    • While your overall uniform is great, Id highly recommend ironing/steaming the uniform, as there are too many wrinkles in it for promotion. Also, there appears to be a lot of bunching happening at the top of your boots. If you havent already, Id recommend adding stirrups to your jodhpurs to prevent that. Lastly, the flares are a bit baggy/floppy. Id recommend stiffening the flares a bit with either starch or interfacing to make them stand a bit better. If you've done all this, Id request new full body pics, head to toe, front, back, and side pictures be taken
    • In addition to the modifications outlined above, could you please provide a picture of the modesty panel with 2 eye hooks
    • Please provide a front and back pictures of your tunic showing that there is a circumference seam
    • Please provide a picture of your boots showing that there is no zippper

Yep, you are spot on. I knew I needed a dry cleaning run, but wanted to see what else I needed before I did makeup a second time for pictures. I totally  forgot about stiffening the flares. (Had to do that with my Staff officer pants too.) I'll submit new pics with the additional requested pics after I hit the dry cleaners.

    Thanks!

    Looks great!

Out of curiousity, does RL not march or do they have a separate section?  The combine 501st, RL and MM's into one here in Dallas (which was unfortunately canceled because Mother Nature thought it would be nice to hit parade day with 40 degrees and a torrential downpour).

We are a pretty tight knit group here in Georgia. Lots of crossover between the groups. So many people have kits in two or all three clubs and swap out wearing different kits depending on their mood. Everything always seems to focus on the 501st, but we always have RL and MM on hand at each troop.

  3. Ah, okay, now I understand. I was following the CRL and didn't know about the non rivets for screen  accuracy. I saw your submission photos when I was looking for holster info. I was confused by the lack of rivets comment, which now makes sense.

I jumped the gun after asking my question regarding color. I already had the holes punched, so rivets were happing on this holster anyway. When I get some thicker leather, for a second holster, I'll omit the rivets.

thanks for the input and info.

My understanding it the CRL photo is not 100% accurate, and technically the holster should not have any rivets.

Then what would you call the metal "rivets" at the ends of the stitching? I probably have my terminology wrong.

I have seen others add a snap instead of the stud closer, so I hope my holster will be passable. If not this, will be V1 and I will make changes to v2. The leather that I had on hand is a little thinner than I wanted and I thought I had maroon stain, but it's brown. Still pretty happy with the way it came out.

Yeah, the Disney Store hat is pretty much a Small, maybe able to fit a Medium.  One size only.  L/XL, definitely not.  I'd look into the size L Museum Replicas hat, as vonmoen mentioned.  They run notoriously large, so I'd avoid the XL.

I had just ordered the XL form vonmoen suggestion because the size information was what I needed, however your comment got me worried. I quickly contacted the seller asking about the size in the listing details and what I needed. They checked and saw their error. They are shipping me the L instead of the XL and at the lower price too. Third hat purchase bullet dodged. Thanks for the input!

You can still find Museum Replica hats on Ebay, there's a few offered in size large (around 7 1/2) which happen to be on sale for around $44 shipped. I just picked up one as a back up hat. Once you press the wrinkles out of them, they look pretty good.

I went ahead and ordered one. They had two listings one for L and another for XL, even though they had the same size listing in the details. The XL was only 29.99 with free shipping. I am hoping these are the ones they are referring to as being a little large than the 7 /12 that is stated.

What's your hat size?  (actual hat size is best, else do you usually buy hats in S/M/L) I've tried on 4 different Disney Store hats (two from online orders, 2 from friends who bought them in person at the Launch Bay) and they were all the same size, based on how they fit me.  It's on the small side, for most (which is why it fits me).  It's not easy to tell from a photo, but honestly, your head looks a little larger than would normally fit one of these.

I don't normally buy fitted hats so I don't know. I just measured my melon and it's about 60cm or 23 5/8 inches. A quick google search indicates I fall into the L to XL hat size or 7 1/2 to 7 5/8.

Measured the inside of the hat I have and it's 57cm. :(

  8. A friend of mine got is officer hat from Disney and it fit great on my head. I went ahead and ordered one off the Disney Store web site and it is very tight to wear. I fear I'll have a brain seizure if I wear it for more than 5 minutes.

Anybody else have this issue? Should I suck it up and make my own or wait 6-8 weeks for a custom from Sewing Jenny?
