CRL. What do you think of this, everyone? Closer to what you had in mind, @nocternus?
-
redforce reacted to Ruthar in Rogue One Ranked Naval Officer
Just to summarize my thinking for clarity:
Level One would allow the addition of the Navy Helmet. Level Two would require the Navy Helmet with the appropriate Rogue One accessories (2 belt boxes, 2 code cylinders, and correct Lt. rank badge) Level Three would require the Rogue One accessories to be the exact Rogue One replicas (silver clips, larger push buttons, and specific belt box dimensions) -

Along with the tweets, I tried to confirm a few other things, first being the gloves. Looking at the screenshots with a little light adjustment, we can confirm that the Captain wears gauntlet style gloves in this image:

Also, thanks to this picture of a tunic-wearing Navy Trooper in the Rogue One Visual Guide, I think it's safe to say that the gauntlet gloves do not have the three stitching lines on the back:

Armed with this new info and the Tweets, I put together a combination of my Staff Officer and my Navy Trooper to get something as close as I could:

What I thought was interesting from the Tweets was that Glyn mentioned that this was "security officer...captain." If we were to add a CRL for it, perhaps we could make a third entry for the Navy Trooper in the IOC list - "IN - Imperial Navy Trooper: Security Officer" (or something of that sort) to reflect the distinction.
Definitely exciting to be able to move forward. What do you all think?

I have good news! I reached out to Glyn Dillon, costume designer for Rogue One, via Twitter to help us along with our research. He was a huge help in confirming a detail for the AT-ACT Driver for that CRL creation process, so I figured I would try again. You can check out screenshots of the conversation below (and here is a link to the Tweets directly).

HI Stephanie. While I'm not an "expert" in that costume specifically, being in White Plains put you squarely in Empire City Garrison territory. I visit family up in Ardsley all the time. I believe we have one member who has done this character specifically and I know of several others outside our Garrison who have pulled it off brilliantly. I would be more than willing to work with you in facilitating getting this done, but of course if we have another advisor on here who would like to jump on board, I would be delighted for their input. Feel free to pm me here and make sure you register over on the ECG forum and say Hi as well. Looking forward to trooping with you soon enough

redforce reacted to captsafe66 in Welcome to Ask an Advisor
Excellent! Welcome all new cadets! Having some issues? Need some special assistance? Well then you're in the right place!! Ask your questions and use their knowledge, they're begging you.
No question is trivial, everything deserves an answer.
Welcome to the IOC, we're here to help.
-
redforce reacted to lantern2745 in Welcome to Ask an Advisor
Greetings Imperial Cadets! If you are reading this, you have begun or will soon begin constructing one (or more) of the many IOC costumes within the 501st Legion.
The IOC Command Staff, and IOC Advisors are here to help you to be successful in this proccess.
To that end, this area will be for you, Cadet, to ask questions specific to your costume build, and have them answered by an Advisor.
Additionally, if you decide you would like to have one on one mentoring by an Advisor, this section will be here for you to make that request.
One question you may already have is, "What's an Advisor?".
An Advisor is a 501st member with an approved IOC costume appointed by IOC Command Staff to assist new members.
If you are more comfortable asking questions in a one to one setting, reply in the "Requesting an Advisor" section HERE using the format at the start of that thread.
Upon seeing your request, an Advisor will volunteer to work closely with you as you progress through your build.
Be aware that it may take a day or two for you to be paired with the right Advisor.
As a note - When asking a question please do two things;
Make the title to your thread as short, yet detailed as you can. Don't just title it, "Question" or "Does Anyone Know...". If it's regarding boots, you could title it, "Will these boots work?" or "How do you care for boots?". Scan the titles of (or preferably read entire) threads that have come before you. If someone is having or has had the same issue, you may save time (yours, ours, everyone's) by reading before posting.
Thank you for reading, and we look forward to helping you join the Imperial Officer Corps!
