I really wish this scene was kept in the movie. It would have made a bit more sense from the transition from Corellia to Mimban. Also, I do like the open face TIE helmet. Its like the TIEs in Star Wars Legacy

I do not like that open-face helmet. But otherwise, I kind of wish the scene had remained.

GMLs rarely are that strict with color. Some might be, but most aren't. I've also posted in the 181st section of the JRS telling people how to get the 181st dress uniform cleared with a CPS uniform, so they know.

bobafett4ever got a reaction from captsafe66 in Why did you come to the 501st?
That's a good question.  I knew about the 501st seeing them at Star Wars nights across many sports games in the RDU area here in NC, USA.  I didn't really have the time as my wife and I were our church's youth group leaders helping the youth group pastor (we ran about 150 kids a week at our service), for about 5 years.  In 2015-2016, he felt called to be a missionary on the Arabian peninsula, so my wife and I knew our time was coming to an end.  We loved working with and helping the kids, and wanted to continue in a similar fashion.

I've grown up with Star Wars (my grandma taking me to ANH when I was a month old, lol), and just happened to look into the 501st again in 2015.  I decided that combining my love of Star Wars, charity aspects, and still being able to put a smile on kids faces - that needed to be the next chapter in my life.  Although a hurricane (Matthew) set us back, by 2017 I got approved and haven't looked back since.

In the past 18 months, I've trooped over 30 events and my wife has been a handler at a few.  I started with a Staff Officer, but once I realized that ANH Staff Officer's didn't wear the CPS black tunic, I switched to ISB.  Then, I realized that the 'white' tunic CPS sells isn't really cream (ugh!), I went with the R1 ISB Agent (from CPS).   Now, I happily switch between my R1 ISB, ESB Navy Trooper, and sometimes I'll do the R1 Sheild Gate Officer or if it's the end of a long day, I'll do RotJ Warrant Officer.  I have a Line Officer that I'm just awaiting the hat... and then I'm going to get the armor for AT-AT Commander.  After running a table for about 8-10 hours at a Con, I can't wait to see some of the upcoming CRLs with Officer's with Chelsea boots!!!   But I digress...

It's funny because I was incredibly shy (and still am), but I've really opened up going to these events.  I LOVE running the tables at events, and helping out in the background with the POCs.  My wife has noticed I'm a lot less of an introvert as well.  I'm made some really great friends in the Carolina Garrison... and meet a few great folks too from VA and TN!  I really feel our area has connected and I see a real strong community through our 501st members... and enjoy seeing new ones joining the ranks too.

Last, I never thought I'd get multiple Star Wars Costumes (I swore I'd only get one when I joined), but I sure have veered from that!  I never really collected much before, but I'd say I'm a costume collector now and have my eyes on what might be my next 3 - 4 outfits

Well, that was my story.  I enjoyed reading those so far and look forward to those who will add to this thread.

    Greetings IOC,
I was going to post this in a prior thread but decided to start a new one instead of taking over someone's thread.

Something to keep in mind, we worked on almost all the CRL's last year and the LMO team is involved with a lot of cool upgrades for ALL the CRL's.  As much as we'd like to update every detail, we have to remember that the purpose of the CRL system is to provide a guideline for the members and GML's to use in the basic approval process.  The CRL's are meant to be a guide for approval details that are required for approval, not a build schematic for assembling a costume.  Some of the requested updates can be too detailed and not necessary for a CRL.

Build guides are supposed to be in the various build areas of the forum for each specific costume.

With this being said.  We are about to launch the CRL team program.  There will be 2, 3 members teams to work on the details of the CRL's.  One will concentrate on the Imperial era costumes and the other will be working on the First Order area.

We will still take suggestions for new CRL's and updates, but the brunt of the work will be done by the staff and the appropriate teams.  This has been requested by the LMO team, due to the time it has been taking to debate every minute detail in open forum.  Not long ago, we had no say in how a CRL was made, we want to keep in the loop, so to say.

The members that present an idea for a specific CRL will be kept in the process, provided a costume is in the process of being made for a CRL model.  We will not present a CRL to the LMO team without the proper, visual references to even make a CRL and a costume in process for a model.  The LMO team will no longer post an unfinished CRL.

