This is the light channel after being unscrewed.

One screw through the card frees the LED's up

I push it out of the way into the cartridge space and tape it so it doesn't get paint on it

Besides the removable scope, the top rail fin, and the rear sight, the grips also come off the handle. Neat! I decide the grips and scope will be left in their initial gloss black plastic, the rest will get Flat Black Primer spray

    here it is back inside

Here are the parts i'm leaving alone to the side. The grips are screwed on through one side, i've seen this done on a real handgun.

I use testors silver on the ejector and dry brush on some wear, which as you know I always love to do.

Before installing the clear light channels and reassembling the blaster, I give the finished part 2 coats of flat clear lacquer:

    Reinstalling channels after it dried

Here are the LED's and trigger back in place, everything still works!

    REASSEMBLED!

REALLY happy how this came out, now it's ready for trooping! Ironically this morning, I saw the first ebay listing with a painted gun like this for $111! LOL, or do it yourself for 25! Hope you like it, have fun out there!

This is the new E-11 Blaster toy for Sale at Disney Parks. They are available at gift shops in the Parks themselves, the main one in Downtown Disney, and are now starting to pop up on Ebay. Overall, the dimensions are much better than the Hasbro one, and feature good LED's and sounds. Before I take it apart and start to paint, I use a jeweler's saw to cut off the barrel endcap, sand it down, and sand off any logos.

The blaster is surprisingly easy to disassemble. This is necessary for painting because of the clear plastic guards where the light shows through. The main body is held together by 8 screws. Unlike the temperamental Nerf DH-17, there is no glue to contend with. The rear tube speaker end cap, scope, top rail, and rear sight are all just held in place. Did Disney know I wanted to repaint this thing?

Simply set trigger, easy to remove, simple wiring set up for your modders out there!

Here is the removable top rail and clear plastic light channel guard. All the fins are separate parts, a nice detail, but only the center seam one comes out easily. The LED's are held in place in the channel by a single screw.

Here is the other side, even simpler.

Just another heads up then, there are no gray uniforms, they are olive drab.   The older film made the color look more gray.

I'm not a member of the IOC, rather, the DL for the Blizzard Force detachment, but a local friend and member needed to get an Agent Kallus up and running, but had little time when I started, as the goal was to be fhinished for Dragon Con this past weekend. I was sharing the progress elsewhere but had issues getting onto here

Anyways, I scratch built the torso armor 100% from Sintra, lots and lots of spot putty, hopes and dreams and then painted it up. The helmet and blaster were already produced however, but both required clean up and painting,

Glad it's over, at least the stress. I posted an interest thread to see if it will be worth trying to produce kits out of this as well. Already looking into getting a new helmet fabricated as well.

    Thanks for following

Here is my Deluxe Olive Line Officer from them. Order extra fabric and have someone else on here make your hat. Their pants always need tweaking in my opinion but when it's all said and done this is a tailored, matching uniform for less than $300. Here's mine:

It DOES look more green in sunlight and in person. It's not the best out there, but it is my best suit and i'm very pleased with how it turned out.

Hask reacted to Arch27 in What was your first 501st / IOC costume?
My first was a Scout. I bought it complete from someone on the Pathfinder forum. First thing I replaced was the flight suit. The one supplied was way too big/baggy. I wore it for a first appearance anywhere at my step-sister's laser tag birthday party, but my first 501st event was a local 'kids day' festival. The turnout for 501st people was really thin - there were only three of us, no handlers. I've upgraded the helmet to the MLC v3, and I need to replace my breastplate (I have the new one, just haven't swapped it out). I also need to put the 'new' greeblies on the detonator, then make the vest, mudflap and put on the riding patches. All that was beyond basic approval, but I feel it needs to be there. I also need to replace all the elastic since it's really worn out.

My second 501st costume is the ANH Male Tusken Raider, which I acquired from someone else 'complete' but I upgraded half of it with better gear and some serious dyeing. Completely gutted the inside of the helmet, putting in Skydex pads and a fan system, then added two new bandoliers, a custom-made ammo belt, completely new inner robe (scrapping the original one), completely new gaffi stick (which wasn't included originally). I'm really liking where this costume is these days, and it's a far cry from where it started. Amazing what some fabric dye can do...

My first IOC costume will be a Line Officer, and I'm just waiting for the uniform to be finished. I'm choosing Jerjerrod from ROTJ as my inspiration for rank/cylinder configuration, and whenever I get around to buying better boots, that's who I'll use to go for L3 approval.

That's the problem with comic art, each artist has a different interpretation. Baron Fel is mine a mine field, every artist has drawn him differently. That isn't to say you can't work towards creating a costume based on a cartoon character. It just takes a little more time. If you are serious about it, I would stick to one artist and make sure you have enough reference to show the character from all angles. You then have the fun of creating a costume which faithfully matches these references ... you can't pick and chose what you like.

I'm working towards replicating the John Nadeau version of Baron Fel, he was the original Baron Fel artist. There is enough reference to show the character from all angles, consistently ... though that project has been on the back burner for a while :/

I am now the proud owner of a Warrant Officer uniform!
    1st impressions:
Jacket fits good, neck hooks are awkward (but that's just my big meathooks)
Straight pants are a little snug at the waist (cardio?) Small pocket each side (does show below jacket, so just for photo ID or trading cards for kids)
Jodphur pants fit good, but the flares are as expected, wide'n'flappy, but that's an easy fix.
I'm going to frame the measurement sheet that came in the bag!
    Update:
Watch the jacket's snaps, having to get one sewn back on at the waist by the dry cleaner, while I'm getting it pressed for my approval photos

I assume this would be treated like a new CRL submission.

You would need clear reference pictures of the character from all angles, then construct a costume to match the reference.

    For example:
    3 code cylinders, without clips
    Belt free of markings
    Single plate rank bar
    Black gloves no markings

    Long black side burns
    Short black hair

    Hello everyone.
Now that I made it & approved into the 501st w/ the Imperial Warrant Officer.
I was wondering if there is any cool gear, shirts, coins or patches for this detachment.
    Thanx for any info.

The best way to help a CRL see completion is to complete the costume for it. I encourage anyone who wishes to do a new-to-the-legion costume to go for it. And yes, fangs would be cool

Whilst looking for an actors name for Hurst Romodi - bald officer with orange rank in the boardroom scene - I found a high resolution picture of Chief Bast - with another blue haze over his right pocket dosimeter. This has got to prove his second dosimeter is the standard officer blue tipped dosimeter and not alternative dosimeter.
I know I need to get a life I think it's Leslie Schofields impressive sideburns - I think he's a great officer - right up there with Julian 'General Veers' Glover.

I'm in the process of watching the original trilogy and noting the details for the officers (code cylinders, rank bars, etc).
Simple things I've noticed (others probably know this) are Line Officers have horizontal belt boxes and Staff Officers have vertical.
One thing I'd like confirmed is Chief Bast (played by Leslie Schofield). In the 501st CRL it says he has Type C Code Cylinders and not Type A - the more common of types.
I disagree with this. I believe Chief Bast has a Type A Code Cylinder in his right pocket, and a Type C in his left. I believe you can just see the blue of the Type A Code Cylinder if you look closely.

I ask this because I'm looking to produce a Chief Bast costume.
