Hello there. I know this subject has been beat to death but I have been on this forum for the last 2 hours and I am having a hard time finding where the best place to buy some jack boots for my wifes imperial scanning crew costume. The main problem is she has big calves. Any help would be much appreciated. First time posting so I hope I am in the right place.

We had to buy my wife a pair of motorcycle boots and cut the straps off of them - and still had to have them stretched in the calves.

Only other option we had was to go full custom.

To me (on my monitor), the shirt looks white or cream colored to me. But without a better picture, its really hard to say. Its possible its a light grey.

That's what I'm thinking - dunno how to word that, "light colored shirt" could lead to people trying to wear that light blue one in their closet.

  3. Look good - one question, are we sure the shirt is white?  Looks less than white in those photos - would like to see a comparison of a white shirt sleef just barely sticking out of an olive jacket sleeve if one of our officers could provide that?

I'm thinking the shirt may actually be grey is why i'm asking.

Optional is totally fine. :)  I just didn't think it should be required (at any level), and that wasn't clear from the formatting of the posts above.  All good, then!

Yeah, we put optional on Krennic too for Blue eyes.

Like James said , sounds to me like one of those costumes who's likely to end up in both 501st and RL , just like the Clones and a few others .

He was technically an Imperial researcher even though he worked against the Empire after Lah'mu , nobody knew .

I hope to see more people have a go at Galen's uniform soon :)

That said, can you help hash out the tunic?  I know it's missing detail that would be helpful in explaining it, but as you saw with Krennic, the correct wording is escaping me.

Can we do a generic "Science/Engineering Officer" as well, or because we don't see anyone else with this particular uni (IIRC), we have to do Galen?

I would say this is Galen, because you don't see anyone else in it.  Just like you don't have a generic "director".

The normal Death Star guys were in different outfits.

  7. Ok, taking what you put I have plugged it into a CRL form - lets work on the wording of the Tunic, other than that it looks good. :)

People move.  A lot.  Belts move, unless they're sewn (or velcro'd firmly in place).

For the same reason we specify what sort of shoulder strap should be use by TK's (at higher levels, at least), and the same reason we specify the button attachments under the Tunic flap, the waist seam should be maintained in the CRL.  (IMO, at least)  That's not a "wardrobe malfunction" that's just what happens when clothes are worn.

Yeah, but I disagree - as long as it's closed, I don't care what kind of hidden attachments you use.  I'm one of the guys who thinks the belt hooks are a great idea but ought NOT be in the Krennic CRL when we were told by Pablo they were ONLY there because Ben wouldn't keep his thumbs out of his dang belt and kept pulling it down.  There's a line between accurate film recreation and obsessive-compulsive disorder over looking like you were on set with them.  If you want to make it mandatory for Level 3 OT and not for Animated, cool, I have no issues with that.  But to leave it as is we lock out anyone making an Animated for going higher than Level 1.

Earlier you were concerned that if we were not specific then GMLs may not clear anyone, if vendors make tunics with the seams and it's not in the CRL people could be rejected, the Animated CRLs wont I think have the seams mentioned

Well that's simple then.  You note that the seam is optional.  Covers both without having to make a separate CRL for Animated.

And the seam is there usually because of fabric, not to make it tailored.  The princess seams pull the sides in, the midline seam is there so they don't have to purchase wider fabric.

I don't see a CRL for a Rogue One ISB Officer, only Krennic. It's still not a match. Krennic may have code cylinder pockets, but his tunic is white, not cream like the traditional ISB officer. Do you have a link for Rogue One ISB Officer CRL?

Like Kris said, it's not official yet, but don't go cutting that tunic just yet.

  11. Hopefully my experience will help you, Matthew.  I didn't mean to hijack your thread.

Unfortunately Cosplay Sky got back to me to say they are already finished with my order and suggested a local tailor alter the yoke, so I am assuming that can be done (a seamstress friend looked at the pictures and said it should be easy to do).  However, I realized that in addition to the yoke, there's another difference between the Deluxe Officer as offered by Cosplay Sky and the ISB Officer - the code cylinder pocket.  The Officer has them, but an ISB Officer doesn't.  The CRL says so specifically.  My husband thinks that can be fixed, but I don't know.  I'm on the verge of emailing Cosplay Sky again and asking to just order another ISB tunic.

On the other hand, the Cosplay Sky Deluxe Officer does have the dart at the front neck and the princess seams in the back, so if you order the Deluxe Officer with a color change (and NO code cylinder pocket!) it might help the ISB Officer qualify for level two certification.  The princess seams are optional for standard approval, and the dart at the front neck isn't mentioned.

That tunic is correct for Rogue One ISB, FYI.

So if you lay them out, one does not match the other anymore. However, now when you look at them on me, they look the same. The physics of 3D bodies, go figure.

Yeah.  Actually a lot of people are lopsided.  One side is bigger than the other - feet, hands, legs, arms, chest, etc.  Not everyone, but that's why CGI still looks CGI to a lot of people - our minds can tell there's something wrong when someone is perfectly symmetrical.
