  1. Not quite.  "Believe" is slightly stronger than what is actually going on in my head.  My interpretation of the lines you mention in the book is slightly different, but I'm not married to it, and the option for edits that you quoted is the first that came to mind.  But not the only.

This thread is a "Possible What to Do Brainstorming and Research Thread" .... Not a "Cari Gonna Do This For Sure Thread".

As it stands right now, there are no changes that will be performed on Warrant or Navy Trooper - Dress CRL.

  2. Assuming that there is a straightlegged blackuniformed no rankbar dude in an Imperial tunic ...

And assuming that someone puts together a 451 style Warrant Officer ...

My current thought is:  For the 451 CRL, name it "ANH Black Uniform".  Have the ANH Staff as the featured costume, and picture ANH Warrant as an acceptable variant.

Then, current Warrant Officer CRL can be updated similarly to how Imperial Staff will be.

I have watched the scenes on and on again. The guy tunic opens up in the back. My guess is, the tunic's got a 451-pattern. Even though we can not see the end of the double breast due to darkness of the fabric, it appears to have the closure on the top shoulder seam. The layer of fabric definitley matches the thickness of the one on the left shoulder.

If that would be correct, the ANH-Staff-Officer wears a 451-uniform, straight pants, gauntlet-style-gloves, belt-boxes and jackboots

The reading I have done implies that black tunics were leased 451's across the board.  Most modified in collar and minor bits, some used in  background shots not modified.  Whether or not featured / named officers with rankbars had jodphurs and minor no-rank dudes had straight pants across the board in ANH, I do not know.

That discussion, the rankbar ANH dudes having straight or jodphur pants, likely needs to go to the 451 CRL discussion.  As it stands right now, the CRL you guys have agreed upon has ANH Staff with jodphurs.  So if you are second guessing, now is the time to hash that out on that thread.

Hrm.  He clearly does not have a rankbar, but it is not clear what kind of pants, boots, or tunic the guy is wearing.  It can be argued either way.  Not a reference we can use, I don't think.  Are there any other refs for rankbar-less dude in ANH?

And they have either two our four belt boxes.

This change would mean to rename the RotJ Officer with the black tunic to be a Warrant Officer, right?

Then the "original" Staff Officer (with a rank-bar) would only exist in ANH (with the 451-tunic) ans in Rogue One. Is that correct?

Not sure yet.  This is why I want all the references for "black uniformed officer without a rankbar".  Even the comics.  Once known, can then properly categorize.  We won't be renaming Warrant Officer CRL.

Black uniformed officers with a rankbar do exist outside of the movies and the Imperial Staff officer CRL should reflect that once updated.

  6. Hrrmm.  No change planned to General and Hux.  The General and Hux do match each other and your proposed text for boots, but do not match the as yet unpublished Lieutenant, which is what I have read most often and recently.  That is something I will correct and reconcile on my end.  I am personally not as fond of allowing equestrian for FO L1, but it is by no means something I am hung on that makes me lose sleep. ;)  I do prefer consistency.

Other notes we have from when another tailor and the LMO team spoke about this costume when the pics of Rose Tico in one came out are below.

    1. We are not likely to say "Gabardine is most accurate".  Instead, we'll simply say that the material is a medium to heavy weight suiting material.

    2. The color teal is believed to be Prussian Blue.  You do not want to get too green with this teal.

  7. I have ... A Lot ... of references for various costumes to review right now.  So am going to tap you guys in the Detachment for assistance.

    "Warrant Officer"

Basically, this costume is the black uniformed dudes without a rank.  What they are or aren't "in universe" I am not really worrying over right now.  As they wear black "officerly uniforms" and reference ANH in the CRL, I would like to get them squared away at the same time the Imperial Staff and ANH Staff get squared away.

What I need assistance with is:  I need to know where these dudes show up.  Which specific movies, which comics, etc.   Specifically "black uniform, no rank bar"  .... it will be useful to know which ref shows them with straight legs, and which ref shows them with jodphurs.

  8. That was Scanning Crew that got updated, not Bridge.

That being said, all other instances of beltboxes I can find are 3 1/2.  Warrant initially had 3 1/2, too, but got edited to reflect 4 1/2 in 2012 it appears.

I will do more digging to ensure it was a slip of the fingers as opposed to anything else.  If it was, I'll fix it.  Please hold.

A member of my garrison is on the home stretch to finish a major, so i raise this thread from the dead ^^

Since i haven´t found something i want to share the first draft of a possible CRL:

      Any comments about this?

Have your GML submit it to us in LMO Land via the normal channels.  @Paggeldiwwer knows what to do.  One comment I do have is that the boots text will likely be the same text used for Hux, FO General, and the soon to be published FO Lieutenant.  And it is unlikely that standard OT equestrian style boots will be allowed for L1.

  10. For what it is worth, what I need, before this even thinks of becoming a reality, is:

    1.  Pictures processed.  I have pictures, but they are raw and I have to get them processed.  I may or may not need different pics.  I can handle this bit.

    2.  Final version of what the Detachment wants on text.  There was some back and forth, and I am not going to interpret / assume your words.

    3.  Current Staff Officer CRL rewrite proposal / updated words given to account for the split.  AND an agreement from the Detachment on what it is / needs to be.  I had asked for that a bit ago, but haven't seen anything on it, yet.

The last one is pretty damn important.  I am not going to split out ANH until updated Imperial Staff is ready to publish at the same time.

  11. Eyeing references, Phil's suit, and the words donated by @Paggeldiwwer and @nocternus ... here is the first go I have of it.  I really want more eyes on the accessories bits, as I am not entirely sure I like the wording on them.  I have also asked Dawn Bright to examine the tunic wording.

I know at least two people who are building (and offering for sale) Rebels chest armour! I think Thrawn's specifically :)

Encourage them to document their work and take lots of pictures of the finished product so that we can make with the words and whatnot. :)

  13. We (LMO Team) will not be creating new CRL's of the same costumes for another Detachment just to account for battle armor.  If the LMO Team is different next year, of course that opinion may change, but as it stands now, battle armor on these characters will be optional accessories on their current CRL's.  And the CRL's are not moving to another detachment.

Assuming anyone actually makes said battle armor.

Glad to see the CRL is finished. A little bummed there wasent a credit for everyone that poured their blood sweat and tears into it as promised, but at least it’s done. Thanks to everyone that helped.

No need for that.  On the initial CRL published yesterday, both you and Vanya were credited in the CRL, as I promised.  When it was edited several hours later to reflect Vanyas brand new legion id, the template reverted, bugging out.  It will be addressed when I get home.  No intentional breaking of promises, just a simple IT issue.

  15. ACD got the General Veers costume (transformed into AT-AT Commander) because he commanded the AT-AT forces.  That was before my time, and I'll not comment on whether or not I agree with it.  Nor do I particularly wish to rehash that debate.

That does not mean that every single officer costume with battle armor necessarily goes to ACD.  Their mandate, specifically is " ... facilitates the Research, Archiving, Development & Creation for all Imperial Ground Assault Vehicle Operators/Commanders of the Star Wars saga."  Not "Anyone with officer uniform and chest armor"  :)

In the case of these officers such as Rebels Thrawn, Pryce, etc, that already have existing costumes represented, they are seen donning battle armor once or twice on screen, and not specifically and only to command ground assault vehicles.  It makes more sense to me, and the current LMO Team, to simply add in said Battle Armor as an optional accessory to their respective CRL.  Once someone actually make it to reference, that is.
