I agree, can be a Problem since all Imperial Movie Characters are male ones. Didn't realize this as a Problem.

This topic first came up in the ladies of the legion-Facebook-group about two weeks ago and then was also addressed in the 501st Legion Headquarters forum. https://www.501st.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=95184

I hesitated to post this topic in the IOC-forum because I think it is a general issue that concerns all costumes and not just the officer tunics. Unfortunately, the topic did not get as much attention in HQ forum as it did in the Facebook-group and most people that participated in the discussion were IOC-members, so I might as well post the topic here.

First, I want to make clear that this topic is not necessary about changing the existing CRLs. It is more about how woman can adjust the officer tunics and flight suits in the frame of the existing CRLs to fit their body and look sharp and still be approved. I would like to have some expert opinions on what is permitted and what not for future reference. Are extra darts that are visible on the sides of the breast permitted? Are visible extra darts on the waist seam permitted? What about extra princess seams on the front of the tunic? I do not mean the straight looking ones that could be hidden by the yoke of the line or staff officer tunics. I mean the more rounded ones similar to the ones on the back of the tunics. What about an extra seam straight down the back?

'Star Wars Rebels' Fourth Season To Be The Last & New Trailer Released

Star Wars Rebels executive producer Dave Filoni announced that the fourth season of Star Wars Rebels will be the last of the series.
The news came earlier today during a special Star Wars Rebels panel at Star Wars Celebration Orlando.   The reaction was one of shock from the panelists' attendees, including David Collins (the host), Tiya Sirca, Freddie Prinze Jr. and Steve Blum.   Warwick Davis also starred as a special guest of the panel and will voice a new character in the series' fourth season.   As with the past two Celebrations in London (2016) and Anaheim (2015) the Rebels panel debuted the first trailer of the upcoming season and the Orlando panel was no different.   The fourth season of Star Wars Rebels has featured shots of Yavin IV, an older Saw Gerrera and more Thrawn.     The fourth season of Rebels is set to air on Disney XD in fall 2017.

So, I've made a little bit of progress on making the Science Officer uniform. Here are my Chelsea Boots (really love the look) and rank bar (courtesy of Chris, aka Thubin)

I've also ordered an olive green uniform from Cosplaysky, but the pants are jodhpurs. I'm going to see if CS can make normal straight legged trousers with no stirrups or buttons on the pants.

Not disagreeing with any of your points.

I note that the source for many of these "unseen" seams is various costume displays where screen-used costumes were on display (particularly with respect to various officer uniforms).  Whether or not we could see them on screen in the actual movie, due to the quality of the video, lighting, etc., they have been shown to be present in high quality photos taken of the various costumes while they were on display at various shows.

On page 127 Star Wars Rogue One The Ultimate Visual Guide, were the Eadu version is shown, it says that Galen Erso's current affiliation is the "Tarkin Initiative" so nocternus is right. Perhaps we could name this uniform „Galen Erso - Tarkin Initiative“ like nocternus suggested and the other one from the flashback scene „Galen Erso – Imperial development project” because that name is mentioned on page 126 of the book.

These are black Officer, aren't they  ? That looks great and would be useful for Missions outside the house when the weather is not so nice. I also hope this will be a accessory for the Officer costume.

The uniforms of star wars are based on original historical uniforms, mainly form the german military of 2nd world war.
The uniform where made by a company in england famous for its uniforms. Some of the uniforms where made new other where lend  from the stock and just adjusted to look alike or similar. So ther is a big difference in quality, look and fit at least for some uniforms in the film.

I'm a professional seamstress since 19 years and educated Patternmaker with my own studio since 10years. I'm Interested in costume history ever since. I have several books on this topic and made ton's of reasearch on historical uniforms even before I joined the 501st. I draw all patterns by myselfe based n the historical research and original pics.
Based on historical uniform pattern construction the waist line seam ist correct as well as several darts such as the one in center front at the collar and the other darts which are comming from the waist line. Also severeal seam lines like the 2nd short dividing seam at the back.
All these darts and seams are neccessary for a good pattern construction to ensure the perfect fit of the uniform. Since these uniforms have always a very thight fitting.
Also the requested lining is correct. Most uniforms where at least partly lined. Most of the higher standard uniforms where fully lined.

