The left side bit looks an awful lot like a stormtrooper helmet's mic tips (Hovi tips). Yet slightly different, of course. *sigh* Agreed that the black section is too generic to really call out a source, although I sorta think that looks too smooth to be 3D printed unless they used SLA (entirely possible) or positively drenched it in XTC-3D or somesuch. Obvious callback to the Tomtit model parts used in the ANH version, but... not. The white area to the right, again, way too generic. Entirely possible it's all 3D printed. Clearly heavily inspired by the ANH comm that Luke and C3-PO used, but annoyingly just a bit different in each part. (WHY do they always feel the need to recreate the wheel?)

I can pull for more screenshots, but the way the wind is blowing, we allow both OT and non saga gauntlets for basic approval, and the split version for L3 (like we have for the non saga grew and INTs).
The ANH Staff Officer allows gauntlets so, they are already floating around out there anyways.
The gauntlets used by ANH Staff (among other OT costumes) are very different from the ones I see that pic, so we'll have to look into what our options are. It would be especially good if we can actually find a vendor who carries this style.
-
Do we have any better shots of this? I'd like to see something that shows the gloves more clearly (especially that split you mention), if possible, and have it here as a long term reference, if we're going to add it to the CRL.
-
Painful to see that done to an officer costume, not to mention ruining good boots, LOL
But very cool!

Do you know if ‘they put it out there’ before they buy or do they just buy it and see what the uptake is?
We don't know the specifics of their plans, sorry

Thanks for the reply, do you know what colour fabric they are buying in??If it's like last time, black, olive, and white, at a minimum, and I believe I heard they were considering adding red and possibly a gray, but that remains to be seen if that works out. It's not an IOC-managed run: It's their deal, so we'll have to wait and see what they come up with.

Hmm. I show your two examples as being about 4", using the known size of their rank bars.
Further, code cylinder pocket placement can vary a fair amount.
I'm still having trouble picturing a 6" dart making sense on anything this side of maybe Andre the Giant.
Thoughts?

Bringing closure to this:
We made the change to ISB Supervisors and Dedra:
OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable):
-
There is a dart present on the top center of the yoke.
- The dart may vary in size due to the size of the wearer's individual tunic and how it fits, but should be between 2 to 6 inches (50.5mm to 152.4mm) in length. Typically, but not always, the dart ends at or below the top of the code cylinder pocket.
We will update the black and olives shortly once they are unlocked.
What... giant... would proportionately fit a SIX inch dart in their tunic? I can't imagine needing more than 4", even on a pro basketball player. And that's not remotely "typical". All the discussion above has said 2-3". Typo?

G'day folks!
I'm not really sure how this flew under the radar, but the Enlisted did in fact make a comeback on Andor! A few of them are present on Aldhani.
I took the liberty to create an imgur album to back up the things I say here with reference: https://imgur.com/a/meq9guX
- The Enlisted crew carry the same headset as Kimzi/Aldhani troopers in uniform. This appears to be a Racal Aviation headset with some additional greeblies on. I've ordered one for myself to check out if this can be achieved accurately.
- Wrist Length black leather gloves are seen on some Enlisted Crew. These seem to be the same Dent gloves seen throughout the Andor Series.
- Not all Enlisted on the show carry a compad. This may mean that the compad could be moved to the optional section? Interestingly, the Compad is optional on the Non-Saga Crewman, but not the current draft for the enlisted.
- The Rogue One Version has Chevron shaped mandarin closures on wrist and on the neck. The Andor version has squared off closures.
- The Compad on both R1 and Andor matches the Imperial Ground Crew in shape, rather than the TIE Compad. You can see this in the R1 visual guide image posted on the first page as well.
- The Andor Compad has a different color configuration than the Compads seen in Rogue One
- Andor Belt boxes are slightly smaller. According to @fb501 on the Spec Ops forums, the Belt Boxes measure 67mm tall, 45mm wide and 25mm deep for Andor. This has also been raised on this thread:
The Andor belt boxes are not silver, but rather a dark gunmetal color and feature a pill shaped notch in the top:
One minor point: The belt box pictured was a screen used Army Trooper's belt box, from the Aldhani episodes on Andor. Definitely correct for that uniform, but not exactly for ALL belt boxes in the entire Andor series.
In particular, ISB officers on Coruscant have obviously lighter boxes (we have seen some scenes where some background characters have darker boxes, but it's not clear if that's due to lighting or if they're just doing the thing where they grab stuff out of the boxes from other costumes, when they run short and need a lot for a specific scene). So while the sculpt is likely pretty universal (although we still have some suspicion that some key stars got real metal ones), I believe the intention was for the ISB officers (at a minimum) to have lighter silver boxes, not the darker ones. We need to see more references, to say how this applies to the enlisted / flightsuit costumes, which are neither ISB nor Army Troopers.

