I think Darth Hair pulled his blasters off his Etsy shop due to that weaponry aspect, but he sells them on his website.

Hmm. Darth Hair (DHPFX on Etsy) used to sell one, but I don't see it listed on his Etsy anymore. Might be worth sending Jeff a message to see if he's going to do more.

Worry about getting chewed out by your commanding officer, perhaps, but it's there, in-universe, as far as that's concerned LOL
And yes, walking around a troop with a cup of caf is a joy.

kman got a reaction from neek in WampaWear hat
Sounds like that hat was just too large.
But I agree that Wampa's hats are not great.
Unfortunately, Azman has not been receptive to updating the pattern, and probably won't until people start getting rejected.

kman got a reaction from neek in WampaWear hat
I'm not a fan of WampaWear's hat, I'll admit. And frankly... they don't actually meet the specific requirements of the CRL. That said, I've never seen a GML not approve one. They have the proportions and overall shape a bit wrong, along with a slightly too wide brim. All this adds up to what you're seeing.
Two options: Get used to it and ignore it, and don't worry because it's extremely unlikely you'll have a problem with approval, OR buy some fabric from Wampa and have a matching hat made for you.
In terms of helping the one you have: (1) You can use some painters tape (or any number of methods, like forcing it into a small saucepan or wide coffee mug) to help force more of a curve into that super stiff brim. That'll help the brim some. And a garment steamer (you can get them for like $20 on Amazon) or a light *careful* ironing (too hot and you can melt those fine polyester threads), and/or dry cleaning and professional cleaning, should help the shape of the one you have.
This might help with Imgur:

kman reacted to Nathanzx10r in WampaWear hat
I have a Wampa hat that I just purchased for a display, I was extremally disappointed.
I also just had to request an applicant get a new hat, he was wearing a Wampa hat for approval. I'm not 100% if the hat was too large for applicant or if it was just the way it was made... But the hat had a full inch+ of space between the wearers head on the side and looked way to oversized. I would suggest another vendor, some of us GML's do pay close attention to proper fitment and not just construction.
Having said that, your fitment looks fine and I would approve it. But, I am not your GML.

Sadly, no room for display of a full size costume. Even if I did, though, I would have the same concern expressed above: Guaranteed to have issues with dust unless it's in a hermetically sealed cabinet. And if sunlight ever hits it, fading is going to be an issue.
I store my tunics and trousers in black suit bags that I ironed on an HTV cog, so I can readily grab the right one in a dim closet.
For the small bits, I have small cases similar to what is shown in the video posted above. (tho not the belt)
Except my belt, which I roll up and keep inside my boots in my boot bag. Blaster and gloves go in the boot bag, too.
I've been considering picking up a small glove case just for my gloves, since I have several pairs now. They make them for golfing gloves.
Oh, and hats: Hats go in a hat box for storage, to keep them crisp and dust-free. JoAnn Fabrics sells these little boxes for a pretty reasonable price (especially on sale), so I have several. They come in awful flowered prints, but that's nothing that a quick coat of paint can't fix, and then a sheet of plastic can be glued on top to be Imperialed up, too.

I only saw Mimban Officers wear them with the rank bar on the chestplates. Never seen it otherwise and if they wore it on the Trenchcoat it was wrong or they thought it looked good.

This is complete!
I erroneously stated this was "just" a level 3 thing. In reality, it was a L2 thing. Apologies for this- it was not a bait and switch, but an error in interpretation on my part.
Plans to make this a L2 thing were discussed previously and extensively in the past.

kman got a reaction from Hask in Cosplaysky and L3
This topic has been kicked around by staff since before I first started in the IOC, over 6 years ago. I'm thrilled we're finally pulling the trigger.
It's still a great gateway costume, but I can't in good conscience see them being approved for higher levels anymore, with that weird green.
I still love my black officer costume from CosplaySky, though... as long as they fit, some minor tailoring to the pants to fix the flares, and they're still fine, IMO.

We've never governed the height of code cylinders in a CRL. No need to start now.

kman got a reaction from PiotrRasputin in Boots for Line Officers
My goodness, Crow Props website has gotten even worse... I wouldn't have believe it possible.
He appears to have dropped the listing for the officer boots with no back zipper. He really loves that back zipper, despite the CRL explicitly disallowing zippers other than the inside zippers. (you know, like normal boots have). That said, their whole schtick is custom boots. Just tell him you don't want that back zipper, or to put in a normal zipper on the inside.
Krennic boots have no zipper, and are good to L3 for all non-saga officers. They're NOT good for OT officers, however, since that adjustment strap (which is present on basically all non-saga costumes) was not present on any OT costumes.
Basically, Gio really needs to:
1) Put back the listing for a no-zipper plain boot, for OT costumes and drop that back zipper nonsense.
2) Make a new listing for a variation of the Krennic boot with a NORMAL (not "back hided" FFS) inside the leg zipper, which would be perfect for L3 (and screen accurate) for basically all non-saga officers.

Be advised the Hot Toys is a prototype and they have changed figure weapons in the past for production. Death Watch is a good example.

Right. But UKG is unique in that they HAVE an armourer requirement... other garrisons do not.

kman got a reaction from DarthMother in Will these gloves do?
I'm a bit ridiculous as even though I had Ravel gloves that I really liked, I eventually decided spent the money to buy the Dents, too, because I really felt I should have them and be able to speak to the comparison with certainty. LOL
And after having bought them... I think I slightly prefer my Ravel gloves. Only slightly more, but there you go. And Ravel is less than half the price.
Note that Ravel will do custom gloves for a small extra charge, if you feel you need shorter fingers than on their standard sizes.
Here are the Ravel gloves that I bought for my wife, for this same costume (Level 3 approved):
