kman got a reaction from ImperialStarpathUnit in Looking to build an ISB officer uniform
I've heard of OSOP, but I don't know if they're still around or not. Oz is sort of a special case, geographically speaking. It might not be a bad idea to reach out to others in your garrison (have you signed up with your local garrison?) to see what resources they recommend the most, given the high shipping costs for importing from the US or Europe.
For US-based sources, I generally recommend DarmansProps and BarkersTrains for the belt. (be sure to get the one with the edge grooves for this costume) I'm not sure what the best source is in Europe. (Let alone Australia)
For the code cylinders, in Europe I usually recommend PhiloProps and in the US Bailey Builds is usually the go-to recommendation. (full disclosure I'm running BB now but that's not a reason to choose it, I readily recommend other sources when they make more sense). Be sure to get the silver clips for this costume.
There are a few sources based in Asia that might be popular for some accessories, like KeepTrooping. But not everything they carry has the highest recommendations (or the best price). I don't think much they sell would not be approvable, however.

The IOC forums is the BEST resource when it comes to information about Officer uniforms. But sometimes local groups have a better handle on specific vendors that are most suitable (or popular) locally, which the more Euro- and US-centric people here may not be aware of.
That said, we have someone on staff who is in the Australian garrison, so I can ask for his input, too.
Yo, @Sharpshooter got any vendor advice for your fellow Aussie?

I got my military officer commissioned from GoodHunter, not sure if Sam has the fabric for ISB. I am looking into another ISB set for myself since my WampaWear is a VERY tight fit, and leaning towards a Jim Trippon kit. My belt I got off a local Redback member, muppet on our forums, not sure if he is still selling but always worth messaging him. Code cylinders I got off PhiloProps on Etsy, not many Aussie makers but I think one of the Sydney troopers is starting to make them from memory, Paola her name is (forgot call sign). Rank insignia I got off BaileyBuilds but RankBadger is who I got my original ones from and he’s back in the game, he’s based up in Cairns so a local maker and good quality too.

kman got a reaction from Iro in Andor ISB Briefcase Build
Funny you bring this up. It's on my active project list, too, I just haven't had time to sit down with a heat gun and start vinyl wrapping. I had been on the fence about trying to paint it for a long time, but wrapping seems like the way to go to me, too.
And yes, I also believe Parts of SW was wrong about the Limbo. It's a Topas case. Once we can get into the CRLs again, that's on the list to update.
I have two Rimowas between late night drunk eBaying and bad life choices. The larger Limbo, which actually does work quite nicely, athough I need to make some accuracy modifications if I'm going to try to make it more like Dedras (on the fence, tbh). And a Topas, like yours, although mine's in nice shape.
Here's a shot of the Topas (obviously not yet wrapped) with an early draft of the case greeblie model. That's not final, it needs some scaling still. Jeannette's needs some tweaks to be accurate, too, honestly. (This is just a raw low res print with zero sanding and a quick spritz of Rustoleum aluminum, not intended to be final so don't judge.). I wasn't ready to share this year, but since you started it... LOL
Note we have some screenshots in the Gallery here, too, although I have not uploaded my full collection. Your Imgur album has most of the important stuff, regardless.

kman reacted to Iro in Imperial Code Disk - non-saga (STL)
Hi @Aesmodan and @ChrisDp, just jumping in because I might be able to take something off the good doctor’s plate. I’m a very rusty “true-3D” (dimensional on multiple axes, complex engineering parts or artistic sculpts) modeler, but this looks more like you want to replicate 2D art and either extrude it in places to give pins dimension or use it as a template for enameling. That, on the other hand, is entirely in my wheelhouse! I’ve made and had produced a whole bunch of pins of this nature, both 3D printed and enameled. Can I be of service?
Edit: Here’s a random one off my desk that happens to be complex. 1.25”, “hard” enamel plus screen printing, my art.
Edit edit: Oh, I’ve also done patches (and stickers, and badges, etc.) Here’s a patch with the same design as the pin, for consistency. Colors much nicer in person.

@kman thanks for your advice… After getting my replica today, I immediately knew what you‘re talking about - it‘s more suited to be a stunning display piece.
For the moment I‘ll take measurements from the Denix to get the size of the greeblies right.
My first project will be building the resin printed 3D-PROPS version with the enhanced parts.
I‘ll post about the building process once I‘ve finished the pre-work. Even if the model isn‘t 100% accurate I‘m pretty sure, that the final model will be very close to screen-appearance (and definitely a lot lighter than the Denix).

kman reacted to EdenSanders in Poncho Officer from Andor CRL missing?
OH SHEEVS... that is a store that needs to be shut down. I bought from him once.
In my case, my order was delivered about 9 months later than it was supposed to, but with recent customers, he's been ignoring them completely. DO NOT buy from Sheev's Emporium at all! A lucky handful of people have received their orders from him (even though they were all obnoxiously late), but he's been screwing over everyone else. A Patrol Trooper friend of mine was robbed of $400 from him because so much time passed that he couldn't dispute his order or get a refund, and because of that specific incident Sheev's Etsy store got suspended.
Please avoid that shop at all costs! Spread the word.

