1.  I would use the more measurements the better approach but be sure to include that in your response along w/ what ever diagram you used.
2.  I trooped day in and out through celebration walking all over the place with no inserts and these boots ROCKED.  Anyone who saw me there those were the boots and they are outstanding.

Rubbing alcohol will take finish off.  Let me catch yall up!  U have done about 5 troops in the boots at this point!! Folks these boots are OUTSTANDING!
 
Things to know.
1.  Measurements:  Follow the guide, follow the guide, follow the guide.  Get you measurement in metric and your boots will be sized accurately.  Effectively they feel custom made folks and I could not be happier!
 
2.  If your going for the military parade style shine... you will need to strip these boots down first.  The wax coating or however they were finished will not allow you to get good absorption on the polish.  My first run at these had about 9 base coats with a day of drying in between.. the initial spit shine went on brilliantly but then ended up cracking and peeling... its the factory finish that did it to me.. so if your going to do do it right and strip it down first.

Guys I will take full pics today but I am here to tell you.. These will pass and they are quality.  I have never seen custom boots available at that cost that turned out so well.  The leather is good and not patterned and it is taking polish very well which is something lower quality leather does not do.  I am certain these will gloss out to a mirror shine when I am done.

There are typical measurement for boots that you can find through google.. however most of the time it several measurements that deal with
1. Length of foot (heel to toe at the longest part)
2. Width of foot (commonly called the ball)
3. Around the heal (from the base of the heel and around the front of the foot all the way around)
4. Angle Circumference (just above the ankle bone)
5. Calf Circumference (widest part)
6. Around the base of the knee
7. Around the knee
8. And how high you want them from bottom of foot to how ever high you want

Remember when you take measurements to wear your socks etc

I would look it at like this as being someone with a gut as well (well used to have a gut that is).. In order for the uniform to wear correctly the belt will need to be at or near you belly button which typically is higher then men with guts typically wear their pants. With that said its where pants (so I am told) should be worn to be proper anyway.
With that said I would recommend wearing your pant at the correct "waist" over the gut and measure accordingly. Suspenders are a glorious thing if needed. Just my opinion.

So glad to have found this grp!  Thanks to all of ya

So Cosplay Sky feedback (there are several threads on this elsewhere.. but food for thought on this one).
 
They mucked up my ISB uniform even after instructions were sent.. the good news.. they were willing to make it right.. 
For $20.00 they are shipping me a corrected uniform.  I also ordered a Line Officer uni.. I will post back once they are in. 

Other then the communication barrier I can say I am very pleased with their customer support and their willingness to get it right.