While CRL maintenance is a big part of what we do, it isn't the most important part of the IOC.   The main goal is to provide a platform to assist and encourage new and present members to get and share information in the creation of Imperial and First Order uniforms  and assist them, as needed, in the approval  process.  As well as to have a fun time, helping children of all ages in our various charitable goals.

Sometime it will be posted on this link at times "New to the Legion Costumes In Progress"
    http://databank.501st.com/databank/New_to_the_Legion_Costumes_in_Progress

    ______________

Sometime it takes time, as everyone have a day job to do so the update on it can be slow. For new CRL, it is better at least the done outfit to post up on the new CRL post and PM the Detachment people that an outfit is ready.

So movie like SOLO, when the DVD is only out in later of the year, So most of the people who are doing the research  on the SOLO movie outfits have to wait for more picture from the DVD.

    _______________

We did somewhat have a update/need/upcoming CRL post which last year's LMO did. Which we can request for that kind of post again to be up?

    Hello.

I know about 8-12 of us have been bouncing back and forth, across multiple threads, with proposals, and CRL ideas for update and fixes, and sometimes we're being told it's being worked on, and sometimes we're told it won't fly, and sometimes we're told nothing.

I'm not one to dig too far into all the who does what, but would it be possible to confirm some information?

IIRC, the LMOs (and sorry, I'm not even sure what that stands for nor what they do) are the ones who update and create CRLs.

For the sake of my ignorance, and others who may be in the same boat, could someone explain, or point me to where if this already exists, the process of seeing movement on either an existing CRL, or creation of a new one?

If possible, could we be provided a map of what CRLs are known to have errors or need updates, and which are in the works for creation?

I just feel like if we had a road map of sorts, that would help a lot.  Thinking back to the beginning of 2018, I believe we've seen the introduction of the 451s and an update to the ISB Agent.

Seems like there are just a ton more to do and work on, and I'm curious how it's going or if folks are just too burned out or over loaded or maybe a ton is being worked on behind the scenes and we just don't know or see it.

Please do not read into this.  I'm not bashing anyone or saying anything negative.  I'm truly not sure of the process and just trying to understand it, as well as wondering if a few of us that are vocal can help in any way?

In the least, a road map or chart would be excellent!  If one doesn't exist, maybe someone with authority can give the green light for a few of us to help create one, or something?

    Thoughts?

Well the navy trooper dress uniform ANH and the warrant officer ANH need to be a separate CRL due to the fact that their tunic is unique. I think we could put the Rogue One navy trooper in the same CRL because its tunic is similar enough.

There is no reason to change the CRL of flight suit variant of the navy trooper. The currant CRL covers ANH,E SB and ROTJ.

The navy trooper dress uniform ESB could be in the same CRL as the ROTJ version. Perhaps we could put those and the warrant officer ROTJ in the same CRL similar how I have done with this CRL proposal.

The old staff officer CRL could be changed into the Rogue One staff officer CRL.

The Rogue One ISB and the ANH ISB need two separate CRLs do to major differences in the tunic.

I think having many different CRLs is less confusing than having only a few CRLs with many different options in them.

Hi everyone, in order to help me understand the numerous variants of the black uniforms & what costume components could be used in other configurations, I created the Shared Components Matrix.  That black flight suit is quite ubiquitous!  I hope you find this useful.

It's not an official 501st document, just something I put together to help current & aspiring members.  The CRL is always the official reference which goes into more detail than I could include here.

(It has been pointed out that "Navy Trooper - Dress Uniform" isn't included; it would have made the matrix 3 columns wider due to all its own variations, and I had to stop somewhere...!)  So it's not

Thanks to @tristanuk and my garrison GML for providing feedback before being finalized, much appreciated.

I think Beckett's team, although Undercover, will be in Underworld; Beckett, Han, Korso, etc.  And I'm OK with that as they just killed random Imps and put on whatever they had available.

But we will have an actual mudtrooper officer based on Lt. Bolandin, and possibly any other officers we can screen capture, so it's all good.