I would trust the datasheet. They're not going to get that wrong, for something used in nuclear reactors.

Yeah I just didn’t have the plate on there, sorry for the confusion. My next try is going to have the small pieces be resin, so I can have them be smoother more easily.

kman got a reaction from TikiTechie in Waterproofing officer boots
Any sort of normal leather shoe waterproofing should work just fine. Off the shelf products by Kiwi etc are literally made to protect leather shoes, which is all these are. I wouldn't necessarily ask for them to keep my toes dry walking through a 12" deep stream, but leather footwear (smooth, not suede), with normal waterproofing, should not have any issue with rain or snow.
I'd recommend taking them to a local shoe repair shop, they'll likely have a selection available and can apply it for you if you wish.

kman got a reaction from AntonioTony in CRLs requested to LMO June 2025
To clarify one point for our members:
ISB Non-Saga Armored (not "ISB Tactical Agent", as that is a separate version NOT worn over an officer uniform, which is going to SpecOps) will be added a new tabbed variant to the existing ISB Non-Saga CRL. It is not simply an additional optional component that anyone can add anytime without review; it actually requires submission to a GML for approval (once new CRLs are able to be added again).

kman got a reaction from shovelmaster88 in Shovelmaster88 officer uniform progress (and for my wife)
Oh gotcha, those are the Noirtide boots. I guess they've taken some new photos for their site. They're custom, as I recall, so they should be just fine.

kman reacted to PeterPozniakovskyi in ANH Line Officer Gloves - are these correct?
Yeah, I see your point, especially after the photo I found and posted in another topic. I kinda want to defend my self by saying that the lighting in my pictures is awful and the contrast is not that great, but then again IRL it is not a perfect match either 🥲 I´ll send a request to my GML and see what they have to say (in any case I have to submit my belt boxes to them). Anyways, it was worth trying!

kman got a reaction from PeterPozniakovskyi in ANH Line Officer Gloves - are these correct?
Ultimately it's going to be your GML's call, but I have to say I don't see that as being a particularly close color match.
The gloves themselves aren't bad at all, quite good, but at least against the Wampa green, that's not ideal, IMO. 😕

Found another photo some days ago, probably one of the best pictures of ANH gloves - you can clearly see three decorative stitches

As I understand it, CRLs are locked at the moment due to problems with the Legion's wiki database. Once things are working again we can resume work.

kman got a reaction from Raxus in ANH Line Officer Gloves - are these correct?
When in doubt, go to the source material.
Khurgee is the only one that I can recall seen wearing the olive gloves, in his scene in ANH, by the Falcon. Key point was that the olive color was a really close match to his uniform.
If I recall correctly, they're never seen in sufficient detail to make out glove construction specifics, so from a construction standpoint I would think those are just fine. But from a color standpoint, it depends on how well they match your tunic.

kman reacted to Raxus in Olive-Grey Dress Gloves (ANH)
Thanks a lot for both the info and the screencaps gentlemen. I just rewatched the scanning scene and noticed them on the aforementioned officer--I had forgotten there was an officer that accompanied Vader and skipped rewatching the scene entirely during my search because I knew Captain Khurgee at least didn't wear gloves.
I captured a poor screencap that didn't come out the best (and exceeds file limits to upload here so I can't share it) but if you look closely during the scene when him and Vader walk away you can see the white little snap/button at the back of the glove much like the ones in the CRL. Impressive detail really, glad I asked about this.

kman got a reaction from Raxus in Olive-Grey Dress Gloves (ANH)
Right, there's no real references for these gloves that show any detail. We just know they were cotton (from an interview mention, I believe) and we can see they match the tunic color relatively closely. Beyond that, anything reasonable should be fine, since we can't tell the detail and probably never will.

kman reacted to AntonioTony in Olive-Grey Dress Gloves (ANH)
I believe the officer wearing them is the guy who brings the scanning crew to the falcon. It was mentioned before that the most important thing is that they match your uniform.

kman reacted to AntonioTony in ISB Marshal - Andor S2
Good morning, everyone. I woke up to an email from Galactic Armory today announcing that they posted these ISB Tactical Armor - 3D Print Files – Galactic Armory files to their Patreon and webstore. I've taken a quick glance at them and based off what I've seen while watching and what spec ops has discussed, they look fairly good to me. Since I'm a patron I already have these files, so I plan to print out a set in the coming days.
