Hey gang!  Thought I'd start a new thread where it belongs.
Prototyping the clips for the Rebels style code cylinders is moving along.
I have two new ones I made last night.  The size seems much better than my v 1.0.  But with them being smaller, it's harder to work with.  The bench grinder and belt sander ate my poor fingers up.
Here is version 1.5
Actually it's version 1.5.0 and 1.5.2 as the fish tale areas are different.  Also, one of my OT style is in the middle for comparison.
 

 
Bear in mind when I get the clips to were I'm happy, then I'll turn the cylinder at work.  They won't have the grove for the clip like OTs do.  And the top will be accurate as well.

To save my digits, while I was otherwise unoccupied at work today, I drew the clip up in MasterCam and have a program that *might* allow me to make them en masse.
Once I try that out, I'll know if making these out of aluminum is still a viable option.
If that doesn't work, I'll try them in plastic.
Either way, those will be version 2.0, and the shape will be dialed in.  I like the size now, but I want to tweak the arc at the top and the fish tale sides.

Thanks for the heads up. I have read about their hit-and-miss on the sizing. I'm not in a hurry. I plan on spending the time to get it right. I'm going to put in the order in a day or two. Hopefully I won't have to go back and forth with them too many times.

Changes seem sound, and I think this L2 suggestion would be a good compromise.

All is ordered and now waiting for it all to come in. Which is the hardest part the wait time. So well I wait I'm working on building Hera season 3 outfit.(I know traitor lol)

Edit - I changed up the wording a bit.  Level one hat and belt disk is Rebels style now.  I did away with the Rebels style hat disk for level two, so at the moment it goes OT hat with Rebels stuff for level one, and then totally new Rebels hat for level three.
My thinking there is that nobody has made one yet, and it may actually not be doable with the rounded, no seams look to the base.
I left the code cylinders alone for now, as I haven't even made the Rebels style clip.  I will, and they'll be available, but it seems shady to me if I'm the only source for a part and I require it at level one.
I also left the rank bar wording the same.  It calls for the rounded corners, but can be 2 bars at level one.  One bar at level two.
Basically if it's a part that is in the approved Pryce CRL, I tried to use that exact wording.
Going back to the hat, could maybe a level two hat be the OT hat with no stitching on the brim?  Just a thought there.  An after thought as it were.

If we're going to have Rebels CRLs I think the belt and hat insignia need to be Rebels styled. Otherwise, why is it Rebels and not just lazy normal officers who haven't bothered to get correct details?

You can still have different soft parts move towards more accuracy for different levels (so a standard design hat with a Rebels insignia would pass L1), but a Rebels insignia is what is going to be the real difference between a Rebels officer and any other non-Rebels officer to anyone who doesn't know the tiny details.

That really depends on the type of iron on. You can get classy fabric ones that look good. Mine are listed in the Pryce CRL which I bought premade for pittance. While they can be ironed on too I actually stitched them on and it looks rather class.

Personally id like to see them all wiped out they are Rebels after all

So I just met up with my Garrison mate, and although I didnt go to Celebration this year, I did manage to get a copy of Thrawn!!! As a bonus, its signed by Timothy Zahn!!! I am so happy that I got my hands on a copy of this exclusive, especially since they sold out and there was a bit of a fiasco regarding its sale
