The Sybil boots will not work, unfortunately, due to the seam down the center of the front of the boot shaft.  Also, removing those pull tabs without leaving visibly damaged leather behind is rarely possible, so I'm not sure that would have worked, either.
 
It's really tricky to see, but I think the Amazon boots have that same center seam.
 
You might check with Noirtide, since their boots are full custom sized, and CrowProps (although CrowProps has has a hard time delivering products that match the specs ordered lately, and their customer service is terrible, so it's chancey with them)
 
Juno wears pretty standard OT-style Officer boots, if that helps any.  But yes, with very small feet and very large calves, boots of this style will likely need to be custom.  The two places I mentioned will have the most reasonable prices for that, otherwise there are numerous high end boot makers who do full custom, but the cost can be pretty eye-watering.

I’ve been working with Bowrider to improve the accuracy of his patterns. International iteration is slow, but I expect to have news in the next month or so.

Theres a lot of screen-seen photo evidence to support multiple holes, at least on officers.  Less so on crewmen, but certainly on officers. I have a few belts from different makers, and the leather/ quality varies. I used to make my own with a slab of leather I dyed myself. 

MazCave is definitely legit.  And they're based in Italy so the email address makes sense.

Wow, yeah, those new code cylinder pockets are WAY too small.  Definitely not right.
 
TBH had you asked in advance, I would have attempted to warn you off Magnoli.  Once upon a time they were quite good, but things have really been bad out of that shop lately.  There have been some real horror stories posted here.

Yes, Jim offers pretty much every color under the rainbow.  They're not the greatest versions, but you do get a lot for the low price you pay.
 
Last time I spoke to Azman he was guessing sometime this fall would be when he would order more of the green officer uniforms, but it's hard to say for sure.  He orders in MASSIVE quantities and pretty much doesn't reorder until he's entirely out, or within just a few of being sold out.  Custom color dye lots are expensive so he only works in large quantities.  He recently restocked the blacks, after being out for a long time, I know, but that doesn't help you if your heart is set on the green.
 
I'll admit I don't love MazCave's green offering.  Too much brown, IMO.  It passes, but you won't match others.  Fantastic quality, otherwise, however.
 
KT is fine quality, just not quite as good as Wampa, and a LOT more money than Wampa (so no excuse for that, IMO, thus I'm not a big fan).  Given what they charge, I'd rather spend a little more and go with MazCave.

Any satin is going to be significantly more lustrous than the twill Krennic’s usual cape is made of, simply because of the way it’s woven: more flat threads lying across the top of the weave means more smoothness, more reflected light. I expect that’s the difference that’s especially relevant to Wilkinson when he’s saying that. Looking at Krennic’s cape under the gallery lights, you can see a gorgeous subtly reflective depth that you don’t get from his normal cape, and also a much more fluid way of hanging and moving. 
 
The choice of satin is going to be very important here. It’s imperative to choose something that’s not stiff and has real weight -- I’d say 250gsm at the minimum -- otherwise the drape will never look right. We’d probably have the easiest time looking among bridal fabrics for this.
 
A “matte” satin is woven like a regular satin, but made of a less-shiny fiber so its lustre is more subtle. Here, polyester is actually going to be better than silk, wallets rejoice! 
 
Krennic’s cape appears to be double-faced: you can’t see the dull side of the satin anywhere. It is lined with the same fabric as the outside at least from the front through the shoulders, I’m not yet sure whether it’s been faced all the way back or whether the fabric is itself a very heavy double-faced satin. 

Here’s a useful update. Today, Michael Wilkinson published some high-quality costume photos that we hadn’t yet seen.
 
We have noticed before that some of Mon Mothma’s chains are the same as the ISB silver ones, only in gold, and these images show them very clearly. 
 
@kalani15371, you’ve got the overall “wiggle” shape of the chain links, but your model hasn’t yet taken into account the fact that the shape isn’t made of a single complicated face, but actually 3 parallelogram-shaped faces. We can see them clearly in the way the light hits them differently. We can also see that each link is made of two pieces, though I imagine the dividing line between them can just be decorative when they’re made as beads.

And here it is, vinyl wrapped. I then did a little more cleanup of the vinyl edges, added the strips of trim back on with mounting tape, and filled and painted the handle grip. 

As a reminder, DN is NOT Anovos.  They're different companies.  DN bought all of Anovos' contracts, licenses, suppliers, etc., and has been VERY good about keeping up with orders and shipping.  If they don't have it in stock, or won't have in very soon, they don't sell, it's simply listed as out of Stock.  Anovos had a very different business model than Denuo Novo, which is owned by Rubies / NECO.
 
All that said, yes, I fear tariffs are going to bring some hard times for the costuming community.  I'm pretty sure DN's costumes are manufactured in China, too, so they will not be immune from the current struggles.

