I've not been following this buid in close detail, can I just summarise why it was rejected to to see if I'm understanding it correctly?  The crl was rejected by the LMO because:

    - The LMO team should have been involved sooner.
Except that the LMOs were involved from the very beginning of this thread and have commented consistently.

    - The costume should not have been made before the LMO team had given the crl a green light.
Except that whenever new crls have been asked about in the past the standard response from Kris (an LMO) has always been "someone has to build it first".

    - There aren't clear reference shots of the back
Except this has never been a requirement that is applied evenly and, according to the actual wording (shared above), is not so much a requirement as a preference.

    Anything else I'm missing?

Where was the sources for that? That was solely from a galaxy’s edge exclusive action figure....

This is the problem I have seen pointed out several times in the last few hours in this thread. There are way too many examples of “yes, THESE are the rules, but not when it applies to X,Y or Z, because WE deem it so”.

Hi, bargain basement SWAT team Lt. Sunber here.

For what it's worth, under the "Character Approval" in the "CRL and New Costume Survival Guide", it states:

The way it's written, it sure sounds like some leeways can be given. A full back reference is not required as some have stated on this thread. Legion costumes have had a track record of getting updated over the years as more reference materials emerge. A "complete ensemble" costume and CRL has been developed closely following available reference images. Just my two cents - when there are conflicting opinions I like to draw people back to the original text (to take feelings and assumptions out of the equation).

We are archeologists.  Unless we get to hold and touch multiple copies of the same on screen costume, we go on the best information available.  We guess the fabric, the material, the color.  We guess how the costume goes together. (it was years before we figured out how officer jackets really went together.  most people for the longest time had a zip up jacket covered with a yoke).  Why does moff Jejerrod have two seams on his yoke and everyone else has two?  Why do the shuttle pilots for Darth Vader have 5 stitches on their hat brim and everyone else have 7 or more?  These questions only appeared in recent years.  The color of the cog on the TIE pilot helmet recently changed.  After all these years we just figured out what it really was?

I have seen people claim to be the guardians of accuracy when they wore costumes that were never on screen and we only learned that after the blurays and HD copies of the films came out.  I have seen them stand in the way of costumes being developed when their own first of a kind costumes missed pockets and shoulder boards.  The standards are very much NOT evenly applied.  The answer is a fair system that works.

Until the day comes where we get to partner with LFL and get to see the costumes top to bottom, in person and interact with the costume designers, we are archeologists giving our best theories.  And theories are replaced with better theories as new information comes out.  That is how it is and how it always has been.  Anyone that says otherwise is kidding themselves.

I am committed to developing relations with the costume designers so we can get the information (and hopefully the photos from the horses mouth).  But until that day comes where we have established those relationships we should act on the best information we have.  As we have in the past and as we do so today with other costumes approved now.

I attribute no malice to the decisions made, but members that focus more attention on armor and don't even know what a princess seam is are not the people who should be making these kinds of decisions.  They don't have the interest, the skill or the involvement.  The LMO team should be a vibrant diverse group and those that focus on these matters should have a weighted voice.

Not approving this IS a WRONG.  It is not a virtue.  Moving forward with the best information we have after a year and a half after the movie has been released is not a mistake.  It is overdue.  And I will support any LCO's LMO team that adopts that stance that we launch with the best information available and we adjust as new information comes out.

    Hello everyone.
I create this post to show the WIP for a new CRL, the ISB AGENT (Battlefront 2), since the reference images are only of the video game, I will have to wait for the confirmation of the GML of the detachment to see if it is possible to do this suit for the 501st.
For the rest I leave here reference images and 3D models of the hard parts that I have created to make the suit. As I say, the suit is in process.

Well, I'm going to stimulate this discussion in our Squadron and ask our GML directly...

But if there is nothing against including the A280 in the CRL and no one has anything against it, why not simply implement it?
That way, any further discussion would be over...

There has been this discussion on a small scale here before:
And especially here - including photos of the action figure with the Blaster and the collectible card:

And I found at least three more chats where this topic was mentioned...
I think it's time to put an end to these discussions and let words be followed by deeds:
INCLUDES THE BLASTECH A280 IN THE CRL OF THE IMPERIAL NAVY TROOPER!!!

And yes, the thing may be big, heavy and uncomfortable...but what do you do for the Empire?!
    LONG LIVE THE EMPIRE!!!
I'm used to worse when I trooped as Heavy Weapons Trooper...
And if this blaster is too heavy for you, you can wear an DL-21 (without holster)!

    Description: Imperial Staff Officer
    Prefix: ID
    Detachment: Imperial Officer Corps
Context: Rogue one, Solo, The Mandalorian and Expanded Universe.

These ambitious officers not only serve aboard starships and military installations but are also pilots for transports,

    Imperial Hat, black

Base of the hat is conical, with a crown about 4" (101.6 mm) tall. Front and rear "flaps" overlap on the sides and are about 4" (101.6 mm) high. Front bill extends 3" down, decorated with 5, 6 or 7 concentric stitches. Imperial Code Disk is positioned in the center of the front vertical flap. Code Disk has no notch detail on the outermost disk.

Collar edges are closed with two eye hooks. There are code cylinder pockets on both outside panels of the jacket from about half way between the top and bottom on the arm hole. Sleeves are long, and without decoration, cuffs or buttons, containing 2 seams, one along the bottom and one along the back. Tunic is constructed with no top-stitching (stitches visible on the exterior surface of fabric) Fasteners on the uniform should not be visible.

The back of the tunic has princess seams that run vertically and turns outward to intersect the arm-hole seam at the vertical center.
OPTIONAL Level three certification (if applicable): Tunic must be secured on the right side by snaps or buttons, not Velcro.

Rank Bar   Worn on the left side of the tunic over the heart. Rank consists of colored plastic tiles mounted on a single or double metal or metal looking bar. The bar is approximately 1" (25.4 mm) height. Rank tile dimensions are approximately 1/2" (12.7 mm) width x 3/4" (19 mm) height x 1/8" (3.2 mm) deep. - This is the OT size., the correct larger tiles are also acceptable. Isnt "staff officer" just a designation that the 501st came up with years ago for a uniform that we now know never actually existed on screen?
LFL refers to the black uniformed officers as "Security Officers" and therefore all the references will refer to that.  Makes sense for us to follow suit.

The visual guide refers to Lt Putna as a “librarian-turned-security-officer”, so why not just called the black uniformed R1/Solo CRL “Security Officer (R1/Solo)”? It helps makes a clear delineation between the OT and the Anthology uniforms.
