The Thrawn novel gets all sorts of rank wrong, both from a Star Wars perspective and a real life perspective. But that said, it hardly matters since even the Star Wars perspective is wild and crazy depending on which film you're watching. None of it makes any sense, and it's best if we just don't try. :p

I bet if you starched it so it wasn't sagging, it wouldn't need to be tightened. I'm not a GML though.

I think everything is a few tones deeper/more olive than CPS
But I'm pretty sure @DarthFunk83 used it and got approved.

Yes. I actually have two sets, since CosplaySky messed up the first one. They sent me a whole second uniform.
But also, I've ordered and started paying for a Clothears uniform, which will replace my CosplaySky one.

At least I could do something with my CosplaySky uniform this way. I can definitely take the flares completely out, way easier than trying to fix them.

The Praetorian Guard was the first to do it - http://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:TR_Praetorian_Guard#Version One
There's a lot of work being put into using the tabs to help out with tons of other costumes right now.
Ohhh I love this!

I'm about halfway through now myself. It's not as good as the first, but it's alright.
I do have to say this, though:

Yeah I use boot hooks on my Mux boots to get them on, and a boot jack to get them off. They're custom-made so they're the exact right size for me, though.

Being a Star Wars nerd and all, I'd heard of the 501st a long, long time ago (pun intended). I never knew anyone in the 501st or saw them anywhere, but I knew what they were, and it was cool. That said, it wasn't really for me: it seemed expensive and somewhat niche, even for me.
But as I got older, and dove deeper into historical reenacting, that got to be less and less true. And from that, I found out there was an entire subdivision dedicated to my favorite uniform from Star Wars: the line officer. I'd been playing Imperial officers in online Star Wars games for as long as I could remember, so it made sense to focus on that first (TIE pilot being my other love). I signed up for these forums, did some brief research, and then waited about 3 years because of a crappy job situation. Turns out waiting was a good idea, because when I did finally get to it, there were some pretty decent options available that weren't around before.

That's disappointing. I have the audiobook and my plan was to start listening this week (after I finish this history podcast).

In some ways I envy our friends in armor, though. It's really hard not smiling at kids doing cute things.

Yeah don't get me wrong. I'm not going to stop dressing up in Imperial uniforms. They look awesome. A good villain is better than a good hero in fiction (and Star Wars has both, fortunately). But I'm not under any illusions as to what they're meant to represent.

Sorry to double post, but it's right in the opening crawl, in fact:
QuoteIt is a period of civil war. Rebel spaceships, striking from a hidden base, have won their first victory against the evil Galactic Empire.