Long overdue update: Here is a very, VERY preliminary first attempt, basically finding out whether “links” this thin (just a couple mm) can reasonably be drilled and strung. They can, and hang nicely from an epaulette. 
 

 
Since the resin is translucent, it looks flat and one can’t properly see the 3D facets, but they came out quite cleanly.
 
I think they’ll paint up pretty well, though whether that will be enough to mimic the original metal remains to be seen. 
 

 
I’ve got a lot more work to do with the model ( the angle between links, the way links fit into one another to get a more accurate tightness around corners, the subtle seam visible in the center of each face in the real chain, etc.), and have… some cautious hope here! The only way to find out is to try.

I've arranged a meeting with another tailor to get the neck fixed with a panel(not sure if that is what she meant, but she said she can do it, although it would be a tough job for her since the collar is sewn not by her), and the job can begin in June this year. Hope to get it right with other small improvements I've planned to get for this uniform. Now I just have to get the ISB officer with my Mazcave uniform with the pants and the hat, which is okay. I've also got ISB Attendant Tunic from Jim so that is another officer to be approved

This is really helpful! I knew I saw it in the CRL.  Luckily we still have it in the forum.

I just edited the photo URLs here to use ImgBB instead of Imgur.  Seems to work quite well.  It remains to be seen if there are downsides longer term, but in the short term, I'll start using it instead.  The interface is actually simpler and easier to get direct image links, which I like.
 
Once I'm more comfortable with it (assuming), I'll write up a new recommendation post and promote that over Imgur.  (and point to the new option from the old recommendation thread as well)

Leaving aside the visible shape of the pants themselves, and the situation in which they're being worn, we can look at footwear for clarity: 
 
In Imperial officer costumes, jodhpurs are worn with tall riding boots, and straight trousers are worn with Chelsea boots. We can see that every Senate Officer onscreen is wearing tall boots. There isn't any ambiguity there.
 
While the Senate Officer tunic may someday appear onscreen with straight trousers and Chelsea boots, it hasn't so far, and there can't be a CRL version until there's a canonical visual reference. 

We are trying to get caught up. @buckrogersbarker can add this to his list.
 
One thing bugs me about the belt boxes...
My logic brain wants to just say "hey- just use Rogue One or Andor style boxes because why would this guy have different style box?
This is obviously a computer model.  And they make said computer model try to look like a real life thing. If it doesn't match 1:1, there's usually a technical reason, but I still think the intent is to make the computer graphics resemble the real world as close as possible.
And now here we are...trying to make a real world interpretation of THAT.
It is like typing English into google translate into German, and back into English when you could just use English in the first place. 
I applaud the efforts, though! 
I just don't know why we try to reinvent the wheel to make a real world prop mimic a computer graphic that is trying its best with limited technology that is trying to mimic a real world prop. 
I think it is silly little things like this (and the boots) that keep these costumes from getting more popular. It goes from "I already have most of this stuff already!" to "oh now I have to make, or commission these belt boxes AND pay hundreds of dollars for new boots just for this one costume." 

Based on Jim's sample palette the color available looks ok but not great.  Seeing the three different tunics side by side in that photo from DragonCon (I think it was?), I'd say WampaWear's color is the closest to accurate that I've seen, followed by the two custom jobs that the CRL models used (XiangXiang's thread linked earlier in this thread), and KeepTrooping's is a noticeably farther back third place.  I think Jim's would be 4th.

Thank you for your feedback. It really helps me find the fault and get it fixed to be as authentic as possible. 
I've requested the hat to be changed... Hopefully, it can be done. 
 
For the bubble look on the fabric, I think it is because it wasn't ironed and was folded in the box for too long. (I just took them out and wore them to see the fit so after the modification is done, I will get them drycleaned and iron them to get them to look straight. 

Looks good overall!  My one main critique would be the hats.  The bills on those seem very long, like baseball hats.  These are not baseball hats.
 
Minor stuff, I think your rank badge should go a little lower, as it looks a bit high.  And there's an odd almost bubbled look on the fabric right dead center in the front of your tunic, does that just need some ironing, perhaps?
 
The sleeves are a little short, yes, although you could probably cheap that some with gloves.  Better if they can be lengthened.

Yeah, I don't think I'd approve that for Level 2.  There are a number of issues with it, some easy to correct with a repaint, some less so.  Biggest issues are the muzzle color (should be all black), that odd heat sink mounted on top under the "scope" greeblie, and the silver side greeblie with the red "power levels" (I assume) indicated, which also should simply be black.

My inquiries to the CRL models have not been returned, so I'll proceed as I had planned.  I hope to get this formally submitted to the LMOs tomorrow.  The text is locked and the CRL photos have all been prepped.
 
 

 

 


 
Existing template photos on file will be used for the remainder of the parts, to make things as easy (and fast) as possible for the LMO team, and since they are not unique to this costume.
