  1. Hello fellow Officers,

at the moment we are disussion the CRL in our GML-Group during an approval-process. We are wondering that the Imperial Code Disc on the hat becomes a requiement from level 2 on. This is odd since that would be the only hat-wearing Officer-CRL not requiring the Code Disc on the hat for a basic-approval. Is there a reason for this?

Thank you very much in advance and best imperial regards! :salute:

Lego figures cannot be used as reference. I tried to make the same argument a year ago with another costume.

Is there a written rule in the Guidelines for character approval that clearly denies Lego-Figures? Ain't a Lego-Figure an Action-Figure? Isn't it licenced by LFL? Didn't they use official reference at Lego?

So i'm working on a staff officer and its going good. After I want to make a line officer. I noticed in the line officer CRL they used a black poncho as well, but I see poncho makers making olive green ponchos. So why is this? Do we see a line officer in R1 wearing a black poncho? Thanks!

According to Glyn Dillon, the costume designer of Rogue One, they only had black ponchos on set. And he referred that the officers-uniforms and the ponchos in the Eadu-scene were all black.

Yes, the CRL still allows a black poncho for a line officer. Before a change of the CRL, a black and a green poncho were both allowed for both uniforms, line- and staff-officer. The green poncho was taken out of the CRL again. This was the result of a poll here in the IOC concerning the question if the green poncho should be allowed in the CRL or not. Since that the black poncho remained in both CRL's - for the staff-officer and the line officer.

  4. Concerning the Staff Officer from Episode VI at http://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:ID_imperial_officer_black we still have the "Context" referring to Episode IV, which is wrong and leads for a lot of new Officers to irritations concerning rankbars, codecylinders and belt boxes.

Perhaps the LMO's/ @Hask have a look at it and set the context of the CRL from Episode IV to Episode VI since in Episode IV only the ANH-Staff-Officer (Fahrenheit 451-tunic) is seen, while the Officer in Episode VI, Rogue One, Solo and the EU/Legends wears the tunic with the classic "imperial" pattern.

    Thank you very much :)

And I think it could be nice to show our photos when we do smile in costume.

    This is mine:

We were visiting the "House of Astronomy" in Heidelberg (Germany) on that day. There was a baby child that could barley walk and was obviously wondering what kind of guys we were. That child looked so cute and sweet - I communicated with it. And how can you do that best: being nice and showing a smile (mostly to take away some possible fear from the children :) ). Luckily my dad took that shot and to save this moment.

  6. Additionally we could be posting pictures of troops where we are doing things seen in the movies. Or - in case of the Wookie-issue - remained unseen until now.

We can point out he differences between the two styles of the suits used in the movies and discuss that.

Do we know each and evry source for the costume-parts? Does one buildt the scaning-box and knows the measurements? If yes, we can reproduce rhis box to store some sweets which we can give to children during a parade.

I think we have some potential here and I am happy to see this idea growing :)

Yes this chart was also done with the official Rank description Glyn Dillon provided for R1 and SOLO.

I also found this one from Episode III, but I don't know which rank it is supposed to be:

Moff perhaps? Would probably fit into the timeline of Tarkins career.

Yes, it's Moff. You are correct about the timeline :)

  8. Since I am a Clone Wars Admiral I am wondering if we can find enough reference to add some of the ranks from that era too.

As far as I can see we have the same rankbadges there for both Captain and Admiral (e.g. Yularen and Tarkin) three red above two blue. But we have some other officers with different rankbars like those clones in the lightgrey uniform wearing two blue and one red in a line (if I rememeber that correctly).

I will look for some proper reference and present the results here. Perhaps somebody has them already collected and can share them here with the community?

  9. At the Noris Force Con they had the Cards for the Action Figures and the guy from the Death Star command-room was on one of those cards:

The called him "Todesstaffelkommandeur" which I would translate as "Death Squad Commader". But if I check the enormous numbers of These guys running around the Death Star, there would be too many "Commanders" and maybe to little staff. Or is only the one with the helmet a commander and the ones with the hats are the staff?