IOC Staff just had a discussion about the name, since this one seems to be gaining some interest.
We checked the credits and subtitles, and there are references to both Guards (of various types... Box Guard, Console Guard, Delivery Guard, etc) and an "Intake Warden", but the uniforms don't seem to be any different. So these are all Prison Guards, of various types.
Thing is, we have seen other prisons and detention centers before (Wobani, the plant prison they broke Jyn Erso out of, for instance), and they did not have these specialized uniforms, just standard uniforms we already have (navy troopers, security officers, etc.) So these are somewhat unique.
Wookieepedia is definitely not authoritative or official, but they refer to this costume as a "Narkina 5 Prison Guard". https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Narkina_5_prison_guard
There are also the Prison Technicians and the Prison Commander (although they both wear the same costume, just no hat on the commander) in the sort of slate blue jumpsuits, otherwise pretty much the same as the Guards and Wardens: https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Unidentified_Narkina_5_prison_commander
Under the circumstances, we are leaning towards naming this costume "Narkina 5 Prison Guard" because it is, so far, unique to this particular factory prison. Should we see other similar (but different?) Prison Guards in the future, we can rename the costume to just "Imperial Prison Guard" and add tabs for the CRL variations, if needed.
I'm going to rename this thread to reflect the updated costume name.

It's in the IOC Members-Only area, but once you're approved (I'm sure you have enough knowledge by how to take the basic approval photos, at least!), I recommend checking out the Firebirds subforum. That's a group for the ladies of the IOC, available for members to join. There's a thread with tons of photos that should give you LOTS of examples of what others have done.
Outside of pure approval, however, you'll want to talk to your local GML, once approved, and see what they're ok with locally. Some follow strict standards, and others are a bit looser with what they permit, on actual local troops.

Something that says Narkina 5 would be helpful. I know that Andor and Kino called them guards during the escape scene.
The jumpsuit seems doable. Time to test out that new heat press!
However, I clicked on the link for the boots and Burton is out of stock. Quick google search did not show this coloring. I have emailed Burton to see if they will have stock available at some point. I will continue my search though.
My understanding is that specific model boot is discontinued and no longer made. I believe Crow Props is working on making a copy.

Naming question: Would these be considered Wardens or Prison Guards? I thought the warden was the one leader at the top, in charge of the whole prison. The rest of them would be guards and various other underling functions. But my understanding is there is only one Warden. So perhaps these should be "Imperial Prison Guards" instead? We could get specific with "Narkina 5" as well, if we wanted, but there could be Imperial Prison Guards in the same uniform in other prisons, too, it stands to reason. (Of course, they could also have different patterns on their coveralls, or some other indication that they're from a different prison, or even entirely different uniforms... no way to know until they show us another prison)
@buckrogersbarker Thoughts on the name?

Not familiar with that vendor. I look forward to seeing how that turns out!

Oh hey, I was going through some references photos I've collected over the years, and stumbled across this photo of Peter Cushing's actual screen-used trousers from ANH. You can see how his pockets were done:
-
The fabric run that the Germans run periodically (as in 2016, 2017 and 2018, but coming again soon) is from the same supplier that supplied the uniforms for the OT, I believe. I think these large mills only deal with large orders, so I don't think you can just place an individual order for a few yards. I believe they're doing another group order in the next few months, however, if you want to wait for that.
All that said, I'm not sure we have the names of the actual mills that are supplying fabric to the current productions. Do you know the company names? They're likely under an NDA.

My wife usually does fairly minimal makeup and a low ponytail.
She also tries to not have crazy nails when she's trooping, and if she happens to have something especially not right for an officer, she keeps her gloves on.

Oh hey, I happened be checking something in my eBay account and stumbled across the gloves I used for my Krennic:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/121718091583?var=420718711427
We got side-tracked with boot talk, but I still had in the back of my mind that someone had been looking for Krennic gloves.
These have the perfect wrist snap that leaves a little circle of exposed skin just above it, and are lovely quality. Order them soon, because shipping from the UK takes a fair amount of time. You'll pay more for shipping than the gloves, unfortunately, but the overall cost is still totally reasonable compared to the truly pricey gloves.
Here is what I got:
-
For the pants:
"There is a upside down, asymmetrical Y shaped tuck on the front of the trousers."
That's not a "tuck", I think it's piping. (and the Y is upside down)
Perhaps "There is small piping down the front center of the trousers at the natural fold, terminating into an upside-down Y shape at the knees. The piping is the same material as the main fabric."

Yup, that's definitely the right stuff.
Here's a shot of WampaWear's Cavalry Twill (a poly blend instead of wool, but still good stuff):

I'd agree it looks like a similar straight cotton twill along the same lines as the OT jumpsuits. Thank goodness it's not that nylon crap they used in the R1 jumpsuits. Definitely has a some weight and structure to it, and the same basic pattern as those OT jumpsuits, with the obvious addition of the action back (aka shoulder gusset? need to find the exact terminology for that).
