Didnt get any feedback from the Detachment Staff...

There are a couple of threads dealing with restructuring the different costume sections, I also think it might be time to update the Forum a bit.

There have been reports of a large Rogue dressed in red and white flying in a pod-like vehicle powered by what appears to 8 Tauntaun-like creatures. Orders are to detain and hold for questioning as he may be a Rebel sympathizer trying to deliver secret messages of goodwill to those who would plot against us. Beware as he may have Force abilities that could convince you to release and send him on his merry way.

Well, technically, even Thrawn was a humanoid.

A non humanoid officer would be something like a hutt or other aliens who don't have two hands, one head, two legs, etc. But of course, I'm not sure that's what the OP refers to

I found an old thread (dated June 7, 2008) containing the proposed "Deck Crew" CRL. It looks like it eventually evolved into the specs for the Bridge Crewman. I guess that the 28 members were approved before the name change.

Whilst studying the uniforms I looked into this. From my research, specifically officers, I found ANH officers had belts with scuffed / undyed edges to their belts, no grooves. ESB officers had plain belts with black edges. It was only RotJ officers which had belts with grooves.

I've looked around but haven't been able to find a definitive answer regarding which costumes from which films wear a grooved belt versus a non grooved.
Have I just overlooked a thread?

These look cool--something to expand what we wear in Staff Officer mode when we're outdoors especially. Some sort of poncho-raincape, I guess. Once we see more details, someone do a run, please?

As I slowly work on my Staff Officer build (hampered by finances... sigh), I just thought I'd share two mistakes I've made, in the hopes that other rookies won't waste their time and money.
 
First and foremost, read through the forums.  Go back a long, long time through them.  There are answers hidden several pages back that might be what you're looking for.
 
Second, start a thread.  Ask questions (after you've looked a long, long time back through the forums).  The people here have been wonderfully helpful to me, and I trust they will be to you as well... we're all doing this for the same reason.
 
Third (and this is to save you going back too far for this information), don't get the hat and belt from cosplaysky.  I read the thread about the belt not being approvable (the buckle's corners are too rounded, and the belt itself is REALLY cheap material), about 10 days after I ordered it, and of course, it had already shipped. As for the hat, it only took a glimpse to realize that there's no way it will pass in the condition it arrived in... the brim's a couple cm (a little over an inch) too long, the side flaps are stitched on the wrong way, and not centred, and it just generally sits wrong.

I'll be doing another post soon, with information about the pieces that I've been accumulating for my build, and the things I've learned soon.  I just want to get a couple of pics first, and I'm notoriously bad for hiding behind the camera.
 
So.  New Builders.  Learn from our mistakes.  Then go out and make new and exciting mistakes of your own, and share them with us! 

Yeah, it's a bit heavier than Cosplaysky but as other said, I don't think it makes much of a difference on how hot it is. I have a weapawear and a few squadmate have the cosplaysky... I definitely prefer mine.
 

I'll check my jackets and reference this weekend. I can't remember if jacket has, my gut feel is they have and they will be acceptable as they will help pinch the jacket in around the waist, and without them you wouldn't get as good a fit.

The three online options I see recommended most often are Hessen Antiques and Todd's Costumes (the Solo Boots) for the most accurate boots with the flat tops, or Riders Mall for the (still) Level 3 approveable Spanish tops.
 
I'd definitely check local equestrians shop, and you can check Etsy and eBay to see if you get lucky with used boots, too.

I wear my moisture wicking, athletic IOC Pullover Jersey.

Anovos will not be shipping mis-matched fabrics.

I'm sorry to hear that, you have a great uniform. The only changes I was asking for at this level, were ones relating to the fitting of the costume.
 
 
With such a great uniform and the amount of effort you've clearly put, I see it as a shame not to do this, but that is ultimately your decision.

I have been talking with Wampawear's owner about this and he says they are indeed conical but it does not appear so on the picture because it did not stretch out side way. He is going to put it on a head and take a few more pictures.

Not from Melbourne (or Australia for that matter), but you can try to hit them up (if they don't answer here) on the Terror Australias Garrison website; http://501tag.com/. You may have to register before you can post, but go ahead and do so. Most Garrison websites have a welcome forum for potential recruits to introduce themselves and ask questions. You might even be able to meet up with them at a troop and see their costumes up close!
 
In the meantime, people here can help you with any questions as well, especially involving Imperial Officer costumes.