I will upload some drawings of historical uniforms and breeches tonight so you can see what I am talking about.

All the uniforms I made for my fellow 501st members I constructed due to my research. They look very very close to the original screen.
The attached pic shows my lates commission for an Admiral Daala uniform.

PArmstr reacted to gmrhodes13 in 'Star Wars Rebels' Renewed for a Fourth Season
The crew of the starship The Ghost will continue to battle the Empire next fall on Disney XD.  Lucasfilm announced that the hit animated series Star Wars Rebels has been renewed for a fourth season.  The announcement was made on the official Star Wars Facebook page.
Star Wars Rebels is currently nearing the end of it third season, which has seen some significant shake up to the series.  In addition to bringing in fan favourite villain Grand Admiral Thrawn to challenge our heroes, the show also recently featured the departure of the Mandalorian rebel Sabine Wren (though it seems she will still be a recurring character).   There had been some speculation that Rebels was perhaps winding down to conclude at the end of Season Three.  This partially due to the fact that this renewal came much later than previous seasons, and the reports that a new animated series in the works.  Fortunately, we now have at least one more season of adventure with Ezra, Kanan, Hera, Chopper, Zeb, and Sabine.   The next episode of Star Wars Rebels, titled "Secret Cargo" airs this Saturday, March 4th at 8:30pm on Disney XD.   Source: Star Wars (Facebook)

Many people try to use the McCall's M 4745 Civil War pattern for the tunic. I don't recommend it because the shoulders of the sleeve are weird. The instructions are also a little bit difficult to follow.
    https://mccallpattern.mccall.com/product-search?ref=M4745

Some people use the Butterick B6340 pattern for the jodhpurs trousers.
    https://butterick.mccall.com/b6340

I suggest using Hawk's pattern from the forum for the tunic.

If you want to use the McCall's M4745 pattern as a base I recommend following Char Tozard steps. He did a very good job with his uniform.

I was wondering if we could create a CRL for these guys. There are quite a few of them in the hallway and elevator scene in ANH. There are also two of them wearing IN helmets in scenes were Tarkin is standing in front of the death star viewing screen. Starwars.com uses a picture one of them in their death star trooper databank entry. I don’t think that is the best example of an IN but that is a different story. http://www.starwars.com/databank/death-star-troopers

I think this simple uniform could be a good alternative for people who want to have an IOC costume but have problems finding fitting officer boots or jackboots and think the ISB version with the regular trouser gets dirty to easily.

Yeah, they look like line officers with a black version of Krennic's raincoat.

My crystal ball says once the raincoat pattern is stabilized and someone makes a black version, it will just become an option for the line officer CRL.

It would be easier to go straight trousers and Chelsea type shoes, plus it's under-represented at events.

I don't have any update on this. I'm still looking for the real world uniforms that were used to make these. I found new information about the uniforms they used for the ISB (Imperial Russian Army Officer's summer tunics) and warrant officer (1950s NY Police uniforms) but nothing about the hall walkers. Due to that I haven't started with the mock-up yet.

Len is right when he says that the olive imperial development project uniform that Galen Erso wears might be an option for us. It seems to be a regular line officer tunic with olive trousers. He has one code cylinder in each code cylinder pocket and no belt boxes. His rank bar has four yellow or amber tiles and one red one.  He wears black leather shoes similar to what the hall walkers and ISBs wear. I really hope there will be generic imperial development project officer CRL and not just a Galen Erso CRL with this uniform.

Saw it 2 times now, 2D and 3D.

3D was disappointing and bad, too quiet sound, hearing everybody's eating of popcorn.

2D was great, in a big hall wich is normally used as lumber mill and for this time as Winter-Cinema.
They had a great soundsystem and it was really a blast. There were also 3 very nice gueststars incl. Arti Shah,
which were very well presented on the moviescreen before a live-talk.

The movie did fully satisfy me. Not like EP VII.

I just saw it this morning with my son, daughter, nephew and his girlfriend in Imax 3D. Movie was great that made me purchase more collectible action figures from the movie at Kmart and Target. I also decided to wear my Imperial Navy Officer Helmet to the movie and had several people recognize it from the movie and wondered how I got it.
